When I climb down from the mountain
And get back to my life
I won't settle for ordinary things
I'm gonna follow you forever
And for all of my days
I won't rest until I see you again

I want Freebird played at my funeral!!! lol

I love these:

Hide behind your walls of maybe nevers
Forgetting that there's something more than just knowing better
Your mistakes do not define you now, they tell you who you're not
You've got to live this life you're given like its the only one you've got

-3 Doors Down "The Only One You've Got"

You can see this broken soul is bleeding
So you concede your feelings inside yourself
And wander through my heart
Letting you see through me
Now only consumes me
For get your pain and watch me fall apart

Please, remember me,
Fondly
I heard from someone you're still pretty
And then,
They went on to say
That the pearly gates had some eloquent graffiti
Like "We'll meet again"
And "**** the man"
And "tell my mother not to worry"

The Trapeze Swinger by Iron and Wine

You know those songs that just make you stop whatever you're doing and just listen to the lyrics, no matter how many times you've heard it before? That's what this song is to me, all 9 minutes of it are incredible...

Tell you the story of who I am
So many stories of where I've been
And how I got to where I am
But these stories don't mean anything

It's true...I was made for you."

OOOHHH. . . Good song. :)

"Well open up your mind and see like me
Open up your plans and damn you're free
Look into your heart and you'll find love love love
Listen to the music of the moment maybe sing with me
A la peaceful melodies
It's your God-forsaken right to be loved love loved love love

So I won't hesitate no more, no more
It cannot wait I'm sure
There's no need to complicate
Our time is short
This is our fate, I'm yours"

I love Jason Mraz. In this song, my favorite line is when he says "It's your God-forsaken right to be loved"

I also love the song Who Needs Shelter by Jason Mraz
"Good-day sunlight,
I'd like to say how truly bright you are
You don't know me but I know you,
You're my favorite star"

Take your time... don't live too fast,
Troubles will come and they will pass.
Go find a woman and you'll find love,
And dont forget son,
There is someone up above

Forget your lust for the rich mans gold
All that you need is in your soul

Simple Man - Lynyrd Skynyrd

This is for the weary and the weak
This is for the broken and ashamed
This is for the hopeless hiding in the shadows cupping hands around a flicker of faith
This is for the ones who don’t belong
This is for the silent castaways
This is for the sinner peeking through the stained glass from a sidewalk in the cold driving rain
We all fall down
We all need saving once in a while
You are not alone
We all lose faith and lean on mercy
But through our darkest night – He said He’d wait for us – just come to Jesus

Come To Jesus - Paul Alan

When you feel like you’re alone in your sadness
And it seems like no one in this whole world cares
And you want to get away from the madness
You just call my name and I’ll be there

Call my name, say it now
I want you to never doubt
The love I have for you is so alive

Call My Name - 3D

Non Third Day.....

HOW GREAT THOU ART

When Christ shall come, with shout of acclamation,
And take me home, what joy shall fill my heart.
Then I shall bow, in humble adoration,
And then proclaim: "My God, how great Thou art!"

Carl G. Boberg and R.J. Hughes

and

I CAN ONLY IMAGINE

Surrounded by Your Glory, what will my heart feel?
Will I dance for you, Jesus? Or in awe of You, be still?
Will I stand in Your presence, or to my knees will I fall?
Will I sing 'Hallelujah!'? Will I be able to speak at all?
I can only imagine! I can only imagine!

I enjoy listening to Jason Mraz from time to time. Tristan Prettyman even more so. Have you ever heard their duet? Give it a listen:

I know my calculus it says you plus me equals us....LOL! I'm kidding of course...

Today is gunna be the last day
Sweepin under the rug what I've done wrong
I'm just like a jet without a runway
Stuck on the ground for so long
Waiting
What are we waiting for?

