We use whole reading /word attack skills to predict or guess the words we are reading.
The first and last letters of a word are often consonants, which have have fewer variations in pronunciation, and they make it easier to guess the words. (The five vowels, which often occur within the word, have many more spelling and pronunciation variations.)
Also, we can guess whether the word will be a noun, a verb, an adjective, a preposition etc from the order of the words around it.
Punctuation marks such as question marks, commas to separate phrases and clauses, and capital letters as in Cambridge University, and numbers such as 55 and 100 also help the flow of reading.
I couldn't help but respond to this, being an English as a Second Language teacher. :P
By the way, accurate spelling is important!!!! :D :D :D

Of course I can read it. I'm a nurse, I've been reading doctors' handwriting for over thirty years. In comparison, this is a breeze.
