Why does this man show no faith? That has always bugged me. I've posted before that I thought he would be one of the best witnesses ever.

ESPN.com (http://sports.espn.go.com/nba/news/story?id=2197904)

He just says what he did was stupid and really does not show anything resembling what we could call repentance.

:(

He's not a Christian. You cannot expect a non-Christian to act like a Christian. If he were a Christian things would be diferent.

I can't say he's not a Christian, not my job... he's not perfect, but his salvation is totally different. Just don't be so hasty.

To repent is to turn. He is admitting his mistake, and seeing it as stupid. That is a start. With all due respect, you don't know what God is doing in his life.

Well, he realised and even admitted that gambling is stupid. I don't see why a Christian should have a problem with this statement especially since it seems as if he gave it up by now. Sure, he is not talking about it being a sin but I must say that I find that rather sympathic. Most Christians talk about their former sins and how they overcame them way too much imho.

Just don't be so hasty.Has he made a profession of faith and does he bear the fruit of the Christian life? That's pretty simple. I'm not saying he won't struggle with sin, but it's silly to say, "well, I can't say that this non-professing, non-confessing person isn't a Christian". That's soooo Joel Osteen when he was talking about Hindus in India on Larry King.

Wow... didn't know you were up to date on the doings of Michael. It's not like I know the guy. I don't know what he's about. Pretty sure you don't either. Just because he's a celebrity and you know of him doens't mean you know him. I'm a bit more concerned about other things besides checking whether Michael Jordan professes to be or confesses to be anything. Like I said, I don't know him and I've never talked to him so it's a little hard for me to tell if he's saved. That's just me though. I am however happy that you can make that call without ever talking to him either... quite impressive really.

The only man from whom I expect perfect and sinless actions is Christ.... who just so happened to be the only one capable of doing such.

That's right, even the superhuman flying sport guys make mistakes.

What's impressive? Seriously!
If a person does not claim Christ EVER, why consider them a Christian?
That is all I'm saying. I don't see the big deal here.
Good grief.

Compare David Robinson http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/David_Robinson_%28basketb all_player%29

to Michael Jordan http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Michael_Jordan

and I think you can see what I mean.

I think the point that Grank was making was that you are responding to one very brief interview. It hardly shows the enirety of the man. I am not saying Jordan is a Christian, but then again I am not saying he isn't. That is not for me to decide. In the ESPN article it said that one of the things that he talks about in his interview is his pursuit of privacy. Maybe that is something that he has decided to keep separate from his status as an international icon. Yes, we are called to confess our faith, but confessing it to your neighbor and confessing it in a nationally televised interview are two different things. All I am saying is that only God knows the heart of man, I believe that is written somewehre.

Here is the Wikipedia page for KC Chiefs wide receiver who is a Christian. Yet there is nothing on there about his faith.
