Well, just my opinion:

I was shocked at first. The very first song threw me a bit - just wasn't expecting it. It sounds heavy and more modern. But it still has the "metal edge" to it. I say that because the music is similar (to me) to some of the stuff I've been hearing the last few years except with much better lyrics. The first song is "Open Your Eyes" and it kicks hynie! The more I listened the more I loved it. The second song "Reborn" is also a very cool song. Those are my two favorites. I also rate "10,000 Years" and the remake/modernized of "In God We Trust" highly too.

Michael Sweet's voice is still the same - excellent. The harmony vocals are still there and sound great to me.

I posted here somewhere a few weeks ago that if you liked Stryper before you'd like them now. I'd like to add that if you didn't like Stryper then, you just might now.

With the "re-birth" of Stryper i wonder if some of there fellow heavy metal Christian bands will join them? Maybe Bloodgood or Barren Cross? Petra keeps floating around bit what about White Heart?

Whiteheart wern't really Metal, they were on Sparrow after all. You might be confusing them with White cross

Speaking of Petra, their Farewell DVD is excellent. They even got Greg X Volz to do a set and John Lawry. Bob Hartman rocked on guitar as expected. Now Bob and John Schlitt are doing a 2 man gig.