Before you break my heart
Before I let you go
And turn my whole world upside down
Before you break my heart
I gotta let you know
There's no better time than now

I hurt myself today, To see if I still feel
I focus on the pain, The only thing that's real
The needle tears a hole, The old familiar sting
Try to kill it all away, But I remember everything
What have I become?, My sweetest friend
Everyone I know, Goes away in the end
You could have it all, My empire of dirt
I will let you down, I will make you hurt
I wear this crown of s**t, On my liar's chair
Full of broken thoughts, I cannot repair
Beneath the stain of time, The feeling disappears
You are someone else, I am still right here
What have I become?, My sweetest friend
Everyone I know, Goes away in the end
You could have it all, My empire of dirt
I will let you down, I will make you hurt
If I could start again, A million miles away
I would keep myself, I would find a way

"Hurt" - originally by Nine Inch Nails also done beautifully by Johnny Cash (his last song before his death)

This song has always been VERY powerful to me...

But you're just as far in as you'll ever be out
These mistakes you've made, you'll just make them again
If you only try turning around.

If I get it all down on paper, its no longer

There comes a time,
A time in everyone's life,
When nothing seems to go your way,
When nothing seems to turn out right

There may come a time,
You just can't seem to find your place,
For every door you open,
Seems like you get two slammed in your face

That's when you need someone,
Someone that you, you can call
When all your faith is gone,
It feels like you can't go on.

Let it be me
Let it be me
If it's a friend you need
Let it be me
Let it be me

Feels like you're always comin' up last
Pockets full of nothin', ain't got no cash
No matter where you turn
You ain't got no place to stand
You reach out for somethin' and they slap your hand

I remember all too well
Just how it feels to be all alone
To feel like you'd give anything
For just a little place you can call your own

Thats when you need someone,
Someone that you, you can call.
When all your faith is gone,
It feels like you can't go on

Let it be me
Let it be me
If its a friend you need
Let it be me
Let it be me

As soon as your born they make you feel small,
By giving you no time instead of it all,
Till the pain is so big you feel nothing at all,
A working class hero is something to be,
A working class hero is something to be.
They hurt you at home and they hit you at school,
They hate you if you're clever and they despise a fool,
Till you're so f***ing crazy you can't follow their rules,
A working class hero is something to be,
A working class hero is something to be.
When they've tortured and scared you for twenty odd years,
Then they expect you to pick a career,
When you can't really function you're so full of fear,
A working class hero is something to be,
A working class hero is something to be.
Keep you doped with religion and sex and TV,
And you think you're so clever and classless and free,
But you're still f***ing peasants as far as I can see,
A working class hero is something to be,
A working class hero is something to be.
There's room at the top they are telling you still,
But first you must learn how to smile as you kill,
If you want to be like the folks on the hill,
A working class hero is something to be.
A working class hero is something to be.
If you want to be a hero well just follow me,
If you want to be a hero well just follow me.

I'd forgotten about "3 minute Song" by Josh Wilson ~ I heard it this morning

I tried to write a song, and keep it 3 minutes long
Get in, get out, nobody gets hurt
And I tried a thousand times to fit God between the lines
But I'm finding out that doesn't really work

[Chorus:]
I just don't have the words to say, cause words only get in my way
I must apologize, I have the hardest time
Finding something to define a God that I can't define
And even if I could, it would take way too long
If all I've got's a 3 minute song

I've got a hundred metaphors, and if I had a million more
I could never ever seem to sum this up
Besides, how can some melody communicate eternity?
It's like trying to fit the ocean in a cup

Chorus

I'll never find the words to say cause words only get in the way
I would like to dumb this down to 3 chords, or maybe 4
But I've tried and I can't and I won't cause there will always be more
So I apologize, I can't seem to get it right

Chorus

*What a great line, so true!

