Not too terribly long ago I set up a thread called "Looking for Bandmates" that stated just that: I'm on the lookout for a band. To state it simply, I just want to be a songwriter and bass player... maybe some backup vocals or something. I don't want to sing. (Unfortunately God didn't bless me with the voice of Mac Powell. He gave that to someone else. :rolleyes: )
So, anywho, while replying to others on the thread (and seeing that NO OTHER GOMER ON EARTH is from North Central Indiana) I decided to give you, my fellow Gomers and Third Day fans, creative liberty with my songs.
Yes, I am going to PM the lyrics to one my songs to those interested and they, in turn can record their OWN VERSION of that song. They can use any chord progression they want, any instrument they want, I don't really care. It's just a way for me to get some more ideas for those songs and others that I have written and will write. This is a really exciting experiment for me. It's also a great way to collaborate with other musicians all over the country (and possibly the world).
Those who are interested in this project, please leave a post right here and I'll PM the lyrics to one of three songs (you pick):
"WILL SLEEP EVER COME"
"HOLLYWOOD ROMANCE"
"COME BACK (MY WAY)"
Now, here are a couple of other things.
(1) DO NOT claim these as your own songs. They are copyrighted to me. Really.
(2) I am giving you permission to ADD additional verses to the songs.
When the songs are completed they can be e-mailed to me at ephraimanthem@gmail.com. I will pick my favorite version of each song and the winner's version will be added to my official blog (http://ephraimanthem.blogspot.co m). And don't worry, you WILL be credited for your additions to the songs.
