Yeah, I was overcome by the bright pink/purple beetroot dip! :P
Yahoooo!!! :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D
Our Pastor was stood down two years ago. I aked Tony before Creche if he had a final response to his re-application. Tony said he couldn't say more at present, but it was all good, and gave me a broad smile. Just read it in the bulletin - an Information Meeting on 10th November, then a Special Church Meeting on Monday24th November to vote on the motion that he be appointed our Pastor for 2 years, commencing 1st December, 20008.
How wonderful - except for the football comments and jokes. :P We've had a two year break from them.
Well I hope everything works out.

This process has been bathed in prayer, from many church members, and a supportive Eldership. Tony's had two years of counselling, and he and the Elders have constantly informed the interdenominational committee of his progress, and asked if there is anything more that Tony can do. He and his family still live in the Manse, though he's been working full time.
My church has now pioneered a process in the Churches of Christ, NSW. :)
Do I sound excited??????? :D

Hey, anybody up? At w**k tonight as Peter is out of the hospital, much better now. Medicaid finally ponied up for his medicine, so he should be fine now.

Yes, I'm up. I'm on a seek and destroy mission in my kitchen. It will look good when I'm finished. However, Kath and Kim starts in 10 mins. :P

Good luck on the kitchen. Watching old tv episodes tonight, also listening to some Pandora. In general, wasting loads of time on somebody else's wireless.

Fair enough. Kath and Kim was a corker tonight, and Dancing With the Stars is great. :D

Good morning Loons!!!!
Both children and I survived the experience. A good time was had by all, I think. :P
Bill wasn't there, so I didn't blow any kisses. Did throw a couple of smart comments around, so it was a good morning tea. :D
Be careful using "throw" and "children" in the same sentence.

There's been some drama at the previous college where I did 7 weeks temporary work. I'll know more after today as to how it might affect me. I promised the Director of Studies there that I'd be confidential this weekend, so you guys know nothing. :P

A quck good morning soon to be afternoon.
Maybe this info was posted Friday. Gold cap fell out because I put a handful of Sugar Babies in my mouth late Friday afternoon. Dentist closed so they glued it back on today.
Sofia at school so pray she'll make it through the day.
Election over tomorrow!!!
sandie
11-03-2008, 07:23 AM
Thank God for that. It'll be good to see the end of these wretched political threads! (Am I expressing myself clearly enough?) :P Your political system is poles apart from ours.
More importantly, it's Melbourne Cup here today. It's "the race that stops a Nation." My college is taking all the staff out to an Italian Restaurant in North Sydney. :) I've never been in a college which pays for Melbourne Cup luncheons. Cafes, restaurants and clubs throughout the nation will be hopping. The race is on at 3pm, and one horse will join the elite list of Melbourne Cup winners.
I need to give my international students a quick summary of the Cup, as it's such a part of Australian culture.
Andrew didn't ring last night. Can't rely on a Kiwi....... :P The story continues today.

Andrew and I kept missing each other on the phone, so I dropped in for the Melbourne Cup and a chat. Think I might sell his accent, and his slightly turned up nose, too. What a cutie. :P
Andrew has resigned as Director of Studies. I will be acting DOS until Christmas, keeping the place ticking over, then I will be working full time after 5 Jan, teaching and doing some admin as a Head Teacher / Senior Teacher. Salary details tomorrow at another meeting. This is God's provision, after a very unsettled year.
This is why I was waiting on his phone call. The College Owner was weighing up Andrew's proposal for keeping the place going.

Office people very unhappy with me for cancelling our appointment this morning. Sorry, my auntie was having chest pains and I took her to the er. D: Yes, this is an answer to prayer, I believe. It will lead to a 37.5 hour a week job as a Senior or Head teacher, which is better pay than a 20 working week, I can assure you. You are keen.
I'm having coffee with Joe after work. Hopefully show him around work before I leave it. He'll be impressed with the Rolls Royce of colleges. The college went out for a Melbourne Cup Day lunch on Tuesday and the place was Italian. It's diagonally across the road from Joe, and he didn't know it was there. If the owners/ workers speak Italian, this will be my good deed for the day. Possibly the year. :D
Next week I'll teach two hours a day at this college, then cross the Bridge (trip trap trip trap) to Andrew's college and follow him around all day like a sheep. I'd make a sheep joke, but it's better not to with Kiwis. :P

It's a 4 hour drive to Savannah, but at least the gas prices have dropped significantly. We cancelled a trip to Charleston earlier this year due to the high fuel costs. We plan to spend some time in Charleston after the show with my daughter and grandbaby. Looking forward to finally having a free weekend - been working lots of overtime.