I listened to WIRE this weekend, for the first time in a long while.
I'd forgotten what a great album it was!
I've always loved:

"San Angelo"

Forever seems so distant, much further than today
You turn around and in an instant, you find that you are just as far from yesterday
The day it feels like winter, the night it feels like stone
You turn around and you remember, when you’re surrounded you can still feel so alone

Chorus:
But it’s in between the start and end, I find myself once, again questioning this place
Calling out your name, San Angelo, what do you know?
And tell me do you have something to say?
Don’t get me wrong, but I miss my home and it feels like I’m a million miles away
San Angelo

Why do I ask these questions? How come I have these doubts?
'Cause I find every situation, it always seems to have it’s way of working out

Chorus
And it feels like I’m a million miles away
I miss my home

San Angelo, what do you know?
And tell me do you have something to say?
Don’t get me wrong, but I miss my home and it feels like I’m a million miles away
San Angelo

Don’t get me wrong, but I miss my home and it feels like I’m a million miles away

I’m a million miles away
Oh, San Angelo, San Angelo

Don’t tell them Jesus loves them till you’re ready to love them too
Till your heart breaks from the sorrow and the pain they’re going through
With a life full of compassion may we do what we must do
Don’t tell them Jesus loves them till you’re ready to love them too

Why have we waited so long
To show them Jesus lives
To share salvation’s song?

Why have our hearts become so proud
That we fail to see
To love them is to love God?

And a young girl sells herself on Seventh Avenue
Hear her crying out for help
“What will we do?”

The Voice of Truth by Casting Crowns

Oh what I would do to have
The kind of faith it takes to climb out of this boat I'm in
Onto the crashing waves

To step out of my comfort zone
Into the realm of the unknown where Jesus is
And He's holding out His hand

But the waves are calling out my name and they laugh at me
Reminding me of all the times I've tried before and failed
The waves they keep on telling me
Time and time again, 'Boy, you'll never win!'
'You'll never win!'

But the Voice of Truth tells me a different story
The Voice of Truth says, 'Do not be afraid!'
And the Voice of Truth says, 'This is for My glory'
Out of all the voices calling out to me
I will choose to listen and believe the Voice of Truth

Oh what I would do to have
The kind of strength it takes to stand before a giant
With just a sling and a stone
Surrounded by the sound of a thousand warriors
Shaking in their armor
Wishing they'd have the strength to stand

But the giant's calling out my name and he laughs at me
Reminding me of all the times I've tried before and failed
The giant keeps on telling me
Time and time again, 'Boy, you'll never win!'
'You'll never win!'

But the stone was just the right size
To put the giant on the ground
And the waves don't seem so high
From on top of them lookin' down
I will soar with the wings of eagles
When I stop and listen to the sound of Jesus
Singing over me

I will choose to listen and believe the Voice of Truth
Jesus You are the Voice of Truth
And I will listen to You

*I've always loved that line, so true. God never gives us more than we can handle

The Last Supper by Grave Digger

Well done my friend, thanks for the offer
We'll catch him at night to end this game
Take these thirty dimes in a coffer
Meet us at midnight, please hold the flame

Believe my days are counted
I feel the evil breath
The liar sits right by my side
His eyes are full of fear and pride

IT'S MY LAST SUPPER
AFTER THIS I WILL DIE
IT'S MY LAST SUPPER
MY OWN SACRIFICE

Welcome my friends
come celebrate with me
You are invited to take a place
Feat and drink as much as you will
Before they start the race of death

Believe my days are counted
I feel the evil breath
The liar sits right by my side
His eyes are full of fear and pride

IT'S MY LAST SUPPER
AFTER THIS I WILL DIE
IT'S MY LAST SUPPER
MY OWN SACRIFICE

My end is near
Come pray with me
My fortune is over
But love can be

Whenever I die
Please let me fly
Remember me
And love can be

Believe my days are counted
I feel the evil breath
The liar sits right by my side
His eyes are full of fear and pride

IT'S MY LAST SUPPER
AFTER THIS I WILL DIE
IT'S MY LAST SUPPER

What a Day-Phil Keaggy

When I get Home I will see all
The holy men I read about.
Peter and John, James, Luke, and Paul
And brother Tom without a doubt.
And I do believe there will be
King David at the harp
A song of praise with every chord.
What a sight to see, the redeemed and
The angels gathered round worshiping the Lord.
What a day that will be
Oh what a day that will be!

