Can You Find Any Proof For This?

I'm posting about a prophecy web site, and one page in particular that is about how the Bible says things will play out in the very near future. I wanted to see if you know of any supporting evidence of this occurring, or any stories you have heard about the ground underneath having such a potential. You'd have to read it first or you won't know what I'm referring to, of course. They are referring to parts in the Bible, not on this page necessarily, where it speaks of a portion of the earth being destroyed by fire, and see that as being the North American continent and explain how it will occur.
