Here's a place to talk about offseason moves in the MLB.

I shall start by shouting at the top of my lungs:
NOOOOOO!!!!

Why did the Rockies trade Matt Holliday? Bad idea...very bad. He is pretty much the heart and soul of that team. He was probably the biggest leader of the team behind Todd Helton. Why must the Monforts do this to me? Thus endeth my lament....for now.

Probably because they know they couldnt keep him after this year. The good news is they got a stud in Carlos Gonzalez and they should get some talent for Huston Street.

What I question is why the A's would trade for him. Sure, they will undoubtedly ship him off in July for prospects, but do they honestly think they can get someone as good as Carlos Gonzalez? I guess time will tell.

I'm interested in seeing what the Braves do. I'm not sold on Lowe, Burnett, or Dempster and those seem to be the 3 they will target on the free agent market. I hope they can get Peavey from SD and sign Furcal.

I am so with you on the Bravos, I am concerned about what they seem to be giving up for Peavy, especially Escobar. But the Braves are desperate for pitching right now with Jurrjens and Campillo the only solid starters on the team as of now.

I hate this:

"The Reds will be bottom feeders."

Waiting for the free agents to sort out - what a bunch of baloney.

Unfortunately the Orioles are in year twelve or rhe rebuilding process:rolleyes: . Hopefully they can sign some pitching help seeing as our young pitchers aren't doing so well as a whole.

the last thing the orioles need to do is overpay for big name free agent pitchers. I keep hearing they're in the running for AJ Burnett. They need to avoid him like the plague. They need to completely revamp their farm system and build up like the Rays did and like the Yankees and Braves did in the 90's.

If I was Angelos, I would trade Brian Roberts, Kevin Millar, Huff, and Mora. If they hold onto these guys too long, they wont get any value in return. Then they need to sign Markakis to a long term deal. Of Course, Angelos is completely incapable of making a rational decision and will probably give Burnett 130 mil and kill any chance of roster flexibility for the next 5 seasons.
