Ooh. Definitely.

Edit: That was in response to James. I'll definitely be praying.

:D

I haven't had much homework yet. But I'm sure that will soon change. ;)

Actually, things have seemed unusually simple thus far. But I think that has something to do with the fact that I don't have any music classes. As much as I loved them, those music classes were hard. I guess it's a good thing that I don't have any right now, because I kinda want to work my way back in slowly. I'll add some back in later.

At the rate I'm going, I'm not going to graduate until I'm 25. :P

When I started school, I never assumed that I would end up graduating in the prescribed four years, but now that I missed a year, and changed my major, and am considering having a double minor, as well as take a few classes just because, it's gonna take me a while. ;) But it's worth it. :)

I know! It's insane. But insane people tend to do insane things. ;)

Hopefully, once I get back in the swing of things, maybe not next semester, but at least next fall, I'll be able to take more hours so that things don't stretch out so far. I'm just taking 13 right now, which is definitely a good load, but it's not all that much.

Back from errands. Hit Winn-Dixie to stock up on non-perishables; essential supplies like Hershey's Kisses and Negra Modelo. To the bank to get cash as ATM's do not work without electric, and most retailers can only do trade in cash. Lowe's for plywood and brackets (I have a couple of vulnerable windows on the north end of the house). Oh, and Japanese Imperial for sushi. What?? Doesn't everybody eat raw fish before a natural disaster?

Glad to see that Beth has stocked up on the essentials of life and has probably consumed most of them already. :P

I've had a Chinese massage and my neck, shoulders and back are much better. I didn't even wince much. I'm a brave person. ;)

Do you have Chinese massage places in many shopping centres in the USA? They're very popular here. I also work in the City, whee many Chinese people live.....strangely enough, around Chinatown.

Greyshades
08-29-2008, 11:47 PM
Sadly, the massage parlors I see are not at all like what you probably see. In fact, I'm sure of it, because I know that you would not go to such a place. They would be one of those things that would fit into Rock's post about the culture shock of coming home.

Though, when you say "Chinese" massage, I think I have some idea. There's a couple I've seen at the mall nearby, who offer their massage services to whoever. No little store, just out in the middle of the mall.

I seriously thought the guy was beating this dude up the other day. It looked somewhat violent. However, I immediately knew it was for me. Next time, that is.

Good Morning Loons.
What's Up?

sandie
08-30-2008, 01:45 AM
We are. :)

Yes, you've got the idea, Sean. They mustn't be very common in the USA, or at least where you live in Georgia, by the sound of it.

Chinese massage has become very popular here, and there are massage shops in many shopping centres, with half a dozen massage beds and soothing music. A customer can choose any one of 20 or more massages: head, neck and shoulders; neck, shoulders and back; feet; legs and feet, you get the idea. I've been to three different massage shops and swear by them. I feel so good tonight! :D

We do have the other type of massage parlours, and they advertise in the classifieds in the local newspapers.

Hey Sandra and James.

Yeah we are finally having a meeting on Tuesday after the Labor Day holiday to plan temporary coverage until the third position on our team is filled.

NOTHING planned. Maybe the Katinas concert tonite but unlikely. Need to go to dad's as my brother brought Euros from Italy. They were gifts from my cousins (mom's side) and uncle(dad's side) to our kids. So we'll get that in dollars and deposit or give it to the kids.

Praise God Angelo's concert was cancelled. Skeletonwitch - horrible occult band. This weird stuff interests the pscyhology part of his brain. Then he had a friend and wanted to stay there, overnite, with two girls and no parents Praise God, he called us knowing what we would say, and grudgingly made the right decision to come home.

I love grits, they're the ultimate in comfort food. Gotta go finish up the laundry, as possible power outages can last for days. Almost two weeks after K. That's one of the worst parts, really. And it gets so hot. After K, I remember trying to give the nice National Guard soldier a hundred bucks to sit in the ice truck for half an hour. Nope.

It depends for me. Sometimes it gets pretty quiet, but other times it's really loud because there are commonly lots of people at my house on Sunday afternoon.

Can't say I've ever watched college football.

Living alone is not great, but there is something worse. My friend Sharon has wanted to move in here at various times. She is in a perpetual state of crisis, beginning a new 'career', deciding she doesn't like it and changing or being sacked. Mpving houses and churches. Sharon's never very happy for long. She would take away my peace, and I'd have to listen to the continuing tales of crisis.

It's lovely to see Sharon..... and it's great when she goes home, too. :P

Great weekend! Saw Needtobreathe on Saturday night in Anderson, SC at an open air amphitheater. It was very hot for the warm up act (Kenny Floyd - local musician), but was cooler by the time NTB took the stage. They rocked! We bought their first CD and a light blue T shirt for Doug. He got them to sign his Carolina Panthers hat in addition to the liner notes from Daylight. My daughter suggested a local steakhouse, Carson's, which was fantastic! We went after the concert and were the last ones in the restaurant. Great continental breakfast at the hotel on Sunday morning. So much fun!

It probably WILL turn out to be a zoo, lol. "Welcome to Zoo TV, y'all!"

I'm meeting D's parents for the first time on Friday, meeting some of his oldest friends on Sunday, and stuck right in the middle on Saturday, the main reason for the trip, D wanted to hit one last Mets game at Shea Stadium before it got torn down after this season. And unless something goes wrong or we decide not to pay for the overpriced tickets after all, we should be at the top of the Empire State Building Saturday morning sometime.

*note to self, buy small toy airplane to use to shoot a quick King Kong parody while up there.* :D

Hope he doesn't get tired of me after 20 hours of round trip driving and 5 days together. And what if his family and friends don't LIKE me? *sob sob!*

Me? Nervous? Not at all, whatever gave you that idea? LOL.

Your Doug is coming to Music Builds too, right? Are you going to leave him outside for the M&G again or did you take pity on him and get him a Wired membership this time? I promised my Doug that I wouldn't do that to him a second time.

Yes, my Doug is coming with me. We still need to book a hotel. **mental note to self**

As for the WIRED membership, Doug really isn't that interested in meeting the band. He likes 3D, but mostly comes along because he knows how much I enjoy the concerts. Since it won't be cold this time, I don't think he'll mind the wait.

No...

But, I'm accepting all compliments today. Office hours are from 8 to 4.

Do they have Sawz-alls over there in Tomorrowland?

This thread doesn't usually contain a lot of compliments.

Bon matin!!! :D