11-07-2008, 10:46 AM
D: Why are you pulling faces so early in the morning? :P
Elaine: That will be a lovely family break for you, as well as watching 3D. :)
Thanks for asking about my situation. :)
My 27.5 hours per week teaching at my new college went down to 20 hours per wk after 7 days, as the individual student pulled out. (This is a casualised industry, mainly with 20 hour teaching weeks plus admin.) I did 7 weeks temp teaching for Andrew, Jonathan's replacement, before this job.
Andrew resigned a week ago to become Director of Studies at one of the largest colleges in Sydney. (He is impressive and very profesional.) Andrew asked me to be acting DOS, even before he told management. I don't want the job forever, as I love being in the classroom (lots of attitude :P ) but the agreement is that I'll do the job while they find a replacement. This week I'll teach 2 hours per day at my other college, then learn from Andrew, and take over the following week.
The other part of the agreement is that I'll be the Senior or Head teacher (new position), working a 37.5 hour week, including 20 hours on the class I choose. English for Academic Purposes begins in March, and I'll take it. I believe this is the answer to my prayers!!! :) :) :)
Would you believe the place is called the Apple Study Group? :o

Spent two hours in the office today with a blinding headache. I stole all the pens I could. I fussed until they brought me a cup of coffee. The coffee was awful. I made a paper jam in the printer. They stuck me with a needle. Not to worry -- annual TB skin test. All in all, the day was a draw with no clear winner. Gonna get a new clinical director next month. Here we go again...Sorry bout this post, I have never been so sleep deprived in my whole life.

Sean: Andrew might need that suit of armour, if his Kiwi charm and charisma don't work at his new college. Is this a good time to mention that one dragon has promised to resign on Jan 3rd, and if she doesn't follow through, she'll be sacked anyway? One dragon down and one to slay. :P

Moi, back from Saturday morning shopping, with lots of fruit and veg. Also, the Saturday paper to relax with. :P

And I'm thinking about going to bed, it still being Friday night here. I may go to the flea market in the morning.

Work. Shopping. Church. That is almost what real people do. :P
Hey I think you must have our fleas down there. This cold weather is too much. Sure do miss Tammy and Tracey 'cause they know the chill factor!!! :D

Yeah, after two hot days, it's been raining here and it's cool. Off to an amateur theatrical production tonight with some friends. :D

Good morning.
How was church?
Angelo did not want to even TRY to sing so we are going to the high school Sound of Music tonite and he'll be in production.

Off to church at 9:30am. It's just after 6am and I wished I'd slept in.
The play was great, last night. Very funny, and sad, too. The Henry Lawson Theatre puts on a good play. I haven't been for at least two years, and I have no idea why. Only A$15.

Hey, loons. Usual dead Saturday, huh? Most exciting thing I've done all day is hang wash on the line.
sandie

You could ramp up the level of excitement by bringing it in. :P
Mine was good - trip to the theatre and I'm off to church now.

Just finished bringing in the wash. And as i that wasn't enough, I folded it up and put it away. I'm drained.

You didn't iron it. You lazy slob! :P
Church was good - sermon about worship through music. I'm going to look for a ram's horn, which apparently sounds worse than the bagpipes. :D

What smells great? Haggis? ;) Maybe the didgeridoo would be easier to play. Sadly, it's only for males.
Sean: Have you heard of the Sons of Korah? They're an Australian group who put music to the Psalms. Much of their music sounds Jewish, although one piece sounds Spanish. I saw them a couple of months ago and bought all their albums. :)

I have tasted haggis. I am due a special reward in heaven for swallowing it. Sons of Korah -- too cool. Although I don't own any of their albums, muswt fix that. Don't want to get out and make the drive to w**k. It's colder than a witch's elbow.

Ah, you listened to the excerpts. :) Their music is lovely.
Not sure I'll ever try haggis. Sounds just as appealing as tripe.
How cold is it there? It's a cool late-Spring day here, but very nice (T-shirt and jeans weather.) I bought some packs of Chai tea to try. The vanilla chai tea is going down very nicely. :D

Mid-30's by morning. I just want to curl up under the electric blanket but they don't pay me for that. Ham and potato soup for supper tonight, and Alabama over Mississippi State 32-7. Okay, there are good things in the world.

It's a pity that employers won't pay for sloth. Otherwise, I'd be rich.
I'm sitting here replying to emails and sending winks or kisses to any men on three internet sites who say they are Christian, don't sound too strange, and can spell properly. :P
I must invite each of them for coffee - from Ohio, NY, London, Oxford, and the other states of Australia. Do drop in. :D

No, shofars. They stink. Seriously. Stink. Sound cool. Smell bad.
Sean: Have you heard of the Sons of Korah?
I have now. ;)
They're an Australian group who put music to the Psalms.
After visiting their site, I can completely agree with the above statement.
Much of their music sounds Jewish, although one piece sounds Spanish.
What do you call a cross between Jewish and Australian? Jewstralian? Austrish?
I saw them a couple of months ago and bought all their albums.
I heard them literally seconds ago, and I'm probably going to do the same thing, buy 'em all.
Thanks for that link.

Perhaps I should have mentioned, I prefer single men. :P
Your spelling is on par - one man is looking for 'a intelligent woman' - presumably one who can use articles correctly.
As for strangeness....
you're stuffed, mate. :P
Glad you like the link. I find their music soothing and relaxing, and of course, they use the words of the Psalms. There is a pack of 5 Sons of Korah CD's available here. If you have any trouble finding them. let me know.
It's Ostrich, by the way, not Austrich.

Yeah. Not sure that an ESL teacher can go out with someone with poor spelling or grammar skills. I'd probably over-correct myself out of a relationship rather quickly. :P Two fingered typists are welcome, however.

I hope this is entertaining for the Loons. it is for me. :P
