Doing all my Christmas shopping online this year.

Because you can't get out of the computer chair? :P

rossid

Maybe I'll be able to get out of the door for church on Sunday.

I've got to fix the faucet in the kitchen TODAY. Drat!

sandie
11-28-2008, 08:11 AM
My kitchen tap is leaking, too. Can you change the washer on mine, too? :P

It's Saturday, after a very tiring week. Am thinking of closing my office door, to make life easier at work. :P Out at the pub for dinner last night with friends, which was good.

Might sit here, then go back to bed on a cool, wet Saturday morning. I wouldn't want to injure myself by doing too much.

Precisely.

I guess after buying all this junk it is just an o-ring (washer). So all the junk gets returned and I'm going to by some CD-Rs. The kind we can write on with our PC.

Off to church even though this snow, if not Thanksgiving, should have meant no events. Hope there is someone to handle the sports and I'll not have to worry about anything but teaching the K-5.

Pretty good. I'm fighting disappointment. There's a concert happening tonight that I've been wanting to go to for a while, and now that the day is here, I can't go because I don't have enough money to buy the gas to get there. But that's okay. There's something else happening tonight that I would have missed had I gone.

How are you doing?

sandie
12-02-2008, 08:20 AM
It's a pity that you can't go.

See my post above. I'm feeling quite down. Cancelled my home group last night and spoke to three friends on the phone.

Gotta go to that four letter word. Bye Emily.

I know you will miss your son, Sandra. I'm hoping my daughter moves back to Charlotte once her lease is up next year. We had a break in at our office last night. The thieves ransacked almost everyone's desk drawers. We suppose they were looking for money. Thank goodness they didn't take any of my CD's. I have a few here that I listen to during the day. One of my co-workers said that she wouldn't think the intruders enjoyed Christian music. I imagine that's probably true.

sandie
12-02-2008, 08:13 PM
It would be good for them if they did listen to Christian music. :P Did you lose anything, Elaine?

Thanks for the comments, Emily and Elaine. It's different for a single, as there is nobody here. I'd love to be married, as I wouldn't miss Michael so much.

3D NC fan
12-03-2008, 02:31 AM
Fortunately I didn't lose anything, but they did steal several office laptops. It's weird knowing that someone was going through your desk. My Needtobreathe The Heat CD case was on top of my desk instead of in the drawer where I usually keep it. Leeland's Sound of Melodies was inside the jewel case because NTB was in the CD player which they didn't take. I guess that might have been too confusing for them.

rossid
12-03-2008, 03:20 AM
I'm home sick but did pick up my laptop at work and drop off the older kids to school.

I'm hating this sinus infection and thankful I did not crash the car in the snow

I fish-taled about six times and then did a 180.

Safe and sound.

PTL!!!

What trip out of town? How are you after your near miss, D?

I have a weekend. :D Another busy week. Caught up with my Italian speaking friend Joe yesterday, who was immaculately dressed for a business meeting. Their company is being restructured, which is always worrying, especially as it's being done before an audit is published. Have asked him to email me if Joe's affected.

My Columbian teacher is going back to Columbia this week. We'll all miss Liana. Must organise drinks with the staff.

They've gotten into the habit of hauling over and washing their backsides every time they see a camera. If you ever need a pic of a cat washing his nether regions, I can set you up no problem. Other than this recent and unfortunate tendancy towards exhibitionism, they're just fine, thanks.

It was for work. The car actually needs a new muffler too so I hated to have to drive across state. Just need to find the receipt because it was replaced under a lifetime warranty when we got the car from my parents four years ago. There might be another LTM warranty on this one.

I did not really freak out too much after my fish tail 180 degree spin in the snow.

That would be Giuseppe and not Joseph.

I'm glad you're not worried when driving. My son totalled his car a few weeks ago and was nervous afterwards.

Would that be Guiseppe instead of Jonathan as well? He's known as Joe to his friends and family after living in Italy, where there is no voiceless 'th' sound, as you know. Jonathan, a Biblical name for an atheist (so far.)

