In my life, I've been on and off the BC pills since I was in my teens. They gave me the most normal of cravings, but off them I crave the strangest stuff.
I just read this article (http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/23186776/) on MSNBC.com about just that.
Some of my random and strange cravings are......
Pizza and ranch dressing
Warm apples with melted chedder cheese
Cream cheese sandwich with sliced pickles on top
Cottage cheese on top of BBQ chips
Rice with Tabasco sauce
Vinegar
So what do you guys crave?

Mayo on one bread, ketchup on the other. Crush chips lightly. Oh, another one! Open a coke, drink several swallows out of it, then fill the bottle with salted peanuts. Eat and drink at the same time.

T.hanks for the instructions! Tomorrow that shall be in the house. I think I have heard of the coke and peanut thing. I like the 'fill the bottle' part!

I'm okay with the potato chip sandwich, but drives my husband bonkers is when I eat what he calls "hillbilly sandwiches" - bread, butter, tomato and onion! YUM!

Yummers! Try fresh vine-ripened tomatoes, thick sliced, generous mayo on both breads, salt and pepper to taste. So messy they have to be eaten over the sink.

Steak and cheese isn't that random, they serve steak and cheese burritos at like every Mexican dive you can imagine around here!
Forgot to mention, it may not be all that bad but.....Every time I have a chocolate shake or a Frosty, I massively crave Wendy's french fries to dip in it. YUM!

This is not a craving but...
I am told I am weird. In the summer, I might sometimes pull out a piece of frozen bread, put some Vegimite on it, and then eat it.
I have only ever met one other person who does so.
Anyone else?

The ingredients are found in Bible verses, and only the Bible refences are listed in the recipe. So to find out what to put in the cake you have to look up the verse. A fun youth group or VBS project. Let me see if I can find the book and I'll try to post it later.

Ruby red grapefruit wedges with pickled okra and cottage cheese.
That is not only strange, i think it borders on being sick! LOL! Actually, the grapefruit and the cottage cheese would be good together, but adding okra ruins it for me. I can't stand the stuff!

That seems to be a pretty popular one, actually. I think the notion of sweet and salty is a very appealing one. I would probably try this! With chocolate ice cream or cookies' n' cream

Somehow, I easily believe that.

Am I the only one who never really craves weird stuff? Just the standard stuff, chocolate, or if not chocolate, then just sugar in general.
Usually if I have a case of the munchies, what I eat is pretty much based on what we happen to have in the house at the time. Although that CAN make for some odd combos, on occasion, I guess.
Case in point, I kept dozing off while I was watching those two new game shows last night, Wipeout and Japanese Game Show, so to stay awake I started snacking.
Started with a bowl of dry Cinnamon Life cereal as an appetizer, moved on to a handful of dry roasted peanuts, and finished up with a couple of pieces of beef jerky. With a lukewarm coffee chaser. :D
Wasn't actually craving any of it, but it just worked out that that's what was handy. And it did keep me awake. :P

I know it sounds bad, but when I was pregnant with my daughter, I worked in the hospital and they would make that for me every morning, and once a week they would make me a little bowl of chocolate gravy to go with it.

06-25-2008, 01:15 PM

But they're still awesome.

My gramma made the finest fried green tomatoes anywhere. No need to add anything. There was a kick to 'em, and she never wrote down a recipe. That's why I add a little hot sauce, that's the only way I can make 'em taste like gramma's.

I add hot sauce to the eggs. Dip the thick green tomato slices in the seasoned egg, then in yellow corn meal mixed with a little salt. Fry in hot oil and when they are golden, brown and delicious, ENJOY! YUMMY!!!
