This has become my new hobby and I thought it would be nice to have a place to hang out with other paint enthusists so, here we go. Post your favorite paint dry stories and what's your favorite kind of paint. My personal favorite is Baehr paint. It's so nice and thick and goes on real easy. :D

No way? You mean I'm not alone?! This is amazing most people think I'm crazy for watching paint dry. My favorite to watch are the dark colors...you get spots of lighter and dark until it's all dry...so cool!

I hear ya Tanquinette, it really should be an olympic sport. The dark ones are yesly the best but, I also like when you've got a painting technique like sponging going on. That is way cool for sure.

Have you tried using a feather duster? It gives a really neat effect as well.
Light Hearted
10-07-2008, 04:58 AM
No, maybe I'll try that in the lower level. I bet it would look cool on that texture wall...
Lady_Wing_9
10-07-2008, 05:03 AM
It would look really neat, you can add different colors to. We had one wall at my house like that. All kinds of different colors painted on a white wall with a feather duster.

So, what kind of chair do you like to use? I kinda like my TV chair because I can just sit and rock out, very relaxing after a long hard day in TPOH.

I personaly like to just lay on the floor and watch the paint dry...but I'm weird so.........

Light Hearted
10-07-2008, 05:16 AM
Well that is a fairly well established fact. Ok, so back to the paint I'm thinking of designing a paint drying chair to really maximize the impact of the sport. What are your thoughts on specific design details?

You have a very good and somewhat tall point. A paint watching chair, I'm liking this idea very much. What have you got in mind?

Well, I'm thinking it needs reclining abilities like majorly to maximize the optimum viewing experience, perhaps we could install a magnifying glass to really close in on those miniscule details.. ummmm, comfort is of the utmost importance and a tray for those long paint dry sessions to hold your beverages and snacks.

Greatness!!!
P.S. we did some walls at my church with the feather duster, and it was really cool.
I also like just flinging the paint and making splatters, but you really have to be careful that you have the carpet and things fully covered. That one kinda makes a mess. Cute though.

You would not believe how often I have actually watched paint dry...
I worked for the past two summers as a summer student at the oil fields in Fort McMurray, Alberta. My job is to paint cement. Most of the time, we would be left alone in the plant, so we would paint something, and then just sit there until it was dry. No one really cared, it's not like the plant wouldn't run if it wasn't painted. It was the greatest job ever...and the best part? The pay was $19/hour, and double time after 40 hours. Most weeks, I worked anywhere from 60 - 80 hours.
Oh how I love watching paint dry...
