Why would anyone need something like that, didn't Buffy slay them all already? :D

By the description, the guy sounds like he's serious!

Did you see the guy's site that Genna posted the link to in the other thread? He's apparently VERY serious about all this paranormal stuff.

Couldn't get any of his pictures to come up though, although that might just be my wonky computer.

I once made a 'tattoo removal kit' for a friend's boyfriend.

It was in a purpose made box and contained various grades of emery/sandpaper, a vial of alcohol and lots of sticking plasters (and a disclaimer stating that if used, there was no guarantee that it would work or not cause scarring). They loved it.

Maybe I should have marketed it like this guy - $70 dollars per kit!

$10.00 is worth it just for the 1896 German holy book!

Maybe there are no vampires in Australia, Austria possibly. :)

Do you have bats or just wombats?

I have some Holy Bibles over 100 years old. The postage is usually more than the cost of the Holy Bible (some of them weight over ten pounds).

$10.00 is a bargain!

Shouldn't it have a cape or something?

No I think that would make him all the more obvious.

Scary? Nooo! That little guy is CUTE! :) (even if he DOES eat humans. ;) )

It says it's a possum, is that right? It looks nothing like oversized white rat-looking things that we have meandering through our yard on occasion that they call possums HERE.

I think New Zealand possums are different to US ones.

US possums drive hitch lifts on the undersides of humvees and hide in peoples garage refridgerators and scare them to death when they open it to get a beer.

NZ possums stare at you with cute likkle eyes and then jump at your jugular vein when you crouch down to stroke them.

I've heard from a friend that garlic works well to ward off vampires. Never tried it myself though. ;)

I actually saw a vampire hunting kit at the Houmas House (http://www.houmashouse.com/) in Louisiana. People were superstitious back in those days, so they kept things like this. Our guide, a very knowledgeable young man who loved talking about anything to do with the history of the area, said that when people got certain diseases, others thought they were vampires. I wonder if anyone ever used this kit? Not sure what most of that stuff is, but I'm thinking the vials contained holy water. And there is a crucifix for scaring vampires off. And we know that when you put a cross on one, it burns their skin. But I don't see anything silver or any garlic. (Yeah, I grew up on Dark Shadows.)

Silver bullets are for werewovles.

As for vampires, there is no one right or wrong legend. A person was thought to become a vampire when they were murdered or took certain illnesses or were murderers themselves. To prevent a person from becoming one, they would often pour holy water or holy wafers on the fresh grave.

You can tell I know my vampire lore. I was writing a story on it. :P I had to do my research. Most of the research I did was on Romanian vampire lore, but I also read "Dracula" and totally loved it.

Which version, the older one, or the "new and improved" version with Ben Cross?

And might I just add what a great last name THAT is for someone playing in a series about vampires! :D

That's very interesting. I eat pickles, and I have never been bitten by a vampire, so those must work as well.

Fascinating, I wonder if the garlic thing is an old wive's tale.

I think garlic must work for zombies, werewolves and polar bears too - I have never been attacked by zombies, werewolves or polar bears either.

Anyone else eat different things and have never been attacked by a vampire?

Maybe we should made a list of handy snacks to keep at hand. :)

I'm gonna say no on the zombies. I eat both pickles and garlic and have been attacked by zombies. Vampires, though, they have stayed away.

Garlic & Pickles 1, Vampires 0

Zombies 1, Pickles 0

Indeed! And for the zombies, you can always read the survival guide anyway.