When we get Home, our Eternal Home
There'll be no more sick and dying.
No one is sad, no one is alone
And there will be no more crying.
He will wipe away every tear
From His children's eyes
And put a smile upon their faces.
What a happy day when we see
Our Lord in Paradise
Crowned as King of Kings.
What a day that will be
Oh what a day that will be!

What a day, what a day,
What a day that will be..........

It's funny...I heard this song on the radio & recognized it as the David Crowder Band & thought to myself, "Hmmm...I know this song. Where have I heard it before?"

Turns out it was recorded by one of my favorite new bands, The Glorious Unseen. It's on their latest CD, "Hope That Lies in You," that came out about a month before DCB's "Church Music."

"How He Loves" by John Mark McMillan

Oh, how He loves us so. Oh, how He loves us. How He loves us so...

He is jealous for me. He loves like a hurricane.
I am a tree, bending beneath the weight of His wind and mercy.
When all of a sudden, I am unaware of these afflictions - eclipsed by glory.
And I realize just how beautiful You are, and how great Your affections are for me.

And oh, how He loves us so. Oh, how He loves us. How He loves us so...

He loves us so. He loves us so.
He loves us. Oh, how He loves us.
Oh, how He loves us. Oh, how He loves.

We are His portion; He is our prize -
drawn to redemption by the grace in His eyes.
If grace is an ocean - we’re all sinking.

And then heaven meets earth like a sloppy wet kiss.
My heart turns violently inside of my chest.
And I don’t have time to maintain these regrets,
when I think about the way... He loves us.

Oh, how He loves us. Oh, how He loves us. Oh, how He loves.
Yeah, He loves us. Oh, how He loves us. Oh, how He loves us. Oh, how He loves.

And oh, how He loves us so. Oh, how He loves us. How He loves us so...

I love that song Rainlily.

Had a car load of girlfriends a couple of weekends ago on our way to a Beth Moore conference. I kicked off the car ride with that song! (My car, my rules don'tcha know!!)

Wish I could love like He does.

I love this song from Casting Crown's newest CD "Until the Whole World Hears"

Glorious Day (living He Loved Me)

One day when Heaven was filled with His praises
One day when sin was as black as could be
Jesus came forth to be born of a virgin
Dwelt among men, my example is He
Word became flesh and the light shined among us
His glory revealed

Living, He loved me
Dying, He saved me
Buried, He carried my sins far away
Rising, He justified freely forever
One day He’s coming
Oh glorious day, oh glorious day

One day they led Him up Calvary’s mountain
One day they nailed Him to die on a tree
Suffering anguish, despised and rejected
Bearing our sins, my Redeemer is He
Hands that healed nations, stretched out on a tree
And took the nails for me

One day the grave could conceal Him no longer
One day the stone rolled away from the door
Then He arose, over death He had conquered
Now He’s ascended, my Lord evermore
Death could not hold Him, the grave could not keep Him
From rising again

One day the trumpet will sound for His coming
One day the skies with His glories will shine
Wonderful day, my Beloved One, bringing
My Savior, Jesus, is mine

"While you Were Sleeping" by Casting Crowns from "Peace on Earth"

Oh little town of Bethlehem
Looks like another silent night
Above your deep and dreamless sleep
A giant star lights up the sky
And while you're lying in the dark
There shines an everlasting light
For the King has left His throne
And is sleeping in a manger tonight, tonight

Oh Bethlehem, what you have missed while you were sleeping
For God became a man
And stepped into your world today
Oh Bethlehem, you will go down in history
As a city with no room for its King
While you were sleeping
While you were sleeping

Mary shivers in the cold
Trying to keep the Savior warm
Born among the animals wrapped in dirty rags
Because there was no room for Him in the world He came to save

United States of America
Looks like another silent night
As we're sung to sleep by philosophies
That save the trees and kill the children
And while we're lying in the dark
There's a shout heard 'cross the eastern sky
For the Bridegroom has returned
And has carried His bride away in the night

America, what will we miss while we are sleeping?
Will Jesus come again
And leave us slumbering where we lay?
America, will we go down in history
As a nation with no room for its King?
Will we be sleeping?
Will we be sleeping?

United States of America
Looks like another silent night
