Dude - how are you not the size of a house?

Anyone who reads his 'twittering' will have noticed just lately how much his content revolves around food!
;)

How can I read his twitter? He won't approve my friend request on facebook. Stephanie did though.

Same here - I am also Stephanies friend, but not Marks!
You can read his twitter on a side bar on either the third day blog or Mark's personal blog http://marklee.typepad.com/

I'm sure he will Jason. Just because he twitters and it gets added to Facebook doesn't mean he is actually on Facebook.

Or just call him out in your status like Christy did. That was too funny. I think he did twitter something the other day about "be patient, I promise I will approve your friend request". But, ya know, he's busy eating candy bars, getting his nails done, and taking his wife to Bon Jovi shows. He'll get to you I'm sure.

Posted 4/27 on facebook by Mark:

Mark promises that he respond to your facebook friend request ASAP. He's a little swamped. And he feels a little awkward talking about himself in the third person.10:25am

:D His one liners are a trip. One of the better blogs out there right now. I'd read it even if I didn't dig Third Day's music.

I don't get the twitters, but I think I updated my quote at about the same time he put that in a twitter. Emily sent me a note with that update. Great minds I tell you. Therefore, I am being patient, but not holding my breath!

Maybe Stephanie will be my friend. I didn't know if I should ask.

Mark is not big is a house because he is so active. You know he runs alot.

OK so I'm halfway there! I've only got like 35 more Facebook friends to add and I'll be caught up! And yes, you're right. Twitter updates my status automatically. I get on there a few times a week to check my inbox and I usually forget to check on friend requests!

Yes, I do have a pitiful diet, but I do try to exercise a good deal :)

Okay, I've got to say it. I don't get why anyone would want to do Twitter or Tumblr when Facebook does everything they do.

I take that back. The only thing Facebook's status line doesn't do is to tell you who is following you. I guess you just assume it's your friends. But you can have it on your phone. (I get a text message everytime Mark Twitters. That way I always know what he's eating! ;) ) And I can update from my phone. I also get a text for various other Facebook functions that I select on the Mobile Settings page. (It's fun for poke wars with people you love!)

As far as Tumblr, I take photos and send them right to my Facebook, with captions, so it's just like Tumblr. Not sure if I can do little blogs from there. I can on Typepad (and also send pictures to Typepad). But if I wanted to do a little blog, I could always take a picture and type it out as a caption.

I set up a Twitter, just to see if I liked it, but I don't see enough of a difference to continue to use it. (Besides, I think it's annoying to have your status say "Corrine is Twittering:" ) But I think I'll streamline back to just using Facebook for status updates. I've already got too many places online to visit everyday! (Yeah, I'm addicted to the internet, or actually to all of you and seeing what you are all up to on any given day.)

So those of you who use Twitter and/or Tumblr, why do you like them?

EmmoGomer
05-06-2008, 10:12 AM
I have people on Twitter who I don't have on Facebook. I also like having yet another place to see what people are up too!! It's linked to Facebook and MySpace so I don't have to keep posting my status all over the place.

I love the status feature. That's something on my Gomertopia wish list. Too bad you can't link your Twitter to the boards.

I am not tech savvy enought to figure our how to get my random thoughts to facebook from my cell. If there is a way, I have not done the homework enough. Twitter does it for me. I have always talked to myself (I know  ), and now I feel I'm justified in that I am now talking to my friends, not myself.... "Did that make sense?" "Yes, Rhonda, I think it did."

It's fun to have someplace to post those little random thoughts. I don't know if anyone reads mine, but it's fun just to write them. :D

A lot of people have said they can't figure out the mobile Facebook. Here's what you do.

Facebook.com --> Top right, all the way up, click Account --> Click the Mobile tab --> Activate Facebook Mobile by putting in your phone number and following the direction

At the very bottom of the page, click Go to Facebook Mobile » At the top of the next page, click Edit Mobile Settings. This is the page where you tell it what you want them to send you text messages about. Options are Pokes, Messages, Comments, Wall Posts, Friend Requests, and then you choose who and which things you want those things sent to you about. (For example, it can send me texts when I get a photo comment on just my mobile uploaded photos or on all my photos or none at all.)

Below that, it says, Whose status updates should go to my phone? That is where you build a list of those friends whose status updates you want to receive a text message about.

And then there are things about when they can send you texts (like not when you are at work or sleeping) and how many a day they can send you (helpful if you do not have unlimited text messaging.)

If someone updates their status and it sends you a text message, you can send them a private facebook message by responding to that text.

To update your status mobily, you have to have the ability to get online from your cell phone. (There might be a way to do it via text message, but I haven't found it yet.) On your phone, go to the Internet and bookmark m.facebook.com.

To update your status from your phone, get online on your phone and go to that bookmark for m.facebook.com. Then highlight your status, click Edit, type it out, click OK, move your cursor down to highlight Update, and click the enter button on your phone. That updates your status.

