truth is stranger than fiction...

I'm back...so many memories and what a wild time...

Funny you mention that Wired. I was watching CNN in our cabin and saw TWO times a quick blip on the ticker at the bottom about "...alleged UFO incidents". My wife got mad cause I wanted to see what they were talking about-- the whole blurb but missed it twice...

Got a link Bro?

Wait till ya'll hear our story of this trip....hilarious...

..oh and I was 500 feet from the starting point of the Bermuda Triangle....spooky... :P

Pilot recalls encounter with UFO
f you believe former fighter pilot Milton Torres' story — and news organizations around the world are running with it — the U.S. Air Force was seconds from attacking an alien aircraft over England late one cloudy night in 1957.

Possible interstellar war was averted when the unidentified flying object sped away.

"It was not made of this earth," said Torres, 77, a retired Florida International University engineering professor.

Torres' account was included in thousands of pages of UFO-related documents recently declassified by the British Ministry of Defense and posted online by the British national archive.

To everyone's surprise, the truth was not just out there, but in Kendall, Fla., where Torres lives with his wife, Dorothy.

Torres' account begins with him scrambling his F-86D Sabre jet from an airfield in Kent, near the southeast coast, to intercept what he has since called a UFO circling East Anglia.

He was 24, flying a plane designed to repel Soviet incursions.

Ground control vectored him in at top speed, around 700 miles per hour, and gave the order to "fire a full salvo of rockets at the UFO."

From 15 miles away, he locked on. The target on his radar screen was as big as an aircraft carrier. He was on course to intercept in 10 seconds but still hadn't seen the thing when it started to move away from him. He wasn't overtaking anymore — it was escaping at 200 knots, maybe faster, since that was the maximum speed displayed by the onboard computer.

Within seconds, the UFO was off lock; soon, it vanished from his radar screen and from ground control's, as well, with no one having actually laid eyes on the thing.

Back at the airfield, Torres was told the mission would be considered classified. The next day, an American civilian who looked "like a well-dressed IBM salesman, with a dark blue trench coat," debriefed him and warned that he would be breaching national security if he talked about what had happened.

Did UFO fly over our skies?
HE intriguing possibility that a real UFO may have passed over Havering was revealed this week.

Documents released for the first time state that 17-years ago, a mysterious missile-shaped object travelling at an estimated 120mph, almost caused an aeroplane on route from Milan to Heathrow to crash in the Kent countryside at 7.58pm on April 21st 1991.

The unexplained close encounter is one of many recounted in military UFO documents released by the National Archives this week.

The baffling incident caused the captain of the Alitalia plane, carrying 57 passengers, to shout: "Look out, look out!" to his co-pilot as he attempted to avert a mid-air collision at 22,000 feet.

The sighting lasted around 3.5 seconds before the strange craft disappeared from radar screens.

Just over two hours later Brentwood Police received a report of a dark flying object that had no engine noise or lights. Although no reports exist, it almost certainly would have passed over Havering.

The case was investigated by the Civil Aviation Authority and military experts were forced to rule out the possibility of it being a missile, weather balloon, or space rocket.

Their final conclusion was that the craft was in fact a UFO.

UFO encounter described by Italian pilot
Captain Achille Zaghetti was flying from Milan to Heathrow when he and his co-pilot saw a mysterious khaki-coloured, missile-shaped object streaking across the sky above the Kent countryside.

The 10ft-long UFO came so close to the airliner that Capt Zaghetti shouted "Look out! Look out!" to his co-pilot, who also spotted the object.

"It was shaped like a cigar and passed very close, about 300 metres on the right, or 1,000ft," Capt Zaghetti told Italian newspapers, recalling the incident over Lydd, Kent, in 1991.

"It was military beige in colour. My co-pilot and I estimated that it was about three metres long. It was in the evening – around 8 or 9pm – when it is still light at altitude but dark on the ground," said Capt Zaghetti, who lives in Grosseto, Tuscany.

"It could have caused a terrible accident. If you're flying at 700 kilometres an hour, hitting an object of 1kg is like hitting something which weighs 700kg." The UFO was seen on radar by air traffic controllers at Heathrow, who were guiding a British Airways flight into land.

Capt Zaghetti asked the control tower: "Do you see something behind me?" Twenty or 30 seconds later Heathrow officials affirmed that there was an object near the airliner.

The incident was described in MoD files released this week by the National Archive.

Defence officials ruled out the possibility of the object being a British or American missile and said the sighting had no rational explanation.

UFO archives reveal pilot's encounter
1957 Incident; British Defence Ministry opens files to public
On the night of May 20, 1957, at the height of the Cold War, Milton Torres, a U. S. fighter pilot based out of Manston, Kent, received orders to scramble his F-86 D Sabre jet against an unknown threat somewhere over the English countryside.

