I loved Fawlty Towers. I also really loved Red Dwarf. My favorite was the cat. However, my ultimate favorite in British comedy is Monty Python. Some of their wit I didn't care for (The Life of Brian) but their skits on the TV show like the "cheese shop", "looking for an argument", etc. I found really funny. :P

I loved Fawlty Towers and Red Dwarf too. There was also one on for a little while that I liked called "My Hero". Then "Keeping up Appearances" and "Are you being Served" are some of my favorites also.

I saw some Flying Circus the other day. Battle of the Twits, I believe it was. Rather humorous in a  kind of way.

There's one my grandma watches every night that is about people in a rest home. She just says "It's time for my little old men."

I like several of the ones already mentioned. "Fawlty Towers", "Keeping up Appearences", and "Are You Being Served?" Has anyone seen the followup to that called "Are You Being Served Again?"

I've generally not been a fan of british humor...until i saw this movie (http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0795368/). It's easily one of the funniest movies I've ever seen. LOVED IT! (inspite of it's potty mouth language)

I LOVE Fawlty Towers, if I am having a downer of a day, I stick that in, always makes me laugh.

One could consider the old Doctor Who series comedies if you pay close attention to the 'special effects'!!

Monty Python & (I know I"m a bad boy) Benny Hill are my favorite British Comedies. There's a Benny Hill collection with all of his shows available on DVD that I'd like to get.....

I guess I'm a bad boy for likin' B.H., eh?

Don't worry, Tony, haven't seen a LOT of the Benny Hills, they were usually aired too late for me to stay up (she says as she's typing this at 12:30am, LOL), but the few I saw I thought were hilarious.

I've not actually watched a whole lot of Monty Python, the series, but do tend to like the movies, particularly Holy Grail and - and this might make me worse than you on the "bad" scale - Life of Brian. :P

Does the old BBC series Hitchhikers Guide to the Galaxy count as a comedy? I know I've definitely laughed my way through a few of those episodes. :D

I completely forgot about Mr. Bean. I've never watched the series, but have seen both movies of his. He's just so bizarre. Hilarious. :D

Hey, what about that series Creature Comforts, that was originally a British thing that we eventually did our own version of over here, that lasted all of maybe two or three episodes. THAT was funny.
