this maybe a stupid question, but is it evil to watch Buffy? i mean i know she kills evil but what about the later years when Willow turns wika (spelling?) because her girlfriend (literal girlfriend. she turned gay) got killed and those sex scenes they show 9not between Willow and her gf, of course.) i see the spiritual message to it. killing witches and vamps. but still. it's what they do when they aren't in the graveyard.

I wrestled with that question when I use to watch it. I love that kind of show with vampires ect. which is why I also watched "Angel" when he got his spin off. I don't think it's a godly thing to be watching and given a chance to do it again I may not. I'd be interested in what others think as well. We ARE responsible to live a godly life and that includes what we watch on t.v., see in movies and listen to.

I wrestled with the same questions as well. I used to watch Buffy, and Charmed, which was about witches fighting evil. Both have excellent stories, which I think make great entertainment. I quit watching Charmed, because there is a Ouija board in the opening credits, and those are evil. Plus they used to scry when looking for some one. I don't things these things are of God, so I ultimately quit watching. I think Buffy goes along similar lines which supernatural stuff, but I did watch both when they were on the air.

I wish they had more Christian based TV on television, or at least more Christian writers. I used to like Touched by an Angel. Great stories there.

All these shows are what you make of them. They do have some good aspects like the fight against evil, but they are also celebrating magic and the likes. If THAT is a problem for your faith then better stay away from such shows!

I try not to lump all things as either evil or Godly. I used to watch Buffy and Angel (mainly because I had a HUGE thing for David Boreanez...I actually can't stand his show Bones, haha).

Pray deeply about it and ask God what He thinks, not us. Conviction and discernment come easier as we build our relationship with Him.