He and another pilot rushed to their jets and took off, immediately receiving directions to engage an unidentified flying object caught on radar hovering about 32,000 feet above East Anglia.

"I shall never forget it," Mr. Torres, now 77 and living in Miami, said. "On that night, I was ordered to open fire even before I had taken off. That had never happened before."

In a report filed 20 years ago and released to the public for the first time yesterday, Mr. Torres described being ordered to track down and destroy a UFO while being updated on its "strange antics" from ground control. As he and the other pilot approached at full speed, the order to lock on to the target and fire their rockets was sent.

Mr. Torres's recounting of this spectacular close encounter and the Ministry of Defence's response were among hundreds of UFO sightings made public by Britain's Ministry of Defence yesterday.

Britain opens secret UFO files to public
Officials easily dismissed numerous reports of UFOs tracking the London sky in 1989 as a laser light show at an outdoor Tina Turner rock concert at Wembley Stadium.

But not all "flying saucer" sightings between 1986 and 1992 have been as easily explained, according to primary documents made available to the public for the first time by Britain's National Archives on Monday.

The more than 4,500-page online document is the second batch of testimonies chock-full of shimmering objects, mysterious crop circles and creatures from another dimension collected by British military and released this month. It includes first-hand accounts such as:

* Statements from police officers in West Yorkshire describing sightings of "bright lights in the night sky"
* Testimony collected from a U.S. Airforce Sabre jet pilot ordered to "shoot down a UFO" flying over eastern England during the height of the Cold War
* A letter from a person dubbed "alien-spotter extraordinaire" who reported regular alien visits since 1982

Another of the 19 files released by the British Ministry of Defence to the National Archives details a near-miss with a possible UFO and passenger jet carrying 57 people en route from Milan to London's Heathrow Airport on April 21, 1991.

UFO eludes U.S. pilots. Brits unperturbed
Terry McConnell, The Edmonton Journal
Published: 1:33 am

One of the great traits of the British people is their seemingly innate capacity to apply linear thinking to most any dilemma. Take, for instance, if someone in Britain spots a UFO. Once the Queen's government determines the alien spacecraft poses no threat to British security, they leave it alone to cruise their airspace without scrutiny. After all, it's not bothering anyone.

That became apparent when Her Majesty's defence ministry released dozens of previously secret files involving strange objects in the air. Most were never investigated beyond the initial sighting because they were not deemed a threat.

There was one exception to the UFO no-foul rule, however, and it came in May of 1957, perhaps because it involved American pilots and not those in the ranks of the Royal Air Force. Here's what happened:
It was the height of the Cold War and two U.S. jet fighters based in Britain were scrambled to track down a UFO over the English countryside -- and shoot it down.

"On that night, I was ordered to open fire even before I had taken off. That had never happened before," said one of the pilots, Milton Torres, now 77 and living in Miami.

According to the Times of London, Torres was mere seconds away from firing 24 rockets at the object, which his radar indicated was the size of "a flying aircraft carrier." It had been floating motionless in the sky but, before Torres could fire, it flew away at an estimated speed of 12,000 kilometres an hour.

"I felt very much like a one-legged man in an ***-kicking contest," he said.

Afterwards -- and in true X-Files fashion, Torres said he was visited by a shadowy figure, who "looked like a well-dressed IBM salesman." The pilot was told he must never talk of the incident. Insert creepy music here.

Will India reveal the existence of the UFO bases in the moon?
India Daily Technology Team
Oct. 25, 2008

The spacecraft, was launched on October 22, India is on its way to moon. But there is a major debate in process within Indian Government and Indian Space Research Organization. The debate is on telling the truth to the world about the existence of the UFO bases in the moon.

The Indian spacecraft carrying 11 payloads (scientific instruments) weighs about 1,380 kg at the time of its launch.

The spacecraft is shaped like a cuboid with a solar panel projecting from one of its sides. The state-of-the-art sub-systems of the spacecraft facilitate safe and efficient functioning of its 11 payloads.

It is powered by a single solar panel generating a maximum power of 700W. A 36 Ampere-Hour (AH) Lithium ion battery supplies power when the sun does not illuminate the solar panel.

"To make Chandrayaan-1 escape from orbiting the earth and to travel towards the moon, its Liquid Apogee Motor (LAM) is used. Liquid propellants needed for LAM as well as thrusters are stored onboard the spacecraft.

The craft's dual gimbaled antenna is transmitting scientific data gathered by its 11 payloads to earth.

India may surprise the world. The surprise may come any time. The country must reveal the existence of the underground infrastructure of UFO bases.
