You gave me your promise
You gave me your promise, an exceedingly great and precious promise.
You are the light, that leads my feet down the path to what is promised.
The Word is my guide…to understand the way.
The Lord is my shepherd, I shall not wander. The way is clear, if I have ears to hear, and eyes to see. He gives me unending grace…and mercy abounds. His forgiveness encompasses all…His love is like no other.
You gave me your promise…it is all that gets me through the day at times.
This very precious promise…lends strength to my heart…perseverance to my
soul. It enables me to continue on…through the pain…great though it may be…for you oh Lord are greater still. Your light shines upon me…your Spirit guides me…oh how fortunate am I…to be blessed by the Lord.
You gave me your promise…what my Lord am I to give you? I cannot earn this…I don’t deserve it…I can never be good enough. My love you have…my worship is yours…I’ll praise you always, even in the storm…all the glory to you Lord…my repentance is true…my belief in you strong.
You gave me your promise…eternal life…forever with you. Forever to worship you…forever to praise your mighty name…forever to bask in your boundless love.
You gave me your promise…and were willing to suffer great agony to fulfill it.
You took upon yourself the sin of world…and then tasted death…all for love…love so strong, so faithful, so enduring…so beautiful…I cannot grasp it.
Thankyou Lord…I praise your holy name…you gave me your promise.
