Must be the season. Christmas trees with blue bows and blue decorations have appeared in the foyer where the lifts are situated.

It's not football season here. The Grand Finals took place in September for the main two codes.

Saw NTB & 3D on Friday. Great show! Doug went to a M&G with NTB while I was at the WIRED M&G.

Spent Saturday with my daughter and grandbaby.

Watched the Panthers barely win against the Lions whose record was 0-9.

Doug and Allen both sick yesterday. They may have the sinus infection that I'm just getting over. W**k has finally slowed down.

rossid

Just heard NTB on the radio. :D

No one was out of bed when I went home. Pray for their health and my servanthood. Doing dishes, dinner, laundry, all of which I'm allergic to. :P

Yeah, I've just managed to do the dishes, too. It was a matter of necessity. :P You'll be busy, D, with domestic duties and looking after Becky.

Elaine: Another 3D concert! Lucky you. I'd love to see them.

I did my first day in the chair occupied by the charismatic Andrew until Friday. Once I finally got into the computer, I was okay. Andrew told me everything, except for his login for the first screen. Thinking of getting a hat saying Apple Director of Studies. Or a clown hat. :P

It is a bad sinus infection. She got an anitbiotic, probably erythromycin, since she is allergic to pennicillin and sulfas. Sulfas are pennicillin derivatives and only 10% of those allergic to pennicillin are allergic to sulfas too. Beth can verify or correct...

I'm just getting over a sinus infection. My doctor gave me an antibiotic called Omnicet which he says is very effective. It seemed to work well as I was feeling better within a few days. I'll pray for her healing along with your continued strength with the kids and household chores, D.

Sulfas such as bactrim can be used with caution in people with PCN allergies, but some cross-allergies do exist. But sulfa drugs probably wouldn't be appropriate for a sinus infection anyway. E-mycin would be a better choice, or a ceftin-type drug. They're PCN derivatives, too, but with less cross-allergies. I'm PCN allergic, but I can take ceftin no prob. Hope she feeld better soon.

Z-pak is good stuff and I like that you only take it for 5 days. I incorrectly spelled the name of my antibotic which is Omnicef instead of Omnicet. Listening to the Savannah concert on WIRED radio.

Hi Elaine and any other lurkers. It's Appledos1 here.

Do you use the term?

Primary education - primary School
Secondary education - high school
Tertiary education - university, college or TAFE (Technical and Further College)

I'm actually thinking of going back to university. Been mulling it over this week.

Yes, Elaine and Wendy, chasing poor attenders is a pain, especially in a two-storey college. One of the students leaving today received warning letters, but attended no lessons this week, so his attendance has dropped from 80% to about 75%. Report, then deport!

He will be sent an Intention to Report letter tomorrow, then have 20 days to make an appeal to the college. On the 21st day, he is reported to DIAC (Department of Immigration and Citizenship), and they will probably deport him for violating his Vsa conditions.

That's four Intentions to Report this week!

You didn't mess up. I find it interesting when words are uncommon, or used with a slightly different meaning, but that comes with the job. :P

I'm communicating with a man from the internet who keeps calling me 'dear' and says he misses me. I've never met him, so I'm not sure why he's missing me. Either he has a warm heart, or he's very clingy. Time will tell.

I've been an Acting Director of Studies for a week. The tally is one student nearing the end of her 21 day appeal process, 15 more with Intentions to Report in the last two weeks, and I've been told a former student is in a Detention Centre already. These students are mad to spend all the money to come to Oz, then not come to class, and get deported.

I've also asked the bloke from the internet site for a photo, as I don't know what he looks like. His profile says 6'2" black hair and medium build.

I'm good. I'm thinking about starting a web site about my dad. It would have:

Audio of his comedy album and motivational talks
An e-book version of his autobiography to purchase cheaply
His comic strip updated weekly
Press articles about him
Memories of him by people
A gallery of photos
Eventually video clips

And a page about me for possible exposure

What are you up to, Elaine?

I'm cleaning the house between posts, against my better instincts. Also waiting on a call from my son, when he wakes up. After writing off the car he had just bought a few weeks ago and having whiplash, Michael has had time off for various sicknesses and 'his sevices are no longer required' at work. :( He's running out of money.

Also, does his son live with him? 8 y.o., right? My gut feeling is the guy is anxiously looking for a mum for his son.

Also, by not posting a photo, he is self-conscious about his looks.

Thanks for directing me to this post.

Yes, his wife died 5 years ago. He is obviously looking for love for himself, and a parent for his son. My profile states that I've brought up my son alone, and that I'm a warm, caring person. I also stated that I've often been the carer, and would also like to be cared for.

Having said I doubt I'll move away from Michael, he has pursued me by email, so he must be prepared to move interstate. Surely there are some lovely Christian ladies in Queensland eg Marg. He's said that others don't seem serious. There are obviously 'players' on internet dating sites. Guys in the USA and the UK are not going to go out with me, for instance, so they don't really want a relationship.

Some don't post photos for privacy reasons. Either that, or he is dog ugly. :P

It all sounds good to me. :) You won't know what response you'll get until you put up a site.

As far as privacy is concerned, it is strange to have your photo and personal life up for all to see. One site gives access only to people who have paid, but the other two give open access to anyone who wants to read the profile. Some people don't post photos, but they don't get so much contact.

The other guy I'm emailing has his photo there. He's ordinary looking, bald but seems to have an easy, relaxed manner about him.

Some of these blokes look so old!! I stay away from anyone with a beer can in their hand in their photo, or a tanned, bare chest, as I don't want to be part of their mid-life crisis. :P

Nobody wants your company, Wendy? :P

I live alone, but I don't like it. The bloke who is emailing me is jumping the gun to a relationship. He needs to slow down. I haven't even met him. Phone calls first.

Really and truly that would be the mosquito.

You missed the point of the conversation. Look at the bright side though.
It didn't take any effort on your part and that's important when you are OLD.

She's not a dimwit. You are the brainless wonder. :P

A frozen turkey isn't exactly what I had in mind. If Tammy has her arsenal packed, it will be a hot time in the old town tonight.
I've always got my arsenal with me. Sorry, I got sidetracked by some hottie on the plane the other night. Still need help wtih them EWT's? ;)

Nice try sandie. :P Actually it's the other way around. I usually don't like having anyone outside my family around.

I'm happy to rock out of bed in the morning, as long as I can make a coffee. :D

A church meeting on Monday re-instated our Pastor for two years. He was stood down for something he'd done years ago. The meeting was quick, peaceful and we laid hands on Tony at the end to pray for him. This Sunday our Intentional Interim Pastor will finish and Tony will be welcomed. We're also saying goodbye to the NSW Pastor to Pastors, who is going back to Victoria -a lovely man who has been part of the process.

Endings and beginnings. :)

Traditional Thanksgiving pizza tonight. Don't know whether or not I'll w**k tonight, as Peter is back in the hospital. Now I need to go wash pots and pans, and have a quick bite of lunch.