Michael and Jess are down in Canberra looking for a flat. I'm going to be lonely without them.

Our Pastor is back after a two year restoration process. I'd love to hear Tony's first sermon and his comments today, but I'll be in creche. :( He's already made some very warm comments about our church when he was voted back in, and at his induction last Sunday. Interesting times to live through!!!!

Oh I do usually get those ''chills' when there is a near miss. Not sure but I think it is actually the safety of salvation that gives me peace. Not to shirk off the fact that I messed up by driving too fast.

Giovanni = Jonathon. That is my son's middle name. Giovanni. Not Jonathon.

Restoration? Sounds like what could have happened to a pastor that resigned from out prior church.

Hi all. It's supposed to be 34 degrees C today, but it's raining steadily. Another cool, wet Summer's day?

D: How's Angelo now?

Peoples: I have an announcement. Drum roll!!! :P I've been the Director of Studies at Apple for four weeks, having vowed that I would only do it until someone was appointed, and then I'd teach the class of my choice. It's not such a bad job, as I run around the college a lot. I put in my CV last Saturday arvo, the closing day. The Management didn't like many of the applicants CV's. I had an interview on Wednesday, was offered a two year contract and walked out with the job, wondering how it all happened. :P

Now they won't interview anyone else. Am wondering how to explain to the previous DoS, Andrew, that I've taken his job after all. He's a funny bugger, too, so it'll be a wild conversation. Must walk over to his new college and deliver the news personally. :P :D

So, the two-fingered typist is running the academic side of a college with eight teachers.

No. :P I spent four months at one college and nine weeks at another. Then there's Apple - five weeks with Joe/Jonathan, seven weeks with Andrew, and now I'm the Appledos. (Wonderful expression.) I'm a core part of the college!

So, what's snow? :P

I'm home with some pressies for friends. Must be a recession - I found a parking spot easily. Also a bit quiet in the shops.

It was 24 degrees this morning and the high will only be 43. I like the change of seasons, but I could do without the cold.

I love that song!

Doug found the Jack Johnson CD that I bought for him when he was wrapping some gifts. At least he doesn't know about The Eagles tickets. I got the $60 balcony seats. No way I was paying $190 for floor seats.

Morning all. Is anyone here? It's Christmas Eve, mild and cloudy and I'm off to a dinner with friends tonight.

As always, I'm very sympathetic. :P I wouldn't live anywhere else but Oz. It's going to be really cool today and I can wear jeans and a T-shirt. Am looking for a set of bathroom scales for Michael and Jess, so they don't have to use mine.

Are you working today, Elaine?

I am working. Well in about eight hours. We close at 3 pm - that is odd for a PC company like mine.

Yes indeed, but it's a pity you have to work them.

D: Why are the hours unusual?

I've just been to a Christmas Eve dinner at a friend's place. Two chinese exchange students there, enjoying their first Christmas in Oz, and planning on going into Sydney on NYE. A lovely meal. I have Michael and Jess here for brekky tomorrow, then dinner, and I'm having lunch at church - we have a community lunch that anyone can come to.

Our office will be closing at noon today, but we will be working the Friday after Christmas which pretty much rules out any traveling. We did get to spend some time with my family last Saturday. My daughter and her boyfriend are spending Christmas with us.

MERRY CHRISTMAS LOONS!

I like the idea of a white Christmas, but I am a wus when it comes to cold weather since I spent most of my life in FL.

Yes, let's make it a New Year's resolution that we will attend a concert together next year!

I'm a hearty Minnesnowtan born and bred so I'm used to the cold stuff. Plus with all this nice new insulation I've acquired over the past few years well.....

Ok, it's a deal! :D

My other New Year's resolution is to shed some pounds. :)

Mac said they would be playing in Greensboro on the Revelation tour, but that date hasn't been announced yet and there are no Minnesnowta dates yet. I hope we have a Great Gomer Gathering in 2009.
