Believe it or not, ELO was really a Progressive Rock band.

Almost in the same boat with YES, RUSH, Pink Floyd, and 70's Genesis.

"Blinded by the light. Wrapped up like a ......... (fill in the blank), the runner in the night."

That song is played on Classic Rock stations all the time.

I know of them.

..."Blinded by the light. Wrapped up like a ......... (fill in the blank), the runner in the night."...

I think that's actually Manfred Mann.

I remember that song from it having lyrics posted under several of the "most commonly misheard lyrics" sites. :P The way it actually goes is this:

"Blinded by the light, revved up like a deuce, another runner in the night..."

(And yes, I cheated and looked it up, lol, I can never remember the correct lyrics when I hear the song on the radio, I keep thinking it's - ermm - something else as well.)

I had one ELO record that I got from my sister a long time ago, the double LP "Out of the Blue". LOVED that record. When she moved out she took it with her though, and I never replaced it. :(

"Mister Bluuuue sky.... Mr. Blue Skyyyy..."

I think that's actually Manfred Mann.

Manferd Mann did record it and had a huge hit with it, but Bruce Sprigsteen actually wrote and recorded it first. It was actually his first single, but it failed to make the charts with Springsteen. Don't worry, he ended up doing alright for himself in spite of that.;)
