Do you really think the Ducks can beat the Wings? Or do you just not like the Red Wings and hope they lose. ;)

R. Smith

Canucks fans beware, the young Blackhawks are not push-overs like the Blues were. We won 5-3, but the Blackhawks are confident.

As far as the Red Wings/Ducks series goes, I see the Red Wings winning the series. The Ducks have a great team, but they are not as strong as the Red Wings...

One thing I have to say is that the Caps really surprised me they came from behind. I hope they can either take this series or at least come from behind and keep Pitts. in check

I really don't like the Red Wings...at all... It's mostly Hossa's fault... and the fact that I took a ton of abuse IN THE PHILLIPS from the Red Wings fans.

Well, the Red Wings beat the not so Mighty Ducks tonight. As much as I hate to say it, I think the Red Wings will sweep the Ducks.

And Boston won thier game tonight...

any red blooded Canucks fan, like myself, would love to see the Red Wings and the Ducks beat each other up for 7 games. So, if that happend. That would be great!!!

The Pens lost thie game yesterday, and that series looks to be a little boring.
The Canucks lost 6-3 against the Blackhawks. The young Blackhawks are not afraid, and they aren't push overs like the blues were.

Cant wait for tonights game even though I wont be able to watch it:confused:   I have a feeling that the Caps will totally take the series:D :D Ovetchkin was a beast on Sat. He will do great things in this series I bet.

One of the reasons I would LOVE to see Ovy's team beat Crosby's team... I personally think that Ovy is a better player, and am not too fond of Crosby getting all the love...

Johnny 59 - Yes, I am a Canucklehead... =)

Kovyarmy 37 - I love both Crosby and Ovechkin equally. I think over all Ovechkin is a better player, but they are both great for the NHL. The NBA has lots and lots of superstars, the NHL needs them to...

Canes tied up the series with the Bruins with the 3-0 win last night. Yay!

Although the general consensus is that it really should be 4-0, that the goal that was disallowed really WAS a goal. At least that's what it looked like on MY TV when they showed the above the net view, there was a very definite space between the goal line and the puck.

Oh well. A win be a win. And now they'll be home for the next two...

Well there's one thing we agree on. I'm really not that big of a Crosby fan either. He's a good player and all, but all the announcers are always drooling over him like he's the best thing ever to happen to the game of hockey, and I wouldn't say he's any better than someone like Datsyuk or Zetterberg.

BINGO! I used to like the Pens, and it is torture to cheer against Dupuis, but I can not stand Crosby...I don't think he is as talented as the NHL thinks he is... it bugs me that he gets such a big chunk of the attention when there are players like Ovy and Kovy, and Zetterberg...

I think Kovy put it best:

I watch Crosby in the IIHF tournament, and I tell ya. He is a great, gifted player. Alex O. is a gifted player to, a over all better player then Sid. This playoff series between the Caps and the Pens, is a dream match up for the NHL. I'm glad it came about...

But I hope, Sid & Alex fight or something...

THAT would make my life. :)

That's what I told my dad... Crosby's talented, Ovy's better all around (plus, IMO, he doesn't whine as much)

Caps won last night, so it's

Red Wings vs Ducks (1-1)
Canucks vs Blackhawks (1-1)

Canes vs Bruins (1-1)
Caps vs Pens (2-0 Caps lead)

My Red Wings got beat by an awful call. This is only the second time I can remember that I would say that a bad call changed the outcome of the game, the other being in the first round of the 2001 playoffs, when the Wings were playing the Kings, and toward the end of the game Osgood pinned the puck up against the post, and Mick McGeough decided it was a goal, which sent the game to overtime, and the Kings won.

The Canes have another go at the Boo-ins tonight at the RBC. It would be GREAT to go back to Boston with the series 3-1 after tonight! Woohoo! ('Course, now I probably jinxed it and it'll go back tied 2-2. LOL. )

My boss is getting tired of the way the Canes keep getting their games scheduled ;) , this is about the second or third time since the playoffs started that they're putting a kink in our video shoot schedules here at work. One of our videographers is a partial plan season ticket holder so is going to all the playoff games, and every time there's a home game, we can't schedule her for any video shoots that might run late in the day or be out of town. It's actually cost us a couple of jobs so far.

But we must have our priorities. Playoff Hockey comes first!

