Believe the hype. This is one of the best albums I have ever heard period. No, I'm not saying this is one of the best Christian albums I have ever heard, I am saying this is one of the best albums of any kind of music I have ever heard. There are 17 tracks and each one flows continuously into the next as though the entire album were one giant song. The music and the lyrics are all really solid. Definitely worth the $10 or whatever it will cost you

I don't have the CD just yet, but I believe its a great CD. Every *new* DC*B betters the last one. I did buy the single - He loves us... great version.

I listened to clips of the new album on Amazon. It sounded really good. DCB is one of those bands that I like quite a bit, but for some reason don't have a single one of their CDS. I'll have to remedy that! (pun intended)

Going shopping tomorrow. Must have. I have everything they've recorded, and I've only done that with one other band.

Picked up Church Music last night... I love me some DCB...
The Lifeway Clerk asked me what they were like.. (I was shocked that she would ask me that)
The only way I can discribe them is eclectic... with a very varied sound from electronic to rock to bluegrass...

really? you are for sure missing out! they're a very talented band from waco, tx, assembled at baylor university. they cover a wide range of music as cheewie said and they have some really good albums out already prior to this latest one. what i really like about them is their no fear of experimenting. this new album is definitely an experimentation, but it rocks, just like all the others. they are also a group who do not take themselves seriously and have/create a lot of fun. check 'em out

I wish there was a Christian equivalent to Phish. Glass Harp comes to mind only because they are one of the few true jam bands ever to play music with a Christian theme, but they didn't last long as a band. They are still semi active when they have special reunion shows and when Phil Keaggy is playing in the Ohio area.
Glass Harp and Phish are apples and oranges but they are both jam bands.
I only mention this in the DCB thread because they all have something in common and that is they all think outside of the box and are eclectic.
Glass Harp came long before Phish ever was a thought.

How many bands can incorporate the Mario Bros theme played on the keytar into their live shows?

Add to that -- David Crowder is probably the oddest looking person I"ve ever seen...magic!

Yes, I agree. Before I knew who he was, I thought HE was the guy on the cover of their "Can You Hear Us" CD.
LOL, when I saw what he really looked like, the word "Beatnik" came to mind! :D

DC*B = David Crowder* Band. If you heard the song - Oh Praise Him (all this for a King), DC*B wrote and recorded it. I do believe DC*B opened up for Third Day on one tour...

They did, during the "Wherever You Are" tour - at least they did here in Texas. My husband had attended that Third Day concert, and brought home a David Crowder Band CD "A Collision". Said I would like them (as I didn't like Third Day very much at the time  - I've since seen the error of my ways) and I did. I have four of their CD's and am looking forward to getting this new one!

David Crowder is a musical genius. That said, I think I still prefer A Collision over Church Music, but it's some seriously good music.

I got 'Church Music', and I love it. Its a little different from DC*B's other CD's, but I was so worth getting...
I also got the LP's, and it is so kool...

Make sure you read the liner notes. DC leaves internet goodies hidden in the liner notes for those dedicated enough to read them.

That's because you are really a redneck bluegrass lover at heart. You should change your screen name to RedneckBluegrassHeart.

I love bluegrass myself. Bull Monroe is my favorite with my favorite song being My Sweet Little Georgia Rose.

I went to a Beth Moore conference this weekend. Love to hear her. So much energy and passion in a bible study. She was teaching us about John the Baptist and trying to paint us a picture of what this wild man in the desert might look like, when up on the huge convention center screens pops up a pic of David Crowder in all of his wild hair ways!! HAHAHAHA!! It was hilarious. :D

...that's what makes DC*B rock, David's wild hair...

That was an inside jab at SacredHeart.;)
I saw DC*B on Friday night and even though I'm on 3D's boards, I have to say it's the best concert I've ever attended. I can't explain it and won't try to....but it was awesome.
