In a moment of extreme silliness, I would like to wish everyone a happy (what I have dubbed) binary day (1010). It will be much cooler in 2 years.

It's also Coffee Day. Now THAT I understand.

Yeah, my brain can't quite decipher the computer speak. Nor can it tolerate coffee.

NurseBettyLu

It's also my off day which I am so totally into.

I want to write in Elvish. That would be really cool.

NurseBettyLu
10-10-2008, 04:09 PM
I think I'll work on writing in English. Seems to be a challange.

I'd like to think so.

Someone has to think you're wise.

I definitely didn't say that anyone had to. I may have implied it. ;)

Loons don't imply. They shout!!! :P

ExtravagantlyLoved
10-10-2008, 05:35 PM
I'm the exception to the rule. I never shout. ;)

sandie
10-10-2008, 05:36 PM
You harass maybe... but shout.... never! :P

Then you should. The only thing I'm taking responsibility for is a typo. :P

Have you or can you put out the definition of binary for us slow Italians?

From one slow Italian to another, I googled it for you. According to Wikipedia:

The binary numeral system, or base-2 number system, is a numeral system that represents numeric values using two symbols, usually 0 and 1. More specifically, the usual base-2 system is a positional notation with a radix of 2. Owing to its straightforward implementation in digital electronic circuitry using logic gates, the binary system is used internally by all modern computers.

Or more precisely ;) : 010101000101 010001, 11100110, 0101000001101. 1010 101100101 0101001... 10101110011!

:P

Yesterday was also Mental Health Day. Looks like all of you missed it.

sandie
10-11-2008, 10:27 PM
And you had treatment? :P

NurseBettyLu
10-11-2008, 10:45 PM
Are you implying that I need it? I don't suffer from mental illness, I revel in it.

sandie
10-11-2008, 11:30 PM
Fair enough. :P

My mate Joe was a computer geek. Worked for IBM. Took a look at the men who had been there for 10 or 15 years, didn't like what he saw, sold his furniture to his friends, went to Italy and slept in a park and met people for 8 months. He's so glad he got out.

NurseBettyLu

Nothing like a good hijack. Both Emily and myself have been here, so it was inevitable. I'd type a bunch of ones and zeros to straighten things out, but I don't understand that stuff, so I'd probably end up saying something rude.

sandie
10-11-2008, 11:51 PM
And that's a problem? :P

Don't ask me about computerspeak. I'm still learning photocopierspeak.

sandie

Tomorrow, I'm using an interactive whiteboard. I practised on Friday, and am hoping that it and I can come to some sort of compromise this week at my new college.

Italy or geek?

Yup, Italy is the better choice.

sandie
10-12-2008, 09:56 PM
Yep, he'd agree. Joe is still tied to Italy - his eyes light up when someone speaks Italian. :) And then he talks, and talks, and talks.....:P

Italy or geek?

Yup, Italy is the better choice.

Of course, when you add nerd to those choices there is absolutely no comparison. Nerd all the way!
