I've been a gomer on those boards since 1999; been a fan of the band since 1997. The thing that seems to pop up on the boards and other fan sites, is - They didn't play this song. If its Love Song or Rockstar.
I know I'll take flack for saying this, but I live soooo far away from any BIG city. And I may 'never' see the boys live. And if I go on to glory never have seen 3D live, I'd be ok with that.
Don't get me wrong, I am a big BIG Third Day fan. I would love to see them live. But it bugs me when I hear, great concert tonight...but you didn't play this song.

Yes, that kinda bugs me as well.
I really hope you do get to see them live, though.
It's an amazing experience!

You know, I think they could get up on stage and sing the alphabet, and I'd be happy. :D
I saw them for the first time last month and was lucky enough to see them again the next week. I hope you do get to see them. Great experiences, no matter what they sang.
I don't think people mean any disrespect,though..just stating their faves.

I agree that it's a little annoying to hear someone went and wasn't happy with the song selection, but we do have ones we really love. For those of us who can't attend multiple concerts however, we ARE thankful for whatever is in the set.

I've been blessed to see them live several times and have never been disappointed in the song selections. They play from their hearts, but I'm sure they also want to sing the crowd pleasers. It's always great when they add new songs like Run To You and Born Again. If you haven't already purchased Live Revelations, you definitely should because it's as close to being at a concert that you can get.

I have been able to see ThirdDay twice. I have songs I hope they will do, but I'm happy with ANYTHING they do. They are so awesome live! TD puts there heart into the show...how can you not be happy with what they do?

I agree. They don't come to Oz very often and I've seen them three times. I can't imagine complaining - we Aussies and Kiwis are thrilled when they come.
Memo: If any of you don't like their song selection, send 3D here!!! :P We will appreciate each and every song.
Roger: When they go to Canada, travel to a concert. You won't regret it!

They don't come to Pgh very often either but, to echo what has already been said, I'm grateful for whatever. And the songs I really like are more obscure so if they ever made the songlist I'd be surprised (IE "It's a Shame" "It's Alright").
Sandra is right, take the time to travel to see them. Even if it's just a weekend. It is SO worth it!!

I agree! Save some money up and take a road trip. The majority of my concerts involved that...and it was well worth it. A good concert, a change of scenery, and fun with friends. can't beat that!

Fortunately, I have so many 3D "favorites" that they end up playing at least one of mine at any concert! I got to see them last month, and they played my absolute favorite 3D song, "King of Glory", but my close 2nd is "Consuming Fire" and they didn't play that one. But that's okay. I mean, if they played everything everyone wanted them to, then it would be a 3-4 hour concert! And while I wouldn't mind that, they do have to get on the road for the next place.

I have to agree here. I can understand being disappointed that they didn't play a favorite song, but some people get almost mad about it and feel they must vocalize it. Maybe it's because that's the only song they really like that Third Day does, or maybe they just feel entitled. I don't know. But to me, a concert is a band giving you a presentation of their work and their talent. They know what they can play best and what fits in this show best. Personally, I'll leave it up to them what they want to play.
I've had the guys ask me what song I'd like to hear, and I just sort of go blank because there are so very many that I love. (There is one song I'd LOVE to hear live, "More to This" from Conspiracy #5, but it's pretty obscure, and I don't expect I'll ever hear it live, and it doesn't really matter. Mac did sing a little bit of it at a M&G for me, and that's more than I could ever ask for. :) )
I also agree that they could get on the stage and sing the alphabet and I'd be happy. Anything is fine with me. :)

I've not been a fan for too long but I've seen them 4 times and I'm guilty of wishing they'd play my favorites only because I want to hear them live. I don't think those who "complain" are doing anything disrespectful. There's that song that you really connect with and even though you love everything they do, you want to hear that special song when you see them in concert.
I hope that you get the chance to see them in person. There's nothing like it.

I don't know about the others, but I'm not talking about people who wish they'd play a favorite song, or even who post, "The concert was great, but I was disappointed that they didn't play God of Wonders." I'm talking about people who get angry about it in their posts (and there have been quite a few) or who walk into the Wired Meet & Greet and complain to the guys about the set list. That seems rude to me.

People actually take time at the meet & greet to complain about the set list? That's yesly rude!

