I am attending community college now I have a GPA of 2.8. Which I am not happy with, I am now taking 3 classes failing one and doing pretty good in the others I might get an A and B. I still have plenty of classes to take for my major. But the thing is the major I will switch too(probably tomorrow) Business is not required the class I am failing in. The other two are(one I am retaking because I got an unfair C in and the other is an elective)
I was majoring in Network Management in which Business was required and I will major in computer info security which business is not required. This will be only the second class I have failed and I hate that fact.
I have taken two computer classes and did very well in both A in one and B in the other(only one of those two is required anyway)
I hate failing classes and not doing well but I gave up on business. How bad will the damage be do you think? esp. since business is not a required course?
is there a way to substantially redeem my dropping GPA?

is it too late for you to drop your business class with a "w"? If not, I'd do that pronto.
And I don't know how much (if any) extra $$ you have, but I'd take some blowoff online classes to try to get your GPA up. Or a few over the summer--something really easy, like a 1000 level communications or something.

I was considering taking some extra classes. I always wanted to take literature(ENG 102)
I talked to the director of my college's satellite center I told him my situation and he said that those 2 A's I might get will most likely balance out that F and my GPA could either stay where it is at or go up just a little bit at least

I agree with Buttabean. See if you can still withdraw without penalty. You can also withdraw failing and it won't be averaged in your GPA. It will still show up on your transcript though, so you would have to weigh that out.
Yeah, you do need to consider what your academic plans are after graduating. I work in an admissions office, and WF's (Withdrew-failing) are no different to me than an F. But definitely look into dropping the course.
Be careful with taking Lit as a blow-off course. Usually there is a lot of work involved with ENG100-level classes.
GPA is a ratio. To raise a ratio you either have to raise the top number or lower the bottom number (# of hours attempted) ... You can't lower the bottom number so your only hope for raising your GPA is to get better grades in the future.

its to late to drop the course
What about withdrawing? This is a different thing than dropping.
Reminds me of a friend who had a 4.0 for the first 2 years until she got a B in a class. The next semester she told me she really needed to hit the books hard so she could get that 4.0 back. I just looked at her and said, "You're not a Math major, are you?"

HAH! I am a double major in Physics and Mathematics and can relate! Definitely get weird looks, haha. But Ph.D.s don't come easy... :)

I signed up for two CIS courses this coming spring plus an online CPL course but I dont know about the CPL course I might drop it.
career preperation is what it is and its only one credit so how hard can it be the class doesn't even last an hour if you take it in person
