NPR: Roman Catholic Priest Snubs Lawyer over Obama Endorsement

Conservative lawyer Douglas Kmiec was denied communion recently at a mass connected with a gathering of Catholic business people. The priest denounced Kmiec's endorsement of Sen. Barack Obama, then refused to give Kmiec communion.

Kind of getting a little medieval with the politicizing* of rites. I know abortion is a watershed topic, but how many other different evils might one be supporting in voting for another candidate? I mean, if we're counting that is.


*Politicizing might not be the exact word others would use.
