A giant "in the industry" so to speak has gone to be with the Lord. Fr. Neuhaus was an incredible figure in the church and the church militant on earth has lost a great one today. May he rest peacefully in the arms of His Savior, whom he knew was the reason he had anything in life.

I was sad to read about this also. He has earned his reward and has seen the face of God. How awesome can that be? We will be lost without his wisdom but he left us with plenty of tools to guide us in our journey to the treasure of heaven.

Thought you would be interested in reading this from Gary Bauer's End of Day Report:

Farewell, Father Neuhaus

It’s been a difficult few months for the conservative community. Many of our greatest leaders and visionaries have passed on. This week, we lost a faithful shepherd, brilliant writer and insightful theologian to cancer. The Reverend Richard John Neuhaus was the founder and editor of the influential Catholic journal First Things.

He was also a leader in bringing Catholics and evangelicals together in defense of our shared values, and a man I had the privilege of knowing and working with for twenty-five years. Fr. Neuhaus will be missed but not forgotten.

To be fair to Fr. Neuhaus, I think he'd rather we pray for him, just in case...

Eternal rest grant unto him, O Lord, and may perpetual light shine upon him.
May his soul, and the souls of all the faithful departed, through the mercy of God, rest in peace!
