I just wrote this. Greyshades is working on the music.

I Need You Now

I’ve never been this way before
I need Your hand to guide me
And when I’m feeling lost
I need You right beside me

Chorus:
Lord, I need You now
I don’t think I can make it
I need You now
My heart just can’t take it
If there ever was a reason …
If there ever was a time …
I need You now

I’m seeking the road back to home
I need Your light to show me
And when I’m finally there
I need Your arms to hold me

Chorus:
Lord, I need You now
I don’t think I can make it
I need You now
My heart just can’t take it
If there ever was a reason …
If there ever was a time …
I need You now

Bridge:
Used to think I could do it on my own
But I kept falling
I won’t walk this path alone
So now I’m calling

Chorus:
Lord, I need You now
I don’t think I can make it
I need You now
My heart just can’t take it
If there ever was a reason …
If there ever was a time …
I need You now

Man, it's so good.

I can't wait 'till the rest of the band gets to play it. The things I'm hearing are really cool.

You've done it again my friend.

Thanks, Sean! I can't wait to hear it and the newer take on "Here and Now." I promise my next lyric won't have "now" in the title. :P

Maybe 'then'? :P

I'm no expert, but I do like the lyrics! :)

Thanks, Shane. I'm fired up because now I have someone (Sean) actually writing music and running the songs by his band (they already perform one of my songs).

It's frustrating to write when my lyrics just sit in a notebook.

Most excellent! Creative works need to be shared, seen, and heard! I am happy for you, Jason. Hopefully the songs will grow in popularity.

Fine then. Be that way. I might just have to decide I like this one after all. ;)

I still like it. Days later, I still like it. It just sings to me Jason. I just wish I could sing!

Thank you so much. I can't sing either (or play an instrument) which is very frustrating for a songwriter.

Well, I do play the guitar, among other instruments. But I smoked cigarettes for about 25 years, and it really ruined my voice. I quit about 11 years ago, but my voice never came back. When I complain about the fact that I can't sing, my husband usually "consoles" me by telling me I still have a "bedroom voice, low and husky". But I sing lower than Mac Powell, and for a woman, that's just unacceptable!

I never smoked. I just can't sing well. Part of it is that I'm on a ventilator which means I have little breath control.

It may impede your ability to sing, but I'm glad it does not impede your ability to enjoy life. You and people like Elby are an inspiration to me. I don't know if Elby ever mentioned it but she is in a wheelchair too. She broke her back and pelvis in a car accident years ago, She can walk very short distances, but when she stands she has severe pain in her lower back and legs. They call it equina cauda syndrome or something like that. Anyway, you both are encouragers. Anyway, I printed out your lyrics and gave it to Elby at dinner this evening and she liked it too. She immediately started humming a tune, and it made me wonder what Greyshade's version is going to sound like. Probably nothing like Elby's, as her's had a typical "Jewish" sound to it - minor key and all!

It's my perogative as a woman to constantly change my mind.

No, I didn't know Elby was disabled. I'm glad she liked the song.

Life was made to enjoy.

it made me wonder what Greyshade's version is going to sound like. ..... - minor key and all!

Minor key indeed. At least in the verses. To be exact, "suspended"...

Jason, you know it's good when several people say they read it, and it sung to them right away.

Who says you can't sing dude. Your words alone sing. ;)

Yep, it's definitely singing to me tonight. It' was quiet earlier, just me and the Lord, and what do I start singing? If there was ever a reason, if there was ever a time, I need You now! I need You NOW! Good lyrics. Better hurry with that music Sean, or my tune will get stuck in my head and that's the only way I'll be able to sing this song! Oh well, no one's ever gonna hear it except my kitties and the Lord. He only cares about my heart, and the kitties only want something to howl at! :P