Wow...I cannot imagine doing that! I did thank Mac for doing "King of Glory" in College Station. Why be negative at something like that? They're taking the time and effor to put on a great show (even while freezing!), then to come in and meet the fans and spend a few minutes with each one. Reminds me of "Nothing at All"... ;)
Life's too short...be encouraging when you can...

Oh my I can't imagine people doing that. What a waste of a totally awesome experience to complain! Each time I've heard them live I found a new song to call my favorite! Like you, I'm not sure I could shout out a favorite if put on the spot. I'm finding I like more and more of the older stuff as I go back and listen to them more.

lizbgray - I agree, if Mac sang the ABC's...he would make it sound good. Maybe even, London Bridge is falling down... =)
Sandie - This Day is playing live in Abbotsford early next month, but I'll be starting a cooking job @ that time. So, I can't go. But I will be get to see local BC Christian singer Heather Clark in 7 days, @ a conference. I can't wait...

There is nothing like a live show. What's amazing to me is that they always sound just as good as any of the recordings, generally, they sound even better... I have favorite songs, too, and so do my kids, but I've never bben disappointed by the set list. Also, for those people with issues, there's always posting requests on the boards, blogs, or Twitter, or bringing a sign! I wouldn't expect any artist to pull a song out of their repertoire cold, especially some of the more obscure ones.

I cannot believe people actually do that! I'm with y'all; if they sang the ABCs, it would be a great concert. (Actually, I'd be disappointed if they didn't sing Mary Had a Little Lamb.) :P I thought I was going through concert withdrawal but hearing that a fellow Gomer has never been, I have been ungrateful - I've been to at least 1 concert a year up until last year - I am spoiled! DO take a road trip! It's so worth it!

My husband and I have driven for 2 1/2 hours to a Third Day concert. It was very much worth the trip. We are blessed this year that they will be only fifteen minutes away. Next week will be our fourth Third Day concert, we've never been disappointed with their set list. I can't imagine going up to them and complaining! Wow!.

We drove across the country - a 6 hour drive to see them 2 years ago. It was SO worth it!!! I was totally blown away by the humbleness of all the guys as well as their music. I agree with all my fellow gomers here, they can play any of their songs & I'll be happy!

it does annoy me too though before i was as much of a fan i am now i probably did this very thing, and if i did i'm very sorry to the guys. i've been very blessed by this band and their music. able to see them 5 times in concert and meet them twice. i can definitely say though that i have NEVER been disappointed with a concert, in fact every one i see keeps getting better. these guys and their music have helped me through so many hard times in my life, i will always be grateful to them.

I completely agree...When I was going through some very rough stuff...TDs music was a blessing and then some. TD is an awesome band and I am grateful to them for their music and dedication to the Lord. I can't even begin to imagine doing what Corrine talked about earlier...imagine how the guys must feel:( Thankyou ThirdDay....You guys are the best
Roger...you have to see TD live...best show you will ever see!:D

I don't have a problem with that. IMHO, there's nothing wrong with saying that a song they liked wasn't included in the set list. Particularly when they actually said it was a great show otherwise. The odds that everyone is going to like every single song choice that's included in a given set list is probably pretty small.
I've always had songs that I've wished they would have kept in the setlist, and others that I feel that they've played to death, and a couple that I just don't really care for. But when they play them live, that pretty much goes out the window, and it's all good. :)
With that being said though, when those same songs show up on their live CDs, those are always the tracks that I still end up skipping over on a regular basis. Live on CD is definitely NOT the same as live and in person, lol.

Since I just got home from WinterJam I thought I'd weigh in on this silly topic. I think the problem is that TD has such a long ling of hits that it's impossible to please everyone. I will admit that I don't like the current set list(sorry). I , like most gomers will go to every concert and love it but I leave feeling somewhat unfulfilled. I'm sitting there thinking this is awesome but what I would give to hear Consuming Fire or Sky falls down or Creed. Then I also realize that half the people there have probably never heard the songs that I love so much. So it looks like nothing but old school Third Day in the cd player for the next week.
Btw, I'm with Corinne on More to This. Definitly would love to hear it live and I think it is the most underrated Third Day song ever. There, that might make me a jerk but I feel better.:D
