True story: I bought a baseball for my kid today. It had a sticker on it that said: "For recreational use only." Still scratching my head, wondering what non-recreational use one could have for a baseball, and why the baseball manufacturer is so dead-set against it.

I saw one used as a murder weapon on an episode of CSI:NY once.

I saw one used as a murder weapon on an episode of CSI:NY once.that was my thought...not unusual at all for that to be a murder or beating weapon.

I didn't say a bat. I said a baseball.

Besides, if someone is a murderer, they clearly don't care about rules, so what good would a sticker do?

No, I mean a baseball. Hit the victim in the chest with it.

In case they get sued....they did say for recreational use only...not that far fetched in today's world. :)

I think it refers to the fact that they are not certified to be used in any sort of league play. I know certain leagues have a particular ball that can only be used in games.

I can think of a few none recreational used that a baseball should not be used for...

Not to be used as a door stop.

Not to be used as a Life Bouy.

Not to be used to change channels on a television.

Not to be used to wake up parents in the early hours

Not to used in The Large Hadron Collider

Do not microwave, contents may be hot. Not for use as bra size enhancer. Do not use as a murder weapon, may violate municipal, state and federal regulations.
