IF you plan on going, are you going to buy a VIP seat? I'm debating since I'm a Wired Member but my 2 concert buddies are not and it looks like other concerts on this tour have been charging $75.00 for the seats. I'd like to hear from anyone who'se been in the front row - recommend it or not?

Front row is a great place to be, definitely. (Just watch which section you end up in, too far to the left, or too far to the right, and suddenly being in the front is NOT so great.)
I paid, what was it, $125?, for front row for the Raleigh Music Builds show. And this was after already spending $60 or whatever it was for 7th row during the presale, which I was fortunately able to sell without too much trouble.
But I helped justify the $125 by the fact that I hadn't spent ANYTHING on the 2 or 3 other closest 3D shows that I'd had to miss since they just weren't THAT close. :)
And since I'm again having to miss the Williamston show in February, if I end up having to pay $75 for front row for Fayetteville, well, same thing, the money that I DIDN'T have to spend for Williamston will help make up the cost for Fayetteville. :)

I noticed at Raleigh that there were camera men blocking the view of some concert goers. I've only been to one other Third Day show and that was the Christmas Show in Fayetteville. Is there ususally camera persons hanging around the front stage?

Read what Tai says on the Wired blog about the VIP seats:

Yup. Read that. :)
Don't really need the extra CD or the other M&G, but taking into consideration that "...the VIP packages do often contain the best location tickets...", if the best one can do with non-VIP tickets is something like 4th or 5th row, to me it's worth the extra bucks to not have to be dodging all the Big Head Todds in the first several rows. :) Especially if it turns out to be the only show I make it to again this year.
And far be it from me to turn down an extra CD (they make great travel bugs to stick into a geocache - one of my extra WYA's started out in NC and ended up in Ohio, or Indiana, or somewhere like that the last time, before someone liked it enough that they kept it  ) - or M&G if it comes included in the deal.

If there are, for the most part, I haven't found them to be an issue. I think they were so noticeable at the Raleigh show because they allow us to sit that close to the stage there at Walnut Creek, so the camera guys were right in our faces part of the time; most other shows I've been to, front row hasn't been NEARLY that close, and if there are cameras in the gap between the front row and the stage, they've not been in the way all that much.

Thanks for the info. I guess I'll wait and see just how much $$ the tickets are and then see how good my seat choice is. The closest I've ever gotten to any concert is 6th row which were still pretty awesome. I always sit center section.

Just got an e mail indicating the Wired pre-sale for this show is on Friday. It also says these are the last batch of tour shows to go up for sale. I listened to the Asheville show on Wired radio and Mac mentions playing in Greensboro or somewhere else around there for the spring tour. I guess he wasn't kidding about not being good with geography. :)

I would love to be able to make it, although a Wed night just doesn't seem to work for me....we are working with bare min at the office and it is hard to get time off. I'm a whimp when it comes to lack of sleep; I need at least 6 hours and with the drive it would be too late getting home :(

I hear you, sister. :) I may have to wait until SonFest before I see them this year.
