That's the only way I know to describe yesterday! It was a long day and night of travel but well worth it. Third Day didn't let us down that's for sure. I will try and put our day of activities on here but for now I must have some sleep!!

Started out at 3pm for the 7pm show. Since it was open seating and we knew our chances of driving up close to showtime would not result in the best seats, I left my camera at home. We arrived at 5:30pm and as expected, there were already long lines forming at the doors. At 6pm the doors opened and we sought out our seats. We ended up in the 7th row just right of center stage. Pretty good seats for our little effort. Carl Cartee opened. He was good. Singer/Songwriter - has a mellow sound which was pleasing to the ear.
After a brief intermission it was time for Third Day. The arena which is primarily used for horse shows, had a dirt floor and not acoustically designed for concerts as Mac mentioned during the show. There was a slight echo from the left rear but once the concert got going, I no longer noticed. The guys were well rested and full of energy. They sang both new and old songs. At one point, Mark started playing a guitar solo and Mac walked off stage. Turns out they had a second stage set up in the middle of the floor section and once Mac got back there and started talking to the audience, the rest of the guys joined him and they did the audience requests from there. So now I went from having pretty darn good seats to really bad seats as we were now at the back! Mac took requests and had the requester sing the song. So it was good that I was not close enough to yell my request for them to sing "Communion" cos everyone would have thought they were at the Bad Auditions to American Idol instead of at a 3D concert! They sang a little bit of "Love Song" which I was hoping to hear but didn't get to hear "Communion".
Mark played plenty of guitar solos and they were out of this world! Back on the front stage, they finished their set and came back for an encore. But before that, Mac led prayer and he asked us to ask for healing of whatever we needed and how the band appreciated us and our prayers we offer for them. Mac always makes me cry whether it is a song I really connect with or his prayer as was the case last night. It was special. On to the encore - Mac introduced the band and each one played their instrument for us. I wish that David would play a longer drum solo. He's so awesome and I'd love to hear a few minutes of just David. Scotty was great on keyboard and Tai had the grove going the whole show. The last song was Agnus Dei and one by one they left the stage and finally it was only the audience singing the chorus. It was angelic.
I'm really glad I drove the 2 1/2 hours to see them even though I've got tickets to see them in April in my hometown. My new rule is never miss an opportunity to see Third Day in concert!

Haha, yeah, it's worth a long trip. I am making a four hour trip up to Champaign, IL. March 5th. It's gonna be worth it.
Hmmm... sounds like a new thing that they play at a different location in the concert area.
Yeah, Mac always touches people with prayer and through song. Everytime I hear 'Cry Out To Jesus' I ALWAYS find a tear rolling sown my cheek. I listen to the concerts online (Wired member) and I always find myself crying after prayer and Cry Out To Jesus. I Also cry when the concert's over... because I don't want for it to end!
Yeah, that's how they close out the shows a lot! Once the last one leaves, I usually teary eyes.
Haha, but, thanks for the pictures! Hope you had a blast!

Left home around 1030, arived about 230 or so. Met some nice folks from the area there. They mentioned they had a guitar and mandolin if somebody would play the guitar so we started playing and singing. The promoter came by and asked if we would play and sing for his mother. He brought her back and it was a sweet experience, I saw many tears shed before the show started, just one of those special times you never want to forget. We got front row seats, with Mark right in front of us. We really got inot it Saturday night. Even had Mac put the mic down for us to sing at one point during the night. A long drive home and 3 am arrival but well worth every minute.I don t know who all will read this but to those we met thanks for the fellowship, we will met again if not here when we all get home. And to Chuck and Cameron ya'll are in our prayers!!!!!!!!!!!
