The winner of this photography contest will receive a prize and also be entered in a drawing for a special prize at the conclusion of all the photography contests. I think the deadlines are usually based on Eastern time.

I withheld the sympathy vote that I was originally going to give to mine (which clearly needed to be in a different people category all together, because it sure looked out of place here! :eek: ;) ) and used it as an insurance policy to help make sure that we didn't end in another tie this time. I knew #10 was only 1 vote ahead of #2, so just wanted to pad that a little bit, and thought THAT was more important than not having to endure the humiliation of being the only one with NO votes. :o ;) (Gee, even the Fly got ONE other vote that wasn't mine! Go figure! LOL)

Great shots, though, all of them. #2 was actually my first choice, until I scrolled down further and saw the eyes of the girl in #10, and HAD to go with that one. It reminded me of the shot of that woman on the cover (http://photoframe.sourceforge.ne t/demo/wallpapers/thumb/600afghanistan-woman.jpg) of Time Magazine many years ago that everyone was talking about.

I took that picture of the children we played with in Israel. Did you know they have blue/grey eyes? The children there were beautiful!! I couldn't decide which picture to use...guess I picked a good one. Thanks for voting for me (and I didn't even vote for myself this time!!!)

Yes, I know! :) I just saw on the top of the poll that it closed at that time (3:41 PM I think)...and noted that it actually closed at around 11 EST...so I guess that means that 3:41PM BOARD time is 10:41EST? Oh, I just get confused by the time the board says! LOL I have mine set up, and it still gives me wacky times! Oh well! It is all relative I guess! :D

Thanks to all the folks who voted for mine (#4, the military with flags). It was taken last year at our Thanksgiving day parade. I had sent my mom some photos to get her opinion on which one to enter. She didn't really see any she liked, so I told her that I had one that I liked, it was clear, and patriotic. Only thing was, I missed them when they walked by, so I shot them from the back. Mom told me that she liked it and that I should enter that one. So here it is.

I was always confused by the time, too. I had it set to central time (which is where I live) but it was still off by 5+ hours.

I finally figured out the best solution for me was to go along with the crazy clock & I set mine to LISBON time. Now it is only off by 6 minutes! :D


CONGRATS WENDY (again.) I was going to guess the girls were from Greece. Very cool photo.

BTW, thank you to whoever voted for mine (#3) I was thrilled that someone (besides me) actually chose mine!

The one girl's eyes in SirMax's photo are incredibly beautiful.

I always wonder which photos I would vote for if I was allowed to vote. It's hard to say because I know who took all the photos and there's no way I could be unbiased.

We took lots of pictures of her and in one picture the other girls are giving her the "evil" eye because we kept taking her picture.

I actually voted for #7...I loved that picture.
