There is at least one more day, today, until we find out who gets the last spots in the AL and NL.
But there is a playoff even when one team wins the season series? I looked and the Twins are up like two on the CWS which still makes them the season series winner if they have to make up an early season game.
Pujols has eight straight years with 30 HRs and 100 RBIs. Second in the national league in hitting at .356. What does he need to catch Chipper Jones? I would search this one but it is 6 am and maybe one more hour of sleep would be a good thing.
Other thoughts on the seasons?
Cubs, Rays, Manny, Bonds, etc.

Game 163, NOT 162.
Minnesota, NOT Detroit vs. Chicago.
Chicago wins then they are in the playoffs (play game 163 against MN tomorrow.)
Double play. 8 to 2. Griffey to Pierzynski. No score through four and a half.
I turn on MLB game cast, notice Thome is up, and less than one second later am screaming HOME RUN. 1-0 CWS.

Wow, what a game between the Red Sox and Rays! To come back from 7-0 in the 7th and WIN it, you simply must give credit to Boston! Unbelievable!

I'll take the Rays over the Phillies in six.

I'm rooting for the Phillies. I want Lidge to get that ring the Astros couldn't give him '05. He really is an extremely talented pitcher and just needed a change of venue.

I'm a Blue Jays fan, but it's not like they are ever going to make it into the finals anytime soon...
This year, I'm cheering for the Phillies, but only because they have Matt Stairs and he's from my home province :) He was actually raised in a city I lived in for a few years when I was younger.

The World Series has been interesting so far. Both teams are fired up and playing pretty well. Very entertaining.

I liked the local radio comment that there is no, excuse me, crap in this series. All the stupid drama when you have large metro teams like NY or LA involved. The huge egos that those teams have thanks to the huge payroll. It is two teams just playing baseball and that is great.

Phillies are about to go up 3-1. Turn out the lights the party's over.

The way the Phillies have played this post-season, I don't think anyone can stop them. They are certainly in the driver's seat.
So far, I've been wrong on all of the post-season series except the Phillies/Brewers and Rays/White Sox. I'm glad I don't wager on sporting events.
