The day a new Third Day CD comes out is always so exciting! I remember almost every Third Day CD release date. I especially remember when Time came out. Dan came home from work at lunch time with it in his hand. He said, "The first people to buy it also get this EP called Southern Tracks!" I was so excited!!! Just as I am today with the release of Revelation!

Assuming I don't botch up the scheduling (I may stay up to make sure it actually STARTS, what time does Leno usually come on? And how long does the show run, an hour?) I'll be recording the whole show directly to DVD too.

Anyone know if Leno is actually interviewing them, or if they're strictly going on to perform?

Awaiting a wee box in my mail, since I got a shipping confirmation from MT over the weekend saying it was en route. (Although at this point, would much prefer a Wii box to come, I got one of those on ebay last week, should be shipping this week too. :cool: LOL)

Got you covered. :) Assuming I don't botch it that is. Last time I tried to record directly to DVD, I tried to use the XP (1 hour) speed to get the better quality, and the band performance that I wanted to record (Gavin Rossdale! *sob!*) came on at 1 hour and 2 minutes, just as the DVD clicked off, and I missed it. :mad: Thank you David Letterman.

I'll stick with the standard SP (2 hr) this time, so as to make sure it doesn't shut off too soon again. Yes, she can be taught! :P

It's finally here!!!!!!! This is "street week" for the new CD and the guys will be so busy. Anxiously awaiting my CD although I've had the joy of listening to the pre-order stream for many months. :cool:

Same here. I've played it to death already, but am looking forward to hearing it in GOOD stereo, not to mention finally getting to read the liner notes of a real CD. :cool:

I didn't see anything listed on their website either. The e mail came from lackey@thirdday.com and included a behind the scenes look for Revelation right above the section about GMC. :confused:

I think it was a last minute decision because I checked the guide a few days ago thinking they would have something special on release day, but didn't see anything.

If you go to http://www.gospelmusicchannel.co m/ & click the forward button where it shows Fireflight on Front Row Live, it says they will be playing Third Day's Faith & Fame (it's good!) at MIDNITE ET and then the WIRE Front Row Live (which is the same as the Live Wire DVD except for the guys talking to the camera in between the songs. We'll get to see Brad again!) at 1 AM ET.

I don't see the Inside Third Day Documentary listed on their website. They've played it before, as well. It's the one from CV2.

This is indeed a happy, happy day. I absolutely LOVE this new album. It's the best yet. I cried when I heard "Let Me Love You". There isn't a 'bad' song on this album. It's just incredible and if people don't get the message.... All that talk was so premature. Glad the record showed they are not selling ANYTHING out. THANKS GUYS FOR TOUCHING MY LIFE FOR THE LORD! :D

Leno runs from 11:34 to 12:37 according to NBC.com. I hope he interviews them! Fingers crossed!!

I think if you use the SP (2 hr) speed you should be ok. Just set the time a few minutes before start time and a few minutes after end time. Or be brave and just stay up. :eek: I am going to be SOOO tired tomorrow. Oh well, you only live once!! :P

Yay! So one way or another I'll get to see the lovely Diane ... er ... Third Day.

I have not had time to actually play it, I have zipped thru before stopping as soon as I heard "I Will Always Be True"... probably because it just starts with vocals, but I played it over and over. Instant favorite. Then stopped again on "Give Love". Got it...Love it. :)

Oh well. I guess I can wait one more day. But, I am a little upset that I paid extra to have it delivered today and then it was sent Ground instead of Express.

In one of the other threads, they said if you paid extra for faster shipping and didn't get it, email them and tell them, they need to refund you at least PART of the shipping cost back.

I paid for the cheapest shipping option I think, figuring I'd be listening to the stream anyway, so no rush for the actual CD, and the CD came today anyhow. Go figure.

I'm out of my mind. I picked up the CD at Lifeway at 11 a.m. and I already have listened to it three times. I almost hate that I have to sleep at some point tonight.

I usually have to listen to a new release at least 6-8 times to really be able to make a judgment on it, but I think this album immediately vaults up to very near the top of the 3D list -- perhaps the top. I still have a very strong spot in my heart for Time, and I'm not yet ready to say this supplants it.

It is very obvious that Howard Benson's influence -- and the band members have described him as basically cajoling them as much as leading them -- has taken them to a new level. I really wasn't overly excited about Wire or Wherever You Are -- it seemed like they really lost their Southern rock roots. But Revelation has some outstanding rockers. And I really think they hit a home run with the songs that incorporated Lacey Mosley, Robert Randolph and Chris Daughtry.

I absolutely love "This Is Who I Am," "Slow Down," "Call My Name," "Run To," "Revelation," and "Other Side." That may be the best six-song stretch they've ever had on an album. "Run To" is goose-bump-inspiring. I do, however, have to wonder why they put those six back-to-back to start the album. The album does seem to lose a bit of steam down the stretch. Maybe I'll feel differently after listening to it more in the coming days.

I know the guys are very proud of this album. All of their comments seemed to point to the belief that they were really pushed to excellence. They wanted this to be different and better. They weren't going to settle for more of the same. And they have succeeded.

I can't wait to hear some of these songs live. Oct. 3 couldn't come soon enough.

If that's what thirdday.com's cheapest shipping was, then that was what I paid. Well worth it to know the songs by heart before the CD even got here this afternoon and get the "Shake" download. :)

I felt the same way you did when I first started listening, that those first back to back songs were absolutely amazing, and that the second half lost a little something after that. But I'm thinking it's not that the second half is bad, those songs are great too, it's just that the first half of the CD is SO outstanding, it sort of overpowers the second half. Keep listening. If you're anything like me, if you can pull your ears away from the first half of the CD long enough to give the second half a fair shake, you'll probably like them just as much. I know I do now. In the beginning I just didn't play them enough, I'd get to Other Side, and then restart it from the beginning again. And again. And again. :cool:

Anyone else feel like if this CD were on vinyl (for those old enough to remember vinyl ;) ) that there would be a very definite split into a Side A and a Side B?

That's happened to me before, Karen. This time, though, I paid the extra $ to get it on the release date. My nephew called me to see if they were here. I had to disappoint him and say they are coming tomorrow. He'll be okay. But, I hated having to disappoint him. I saw that thread. I posted in it, too. I am gonna call them after my package comes tomorrow. :rolleyes:

Got the cd today and popped in the car cd player on the way home. It was almost like I'd never heard it before! The bass and drum work that came through my car speakers never made it through my computer speakers! Tai's riff's on This is Who I Am and David's tom work in the beginning of Run to You are just sick! I haven't gotten to hear it all the way through yet but I may just go for a drive (now that gas is an astoundingly low $3.65 :rolleyes: ) so I can jam some more.

Huge difference. I've pretty much blown out 2 sets of computer speakers listening to the stream over the last couple of months. Guess I better start saving for new car speakers!

I was planning on uploading an AVI file (full size, wide screen, just under 900mb) of just the performance for you folks that missed it or didn't want to stay up for it, or I can do something like a WMV or a lower resolution AVI, if you want something a little smaller. Or if you think you want to archive it directly to a disc, I can do something with that too. (I'm your full service A/V geek. ;) )

The full size avi file is ready to upload now, if everyone who thinks they might download is good with that.

This is assuming I'm not stepping on any legal toes by doing this, of course. I've already had to deal with a speeding ticket this week, don't need any other legal issues this week. ;)
