I've been on a rilly big U2 kick for the last several weeks (which I'm sure will last for the next several months due to the new CD, and the upcoming tour), so I've kind of lost track of this, but it just occurred to me that we're only about 3 weeks from the Fayetteville show. :cool:

Woooohooooo! I too have been involved in a countdown of another kind for a few weeks looking forward to going to the DPAC to see Jesus Christ Superstar which was totally awesome for lack of a better word. Ted Neeley still has it. Nothing like seeing the story of Christ's Passion played out on stage in a Rock Opera! So now that that's over with - nothing between today and April 1st!

I unfortunately have to get through a dentist appointment on the 25th before I'm free and clear to the concert. :( Ugh.

Be warned, whoever might be sitting near me, since rumor has it that they're playing some new U2 as some of the pre-concert music, you WILL hear me singing along. Bring your earplugs. :o :P

Still don't know diddly-squat about the scoop on the VIP ticket stuff though. Hoping that some info about that comes through in the next couple of weeks, since I need to let my bosses know that I'll be leaving early from work that day, and will need to know what time the pre-show M&G is so I know what time to tell them I need to leave and how much time I need to make up.

*Hint hint!* to the DJ Powers-That-Be -- "Magnificent" really would be an EXCELLENT pre-concert song choice! ;)

You must let me know how the VIP experience works out. I may still one day splurge for the front row. Do you know of any Gomer meetings before the concert? Are you going to the Wired M&G?

I probably wouldn't mess with front row, except that I tend to get irritated when I'm having to dodge the heads of the people in front of me to see when I sit anywhere else. I'm of average height, but it never fails, I somehow always end up with a tall person right in my sightlines. :rolleyes: Even when front row isn't an option, I still try to get into the front of the section that I'm in, or if it's someplace that's got an upper deck, try to wrangle the front row there too. (I'm going with my mother to see Yanni at the RBC at the end of April, and while we're sitting upstairs for it, I still wrangled us row A, so there won't be anyone to block the view of His Yanniness. :P )

I don't know of any Gomer get togethers for before the show, although I'm a bad one to ask since I'm usually running late and miss anything that might be planned anyway. :rolleyes: (Keeping my fingers crossed that I get there in time and don't miss the VIP thing.)

But yes, definitely planning on making the Wired M&G afterwards.

Heh. The last time I saw a 3D concert in Fayetteville was the Christmas show. I remember I saw a coyote loping along the side of the road as I pulled out from the fairgrounds after the concert that night. That was kind of cool, my first time seeing a coyote live and in person. :)

Any bets on whether or not I make it to work on time Thursday morning?! LOL

Sorry, I don't have an extra ticket or know of anyone who does. :( Since this one is midweek, and Concord is too far from Fayetteville for D to come out midweek, I just got the one for myself this time.

But Ticketmaster still has some available, I was able to pull up a few when I checked tonight, Row A in Section 4, which would put you front row of the second section came up, or if you don't mind sitting way along the side in the lower level (which I don't recommend, although maybe the sightlines would be better up there than sitting that far to right on the floor), Row G, section 105 also came up.

Still find myself thinking, in the back of my mind, that since the concert is going to be on April Oneth, that they're really not going to be playing there. That we're all going to show up and when they turn the lights on to start their set, there will just be a big sign on the video screen that says

WE'RE NOT REALLY PLAYING TONIGHT!
APRIL FOOL!!!

I did one there after the Christmas show. I don't know if they're going to hold it in the same area as they did then, but last time, I want to say they told us to meet after the concert in the open area underneath sections 109/110, walked us through the hallway between 108 and 109, and then I don't think we had to go too far beyond that to the left before we got to the M&G area, I think it was just through one more doorway and voila - Meet and Greet. :)

And I always end up coming out a different door at the end of the night than I go in; my parking lot navigational skills leave a lot to be desired, so far as that goes. :rolleyes: I usually just park under a light on my way in, and then just watch for one of the few remaining cars that's still parked under a light by the time I leave the M&G. Then I just hop in, relock the doors, boot up the car and off I go.

Watch for coyotes! ;) That was actually kind of cool that last time. There weren't any other cars on the road at the time, so I just sort of coasted next to him while he was loping along and just watched until I passed him by.

Thanks for the info. I think I know where you're talking about. My college graduation was held there and that looks like the spot where we entered the arena. All the backstage areas are around there. Hope you get your info soon. I'm waiting for the Wired M&G info also. I usually arrive early. I'll have to pay special attention to where I park and wear my coyote repellent!

I agree. Those graphics are really cool. It's almost here! Rain is forcast but that's ok as long as it's not thunder and lightning or tornados. That would make for an interesting wait to get in! LOL

So I asked him what time we should be there for it, and he said

This depends on the promoter, but we usually start 30 min. before
"DOORS." Doors usually open on hour before the show. In short, 5:30.

Which means, me being me, I should figure 5, since my navigation skills go right out the window in Fayetteville for some reason. Plus they are still showing rain for Wednesday, so must allow extra time for that too...

Found out this morning that the Charlottesville U2 tickets are presale-ing tomorrow morning, with still no mention of the Raleigh show being official yet. :eek: I've pretty much thought of nothing else all day!)

I ALWAYS bring my camera! :) So far the only place that's had issues has been at Carrowinds. I've been to Fayetteville for two shows and have yet to have any camera issues with them at all.

If for some reason you don't get a Wired email (I've not gotten one yet either, it'll probably come tomorrow), just find Mike at the Wired table when you get in, and he should tell you what you need to know about the M&G afterwards.

How true. When I went to the MBT concert, I kept asking people at the venue, "Where's the Wired Rep?" No one knew. Fortunately I found him then my name wasn't even on the list! Luckily I had my email. I guess for me the email verifies that my M&G request went through. LOL

Oh sorry you overslept. It was good meeting you last night. I'm sooooo glad I took the day off. I got home at midnight but didn't get to bed until after 1am. Got home and thought - dumb of you to drink that coffee at the M&G but it was good. Glad they have the coffee at the show.

BTW my pictures totally suck. Word to the wise - don't buy cheap - no name camera on Ebay. NOT GOOD!
