This weekend The Incredible Hulk hits theaters, following Iron Man's great run. Soon, The Dark Knight will be showing. Another summer with movies based on comic books. Some have been winners (think Spider-Man and Batman Begins) while others have been losers (think Superman Returns and Elektra).

What do you think of movies based on comic books?

I used to read lots of comic books and I rather like superhero movies.

I thought the last Hulk movie was very disappointing, it faioled with its story line, animation and did not stay loyal to the original comic book.

Ironman looks great, I saw a small portion of it on a bootleg and cannot wait for the DVD to come out to see it.

Most movies that come out are on subjects I know very little about, so I do not get frustrated it they wander away from the original story. With comic books I get frustrated it they 'butcher' the character.

The Dark Knight Batman series is coming along well although I get more entertainment from the original Adam West series and movie.

I prefer the productions that are aimed at an adult and child audience, I do not want too much gore or adult themes, just a rip roaring roller coaster of a movie with lots of action and fun.

The new Incredible Hulk movie pretends the other one doesn't exist. It's not a sequel, but a do-over.

Tony Stark is in it as well which means Marvel will really start pushing an Avenger's movie.

Rumor has it, producers want Brad Pitt to play Thor. Captain America has been greenlighted with 2011 release.

Jason, I liked the 1989 Batman more than the Bale version, and I thought the first Spiderman was especially lame.

I liked the 1989 Batman version but much preferred Bale's version. His version though represents a relatively newer version of the Batman comic that has a darker edge. Heath Ledger's Joker will be nothing like Jack Nichlolson's.

We'll just have to agree to disagree on Spider-Man.

I liked all 3 of the new Spiderman movies, and I've only seen the first Fantastic 4 one, but that was good as well.

spiderman 3 was ok. It needed more venom. Maybe he'll return in 4 and make everything ok.

I watched the beginning of the Hulk movie last night.

They have stolen my line...

"Don't make me hungry, you won't like me when I'm hungry!"

I voted, "they're ok" only because for me it depends on the comic. Some are great, but with others I just go, "meh." I do enjoy the new Batman movies because they are darker. The Tim Burton ones actually seem more twisted to me than Batman Begins. I also liked the X-men movies, but that's because I actually read those. And I will probably see the new Hulk movie simply for the fact that Edward Norton is in it.

They did hint at this fairly heavily at the end of the movie.

I agree there. Loved the X-Men movies. I have really enjoyed all 3 of the SpiderMan movies too.
As far as Batman, I have liked Christian Bale the best. And I am so glad that the new Incredible Hulk movie is not a sequel to the one out a few years ago. I like to pretend that one never existed too Jason!! LOL!!!

X-men 3 is absolutely terrible and downright offensive to any fan of the X-men.

How do you really feel? Of course I haven't actually READ comic books since I was 12 so I don't really remember them well enough to be offended.

I loved it.

Iron Man was my absolute favorite comic book movie.

Was Iron Man really that good? I'm not trying to take anything away from it, I haven't even seen it yet. But it is good enough to become the new standard for superhero movies? I just saw a commercial for the new Hulk movie claiming it's "every bit as good as Iron Man."

As far as I'm concerned, the standard remains the 1980s version of Flash Gordon...definitely.

Personally, I think that Iron Man was "that good". As a girl, I wasn't sure if I would like it. I mean I love the Batman movies, and I kind of liked Spiderman, but I was kind of iffy about Iron Man. well, when I left the theatre, I wanted to go right back in and watch it again. It was AWSOME!

As for The Hulk, I haven't seen it and probably won't so I don't know how it compares with Iron Man. I'm really not a Hulk fan.

I still love the Batman episodes and movies with Adam West and Frank Gorshin as the Riddler. Riddler was my favorite villian.

A movie about Captain America would be a hit. They would have to tackle his death at some point. Certainly not in the first movie though.

As for Thor, yes, that would be a great idea!