If you can get online via your cell phone, you have all of Facebook at your fingertips. You can do pretty much everything on the mobile site.

I sound like a commercial for Facebook. But I do love it!

mobile facebook can be used to track somebody, like a married couple can use it to find out where their spouse is. that's a little weird lol.

i'm not sure if you can do that now but they're working on it.

LOL no i think it's simpler than that. i'm not sure if they have to have mobile facebook too but seems like it can track their cell phone signal. if i find the story on it i'll post it on here.

I was getting Mark's Twitters on my phone. Yes I say WAS...:(
He is really good at Twittering and very, very funny. I kinda miss the updates.

You see, I sometimes have a bad habit of forgetting to turn my phone off at night and thats when y'all are awake, on the other side of the world & Twittering. I think my hubby got tired of having his heart jump out of his chest each time I received a Text. My text ring tone is Ernie from Sesame Street calling :

WhhhooOOOOP! HERE FISHIE FISHIE FISHIE!!!
It is VERY loud at 2am!
I wouldnt know. I dont hear a thing!;) :P

That is hilarious! I love that skit. :D

I haven't heard anything from Mark all day! :( I'm going through withdrawals! Do you think he's alright? He hasn't Twittered all day! ;)

Twitter seems to go down a lot. At least, the week I spent with Janet, it was down for a few days. I'd get Facebook updates and she wasn't getting any from Twitter on the same people.

It was funny, y'all. We'd be out around Nashville or here at my house and we'd both vibrate, "Oh! Someone's doing something! Who is it? What are they doing?!" :D

I just twittered in response to this post. How weird is that?

I have about 4 tweets under my belt today. A little low, I know. But what's weird is Facebook hasn't been updated. It's weird when web apps don't play nice!

I love tumblr. It's so simple and elegant. MySpace, Facebook, and even blogs when you don't consciously reign them in, feel kind of cluttered. I love and use all those other things, don't get me wrong, but my little tumblelog is probably my favorite thing I'm doing online right now:

http://www.markleerocks.com/

I could see Tumblr being perfect for someone who doesn't spend much time online but wants to maintain a web presence. It's also great for somebody like me who maintains more than one blog - you can feed those straight into Tumblr. I'm using it as my personal "homepage" - I can put this one URL in email signatures or give it out to friends. Simple and easy. I love it...

Ya'll just have too much time on your hands! It's hard enough for me to keep up here and on the DR boards. The only time I go to my MySpace is when someone sends me something.

Of course there's nothing going on that is "blogworthy" (yes, that is now a word). Here's my blog

Ernie rocks!;)
We have 'rediscovered' our love for all things Sesame Street because Caleb is nuts about Elmo, Ernie and Cookie.

I have been thinking about making my own Blog. I am online way too much as it is....and I dont know if I have anything 'blog worthy'....and WHO would want to follow me?
Its cool if Mark - the Master of Cool - asks crazy questions out of the box.
Me...if I do that, even if its the same question, leaves people shaking their heads in sympathy for me!:P
Honest! I tried it!;) :P

It's so not fair that you Twitter in response to my post and I didn't get a text about it because it didn't go to Facebook! That would have been good for a laugh right out loud!

It said: I'm reading a post on the 3D message boards about why I'm not twittering today. Twittering about it seemed to be my most logical response! :P

It's nice that you have a place to pull all your webspaces together. Makes it easier to find everything. You ought to put a link to your 3D Boards profile on there. That way, people can easily find all of your posts as well.

You can always tell when he is doing something with Abby, Corrine goes,, Ah.....then tells me what they are doing. I must subscribe, my interpreter is states away.... Now I sound obsessed. I'm not, well, not really. Updates by text message just add a little spice to life. It's fun to see what your friends are doing at any given time. It's not always interesting in itself, but most people find a clever way to write about the mundane, so it's always worth a chuckle. I love it when someone updates!

And then there's the Facebook Pokes. They are just a little way of saying to a friend, "Hey, I'm thinking about you!" Makes me feel all warm and fuzzy inside when I get one. I have one friend that sends me pokes all day long. He and I have had a poke war going on since Thanksgiving! It's too fun (or I'm too stubborn) to stop! :P

I don't know what I'm going to do this week when I'm out of the country. I will yesly go through text message withdrawals!

I am glad you explained the poke. I have yet to understand the poke, but I do enjoy a good pokin' now and then! So here I go off to poke.

There is so much to keep up with! I thought I was doing good because I resisted the myspace and only have a facebook. I so want a twitter and a blog, but aahhhhh, so much to keep up with!

No wonder it took poor Mark Lee to accept his friends. Here I have just been sitting by the facebook and waiting and he is doing all those things he does!

I love the twitter thing you all do (very entertaining). I say no on the mobile upload, cause I can barely stand getting texts from those I know and love. Not that I don't know and love some of you, but I'm not responsible for you, and I get enough from those who need me. :P