I postponed a vacation the year the Canes were up against Detroit in the playoffs. The Canes ended up losing the series, and I think it only delayed vacation for three or four days. We were on the road and on our way in the wee hours the morning after the Canes lost. :)

Oooh, first period of the Canes game over, Canes are winning 1-0 so far...

The Unknown Gomer

Game over! Canes win 4-1.

And go back to Boston with the series now at 3-1. Nice to have it be "do or die" for ANOTHER team for a change.

I see Game 6, if needed, will be on Tuesday next week. It's already on the office calendar as "no late video shoots" for our videographer that day. Watch us get booked solid again that day. LOL.

the Caps came from behind in the first round they can do it again. In fact I love it when a sports series comes down to one game that can go either way for both teams. This makes for an exciting playoff.

Eek! The Canes are down 3-0 at nearly the end of the second period. Looks like Boston came out to show what they're REALLY made of tonight.

With this one being do or die for them, I'd have expected nothing less, though.

Come ON, Canes!

I'd love to stick on that third car flag in the morning! :D

Canes vs Boo-ins tonight at the RBC. Should be breaking all decibel levels in the building tonight, I'd think.

If history is any indication, the odds are against the Boo-ins to take the series at this point. But then, when do the Canes follow with tradition, lol. At least they've got the edge, it's still do or die for Boston, and the Canes are on home ice again.

So ANYTHING can happen.

Capitals and Rangers tied 3-3

The Unknown Gomer
05-13-2009, 01:53 AM
Arggggh! The Boo-ins forced a game 7 in boston! Now THEY'RE on the roll, and will be on home ice again, to boot.

History is still on the Canes' side, and they're good when their backs are to the wall, but clearly, so is Boston.

I have NO idea who is going to win Game 7. Guess it just depends on which teams come out to play that night.

... and Hockey. Lol. I am a Hockey fan, life long hockey fan. But I am a Vancouver Canucks fan...

I have nothing against you Unknown Gomer, or the Canes. I just feel Boston, would win the series. If you hasn't noticed, the very 1st post on this (round 2) thread, I pick the teams who I thought would win thier series.

The only Canadian team The Vancouver Canucks, are knocked out of the playoffs. That's something I've been dealing with for 3 days. I've followed the team since I was a kid; watched them make it to the NHL finals 2 times. I was/am very upset the Nucks lost game 6, but I'm proud of what they did this year.

With our season over, I will now cheer for the Pens & Bruins.

I just can't bring myself to cheer for the Pens... I did last year, just because I can't STAND the Red Wings...

Go Blackhawks.

I never paid much attention to the Blackhawks before this season (just had no reason to, as little as the Thrashers played them...) but when Fresno (ECHL) suspended operations and the Blackhawks signed an affiliation with the Glads I've been paying more attention... so they are now my pick for the Stan-leeee cup

Going to OVERTIME!

I remember the Pens/Red Wings game that went into OT last year in the finals... I sat on the end of my bed squeezing a stuffed pengiun's head... in anxiousness (named Fleury).

I have seen one playoff game go into OT live... it was a Glads game this year (the one they WON) and it was amazing, we all went bonkers when they won!

The Unknown Gomer

Most bizarre playoff OT moment... it was many years ago, when Beezer was with the Panthers, and I fell asleep watching the game on TV around 10:30 or 11:00.

Woke up at something like 3 in the morning, and it blew my mind to see that the game was STILL going that late, it was the 3rd or 4th OT.

I've been at a couple of live playoff OTs, I think the latest I've gotten out was just after 1am.

That sounds about right. 1996 would have been the right time frame. Man, has it BEEN that long? Doesn't seem like it. That was weird though, to go to sleep with the game on, and then to wake up in the middle of the night, and the same game is still on.

Was that a fourth OT, or did that one actually go to five? I remember it broke a record I think...

The third flag is up today! Yay. Wonder what all this wind resistance is doing to my gas mileage. LOL. :D

Now THERE'S someone who can be my friend! Unlike Mr. Canuck fan, who wants my Canes to lose! *grumble grumble*

:P Just kidding, i-Rog. ;) I love a good hockey rivalry. One of my former co-workers lived up in Mississauga, and we were constantly having "discussions" about who was better, my Canes or his Leafs, during the course of the season. When the two teams would meet, his favorite phrase was always "I'd wish you luck, but you'd know I wouldn't mean it." :D

The Leafs are better... they're just really good at acting like they are bad so that everyone will underestimate them and then we WILL win the cup :)
