oh yeh, it's that time!! It's been a year and a half since I've seen 3D, and this was exciting. Got two reviews for you:

Tech Review:
<techie warning> if you don't care about techie, geeky, cool, etc details of how things work behind the scenes, skip to the next part </techie warning>
It was really great getting to work behind the scenes with 3D's tech crew. I was impressed with how professional and yet how down to earth and easy-going they were, even though they had never met any of us. The Palladium had just installed a nice new JBL system, so they used house sound, which made our life alot easier. 3D brought 8-10 techs with them, and then most of the crew were volunteers supplied by soulfest, a really great group of people. Saw some familiar faces and met a lot of new ones. We actually all got to sit and enjoy the show, which was sweet. The show sounded really good, I was impressed. The show ended late at 11pm, but we were still out by about 12:30, which was impressive. All in all, a huge blast. I did alot of pushing around bins, loading/unloading the truck, general help with stuff, really fun, but I'm beat after an 18 hour work day.

Actual show review:
It was awesome!!!! I wasn't quite in the mood for it actually, but the show turned me around and was exactly what I needed. Even with Brad gone, the guys have still maintained that big huge sound. Mark and Tai have both definitely stepped up and filled in the gaps. Scotty was so much fun to watch, hilarious player! It was nice to hear alot of the new stuff live finally. They played a chunk of Freebird during acoustic section after someone yelled it out. Mac and Mark traded sports jokes of course, and Mac revealed to us that he doesn't like the Yankees at all, go Red Sox! I unfortunately had to leave like 6-7 songs before the end of the set to do volunteer stuff, but I caught a good chunk of the show. I don't have any pictures, I think it was a no-cameras venue, and I didn't want to lug it around all day anyway. There were a couple of other orange Gomers shirts floating, wish I had the chance to meet you guys.
EDIT: oh yeh, I also got a shoutout from Mac for my shirt. I passed him while I was loading the truck. I didn't say anything, but he pointed, said "hey, nice shirt", and walked onto the band bus. kinda cool. it was a weird feeling, I kept bumping into the band members all day. I passed Tai and David both about 3-4 times during the day as they wandered around checking on setup or during soundcheck.
I ripped a setlist off a bin I was loading onto the truck, but I'm exhausted and don't really want to post a picture right now, so here's the list:

Hello James. :)

Glad you had a great time, and got to volunteer as well. I seem to remember that you volunteered once before.

I just got home from MA late last night and now have computer access!!! I've got lots of pics, but still need to upload them off the my media cards. The show was AWESOME! Cool venue, great crowd, AMAZNING MUSIC! Couldn't have asked for anything more that night! I wish I'd met you, James. I probably saw you and didn't even know it! I'll post more details with the pics later on... haven't even had my COFFEE yet! (BTW, David's got some kickin' coffee/lattes at the shows!.... GET SOME!)
