All the pictures are very good - difficult to chose between them. I particularly like the ones with trees, water and mountains. The one with the clouds coming over the mountains is great.

Maybe because I accidentally deleted the whole thread a few hours ago. Doh! :P

I'll re-add the photos, but it will take a little bit.

I'm not sure if you were talking about mine (#7). If so, thank you!

My entry was Guadalupe Peak, Texas' highest mountain. Me and a friend were on our way to Carlsbad Caverns, on a rather wet, cloudy day. So we stopped and visited the park. Actually, the photo is called "Yield Sign with Mountain in Background".

Ha Ha, just kidding... :D

Nope. You can borrow one from the zoo. ;)

While smiling and posing for a photo. :P

Not sure either of my cats can be trained to do anything much apart from running to the bowl when it is filled.

Does anyone have a singing, dancing cat? Maybe a Cat in a Hat!

There's a circus in town. I was thinking of borrowing a big cat. ;) Preferably one that's well trained!

Nor have I! Can I send you a large cat for a pet? He could purr at your feet. (I figured an elephant probably wouldn't fit into your room, and they're difficult to mail, anyway.) :P

My picture was taken in Sri Lanka. It is the Indian Ocean. The interesting thing is I took that picture is a cheap camera I got when I bought my printer. That camera has since gone the way of the trash. Never know what you might get ....didn't realize how pretty the picture was until I got home.

Mine is from the field across the road from my favorite ice cream stand. Every year they plant huge fields of sunflowers for a fundraiser. And whatever sunflowers that don't sell is fed to the cows that are making the delicious milk for the homemade ice cream. Works for me! Gorgeous view and the best ice cream ever!:D

Mine was from a church trip to Italy in 2006. This shot was taken while riding on a bus to Herculaneum and Pompeii. Mt. Vesuvius is in the background.

It's neat to know where these beautiful places are... Italy, Indian Ocean, Niagra Falls... CONGRATS, KAREN!
I'm not sure where I was when I took mine (yeah, I am a little confused at times  ), but it was somewhere over the Rockies from about 32,000 ft up. (#15)

Thanks y'all. There were LOTS of great shots here!

I do know that for the second contest in a row, had I not entered myself (so pretty much felt obligated to vote for my own :P ) I would have definitely voted for ayfan's pic. I don't remember which one she entered last time, but that shot with the sunflowers this time was an amazing photo. http://www.thirdday.com/boards/images/icons/icon14.gif

I shot mine on the road between Cherokee and Gatlinburg a year or so ago. After taking about 15 blurry shots and reflection shots of my knees that bounced off the car window as we were driving, I finally ended up having pull over and get out of the car to get the shot. This one always makes me feel like climbing down there and sticking my feet in the water. :)

The next one is animals, huh? I think I entered that one last year with a real extreme close up macro shot of a fuzzy caterpillar. It didn't fare so well in the ratings so I think I'll be avoiding the creepy crawly things this year. LOL.

Yeah, so what's the prize for each round?? :)
And what exactly would "inspirational" be? Just kinda random cool things,or...?

Yeah, so what's the prize for each round?? :)
And what exactly would "inspirational" be? Just kinda random cool things,or...?

From the upcoming rules for Inspirational: "What moves your intellect or emotions? What do you find inspirational? A mother and child. A horse racing across an open field. A pastor baptizing in a river. A plant growing out of a seemingly unhealthy stony ground. Now you can show us your best inspirational photo in our Inspirational Photography Contest."

The prize for each round is one of my art prints.

Mine (#13) was taked in Dillon, Colorado last summer. They had a spectacular fireworks display over the bay on the 4th of July! Best we had EVER seen!
