So I'm sure a lot of you may think that a hot dog is just a hot dog, but really, when there's so many different varieties, you have to realize at some point that there are really some exceptional hot dogs.
I've been watching Martha Stewart and the show today is dedicated to one of the best foods ever created, the hot dog! I can't exactly call myself a hot dog connoisseur, but I know a good hot dog.
By far the best hot dog I've ever tasted was the Slots-A-Fun $.99 1/2 pound hot dog. And the biggest. We were in Vegas, it was 1 am and we were tired of walking down the strip looking for a place we could find cheap food and we didn't really want a buffet. So we settled in at a McDonald's, even though I don't like McDonald's. Well as we were sitting there deciding what to do, I noticed the Slots-A-Fun casin next door, but what had caught my attention was the sign for the 1/2 pound super cheap hot dog. So yeah, it was a pretty amazing dog. So good!!! Yeah those dogs are amazing...
So what is your favorite hot dog? Where'd you get it? And post addresses too if you can!

I've had the 1/2-pound dog in Circus-Circus, which was very good too. But then along the strip we found a 3/4-pound one, so I jumped at it and it was terrible

You're thinking of the Slots-A-Fun, its not in Circus-Circus. It is, however, directly next door, in the same parking lot.

Best hot dogs in the known universe at the Dew Drop Inn in Mobile, AL at the intersection of Old Shell and Lafayette. Parking is a nightmare, but the food is worth it.

In New Jersey there's a roadside hotdog stand called "Johnny's". Their signature dog is a dog with mustard, onions, and a spear of dill pickle. Wash it down with either Birch Beer or Buttermilk. Yummy.

Wow, Birch Beer. That's something I haven't had in a really long time. We don't have it down south.
I don't know that I have a particular favorite hot dog from somewhere, or a favorite brand. I just have a favorite way to cook them. Put them on the grill and let it get black. Or put it on a stick, jab it in a fire, and let it get black. It doesn't have to be totally black, just partially black. Then, put it in a bun, and slather it in mustard. Or just eat the hot dog on its own. Oh, so good.

And you are in the minority. I've actually eaten a lot of chili dogs lately. We've been low on food at the house, and it was one of the few things there was to eat. But I definitely am not complaining.

I haven't found the "Ultimate hot dog", but I am a huge M*A*S*H fan, and Tony Packo's Hungarian hot dogs really exists in Toledo. Would love to try one. Where's Klinger when I need him??
Every time I watch the episode "Adam's Ribs", I think how good ribs would taste.
Man, I am getting hungry...

Interestingly enough i searched for jamie farr on wikipedia and interestingly enough he was also born in toledo too . and i highly recommend everyone to try vegetarian foods i love veggie burgers so much more tasty that meat burgers and we have veggie sausages here in nz too.
Jason i remember that espisode of MASH it is the one when Hawkeye gets fed up with the run of the mill boring mess tent food and he starts a protest to get something else to eat that one is a classic . Adams Ribs and how radar has to rangle to get throw to place the order

My favorite hot dog is one that I make at home actually. I usually buy Nathan's or the Oscar Meyer premium, brush them with melted butter and put them under the broiler until they start to curl slightly. Then put them on a potato roll bun, top with chili, cheese, and mustard YUM!
But if I do get a hot dog out, I go to Jack's Cosmic Dogs (http://www.jackscosmicdogs.com/) here in Mt. Pleasant, SC. It's a great place! :D

I like stuff like veggie burgers. Right now I am eating primarily turkey products, like sauage, bacon, etc. I have often thought of trying the vegetarian lifestyle, but I just love meat too much.
I would love to visit Toledo some day. And would definitely go to Packo's.

As far as meat goes, I actually prefer turkey or chicken. I could probably live the rest of my life not eating beef or pork and I wouldn't feel like I was missing anything.

One of the best hot dogs I've ever had was at Bandimere Speedway in Morrison, CO. To borrow Alton Brown's favorite phrase, (and show name) it was very "good eats!"
