Carolina at Green Bay - Pretty much just wishful thinking, but I can't go against my team!

Atlanta at San Diego
Pittsburgh at New England
Denver at NY Jets
Kansas City at Oakland
Chicago at Minnesota - Now I REALLY wish the Packers had won their game this past week cause this game could've meant big things as far as standings go! Now the best we'll get is tied for second. *sigh*
MON, DEC 1
Jacksonville at Houston
My "opposite of Jason" picks only netted me a loss of a singe point in the chase for the mod title in the second half. I think I'll just have some fun with the picks until the playoffs and see what happens.
It's time for whack picks! This week, in homage to the South, I will pick the geographically southern most team in each game. A couple of these were pretty close (Atlanta/San Diego, Oakland/KC). Thank goodness for Google maps.

Did you have to look on a map or did you know that already?
Hello? How is Houston more "southern" than Jacksonville?
Luckily for me "geographically" it is. Besides, I could not bring myself to pick against my home team. Especially for Jacksonville. The Texans own the Jags ;) .
BTW, how do you define "southern"? That might be worth a whole thread!

Hey, wait a minute.....
Today Indy - who started life in Baltimore - goes into Cleveland, who lost their previous team to Baltimore to replace the Colts. Which means the Colts are playing a team that replaced a team which left town in order to replace them after they left town.....
Sheesh, no wonder the NFL is so screwed up.......:D

at least Baltimore had the decency to leave the Browns name and legacy in Cleveland where it belonged

at least Baltimore had the decency to leave the Browns name and legacy in Cleveland where it belongedActually, Baltimore didn't have much of a choice. The NFL mandated that in order for Art Modell to move the team the Browns name, colors, team records, etc. would be left in Cleveland with the promise that Cleveland would get a new team (by either expansion or relocation) three years after the original team relocated to Baltimore.

You know Jim, I should know by now that when you pick against Denver they're probably going to win. So, that means I should pick them to win. Do I though? Of course not! Yeesh! :D

I'm sure that if Art Modell wanted too he could have brought the Browns name to Baltimore along with the team (and thank God he didn't), just like the Rams to St Louis, Colts to Indy, and Al Davis flip flopping back and forth between LA and Oakland . NFL mandates don't carry much weight at all. it just shows the character of Art Modell compared to the others. when Irsay left Baltimore (in the middle of the night) he promised to give the Colts name and legacy back if Baltimore ever got another team. when the Browns moved to Baltimore the Irsay's reneged on that promise
Turkey week was an interesting one. Two things stood out: Three games had only one player pick the winner (Philadephia, San Francisco, Denver) and my wacky picks actually landed me third for the week with 17 points. Go figure.
Winners for the week were EyeHeart3D and jrmitch with 19 points each. Great job! DR.SCHWANK had a good week with 18 points to stay close to the overall lead.
