Hey I was just wondering about some things. Me and Mike are thinking about getting wired. I know they have switched from Music Today but I am wondering how soon it is that we get our packages? If we plan to go to a concert next month and still don't have the package do we still get to attend the meet and greet? Just curious any ideas?
Thanks guys

Once you join, you can go ahead and request M&G passes for the show. Therefore, the sooner you join, the better.;)

UNder the old wired, more people did NOT have their stuff than had. I went to 4 meet & greets without my laminate. The track all that online. Still waiting to receive our packets, and I hope it will be soon. I sent our email on 8/15.

Join honey, and get those M&G passes. You won't regret it. It is the best part of Wired!!!!!!!!! BandFarm has taken over and MusicToday no longer runs Wired. I am hoping they will do a much better job. I am one of those who have been waiting since Oct 2007 to get my membership kit! I FINALLY received it this passed Saturday, August 23rd!!!!!!! Yeahhhhhh!!! The kit will come eventually, but sign up now and GET THOSE PASSES!!! :D

wearing the laminate is helpful, but not required. We rely on the online registration to know who is coming to the meet and greet.

Thanks guys, Thanks Tai! We have to wait for some things to get settled from the trip, but once that is cleared then we can do it. They are suppose to be fixing the problem today so hopefully we can have this all done by Friday. :D

wearing the laminate is helpful...
 *mentally starts shuffling through the pile of stuff on my dresser trying to remember where it is* I sort of 'borrowed' the cord from the laminate to use as a camera neckstrap at the last concert, so know where the cord is now, but not necessarily the laminate.
I don't suppose the Roofdwellers laminate I have from Blue Man Group would work, would it? :P ;) (Still amazed that Music Today had absolutely NO issues or delays getting out any of the BMG membership stuff, just ours... Maybe 3D should have tried painting themselves blue and done a few Pentium commercials, it might have helped. :D )
...but not required.
Whew. :)
But yeah, Tracey... definitely sign up for it. And make sure you and Mike do it together, so you don't do like I did to Doug, make him sit around on the concourse for an hour at one of the Christmas shows, while I did the M&G. He was willing to do that once, but I felt so bad about it, I signed him up for Wired 2.0 just so he'd be able to M&G with me at the upcoming shows. :)
But since I didn't get my membership stuff until February, I didn't have a laminate for either of the two Christmas M&Gs, and had no problem getting in.
So yes! Sign up so you can at least get your name on the roster for the M&G even if your stuff doesn't get to you on time.

Cool Deal! We'll definitely be looking into it. So like when we go to the concert do we just go to wherever the meet and greet is and tell them that we signed up and just haven't gotten our stuff yet? I think We'll get the family package, although there's only 2 in our family so far...better than doing it sperately I suppose. Anywho, thanks for all your help guys! Rock On!

Wired is really cool. The meet and greet is short. There were 60 in Chicago. But the picture with the band is really cool. My favorite part of wired is the radio. Live shows, rarities. 3 MusicBuilds shows are up already.:D

I had 2 1/2 hours meet and greet with the band I am SATISFIED. :) I only regret not getting a picture of me with each of them. In time hopefully I'll get to do that. The guys are so cool and so flippin nice.

I agree, the guys were fabulous, so down to earth and real!

For real?!?!?!?!? Maybe there were just too many people in Chicago. Yes, there are, that's another story :D
Either way, it was great to meet the guys regardless of the time. I'm sure they probably get tired of meeting and greeting.

Ummm let me clarify for those that don't know...I won the Habitat contest so I was hanging out and building with the guys for 2 1/2 hours, along with switchfoot and jars of clay.
Honestly I've only met them this one time, and I can say they are humble genuine guys and I don't believe they get tired of meet and greet. They love their fans...family. ;)

Hey there Karen! I did the same thing hunting high and low for the laminate. Found it, had it... but they gave me a NEW one when I checked in at the Wired table in VABeach. Also never got my email confirmation for the M&G until the afternoon of the show... No worries though, if you're signed up, your name's on a check list and you're in! Just don't forget to check in when you get to the show... and I'm ASSUMING you'll be at Walnut Creek in THREE DAYS! I'm wishing I could make it down for that show, too... thought I'd be satisfied with ONE show on this tour, but this is one amazin' perdukshun! Have fun!

That explains it -- I knew you won the Habitat contest (hence insulated). Congrats!
I agree, they are humble and geniune guys. I was very impressed when I met them. I just think it might get old after a while. Of course, I tend to be an introvert mostly, so maybe my view colors it. Either way, I'm just grateful for them and their music.

Of course, NOW, I know where the laminate is but NOT the cord that goes with it.  Doh! THAT I think I can steal from my BMG laminate though, if I can't find it before the concert.
But yeah. Two more days until Walnut Creek. WooHOO! Front row center, baybeeee! (something I'm very much looking forward to after being stuck back in row 18 for Sonfest in June.) Weeee!

Depending on when you got your laminate (I actually was one of the lucky ones and got my Wired pkg back in Jan-Feb... something like that)... they're not using the old black ones anymore. They'll give you a new white one if you don't already have it. Wish I were going to be there with you, Karen! Don't you think you need to ask for a special BODY GUARD pass for me to sit with you to protect you there? Since I DOUBT that'll happen... here's Safety tip #1: Be prepared to get out of the way when Jon gets off the stage! He'll be coming your way! :D  :P

There were black laminates? I got my membership package back in I think February, and it came with a white one already. Sounds like the black ones may be collectors items now. *ding dong* Ebay calling! ;)
Jon leaving the stage is a regular thing then? I've been trying to remain as ignert as possible of much of the show goings on so most of it will be new to me Friday night, so have not been reading too much of the review threads, although I'm too nosy to completely stay away, so am picking up a little here and there about it. :) But I know he went out into the crowd at Sonfest, so no worries, you didn't really blow any huge surprise there.
But if when he leaves the stage is anything like when the guy from Hawk Nelson left the stage a few summers back, I might NEED a body guard, that was scary as all the screamy fans descended on the stage en mass. When he made like he was going to do it again LAST year, I'm all "Oh no, please don't!" LOL.
Sounds like I'll be in the thick o' things Friday night, then. No worries. I ate so much in NYC, you'd probably need a steamshovel to move me out of the way now. LOL. :P
Well, you'd BETTER get out of the way! You don't want Jon singing "Welcome to the RESISTANCE" to you! Here's the old and new... the "otherside" of both IS white though, but I'm not going to show it to you since you like surprises.
Don't think anyone on Ebay would want my black one with my name already written in...

I'm a sucker for weird ebay items and I'm sure that I would not be the only one.
