Wow, Yahoo , That can pay off the college loans and expenses at college for activities and tutorials and text books and food and accommandation etc. since uni students here in new zealand would love to have that much to pay off their uni loans .
35 Million...forget buying books and stuff; I'd pay off whatever loans I owed and forget about college

How many blocks of cheese can you buy with that amount of money, due the price of dairy products skyrocketing

God is very critical when it comes to rich persons which is why I would feel obliged to use the money for something good. Things like starting a buisness (i.e. creating jobs!) and such come to my mind.

Honestly - I never want to be rich in money. I'm just thankful to have what I need to support my family. I have always felt that being rich would change my whole life in ways that I wouldn't be happy with. Sure - I'd love to pay off my house (and get all the remodeling done at once!) and put my kids through college without stress. But I don't want extra - I just want what I need to live simply and comfortably. My husband thinks I'm crazy whenever I say I don't want to be rich. :P
And all the attention that guy is getting - I just couldn't take that. I couldn't ever handle being a celebrity.

I've seen so many stories where peoples' lives were ruined by winning that much money. Tons of attention, thieves trying to steal your identity and money, family members/friends always asking to borrow money, etc. I'm sure this may not always be the case, but I do believe this kid is going to have a tough road ahead of him.

If you're smart with it, it wont be gone. For one thing, this kid is planning to TITHE with his money first thing, then buy his mother a house. He gave the glory to Him and I believe God will honor him and take care of him.
If I won that kind of money, there's no telling what I would do. I'd love to start an orphanage somewhere. I'd also love to open my own photography business and buy a ranch. I could live happily ever after on my own ranch.

I think it goes more along the lines of he'd have an excuse to be an a-hole if he won the lottery. Now he's just a poor a-hole, but if he won he'd be a rich a-hole.

(Ok, back on topic)
This isn't that much money, folks. There are many people in the USA who make more than that every year.
For instance, Forbes estimated that Tiger Woods made $100 million dollars last year.
8.9% of Americans are millionaires. That translates to roughly 2.6 million people in the USA alone. L.A. has the most millionaire households.
A good way to become a millionaire is to become a Senator -- 40% of them are millionaires:http://www.cnn.com/2003/ALLPOLITICS/06/13/senators.finances/

I never desired to be a millionaire for any other reason than to help my family, help people, and travel the world with the greatest singing group of all time, The Happy Yodelers...oh wait...But I do want to travel the world.

You guys ever heard of the Rowlings Foundation (http://www.hotel-online.com/News/PR2006_3rd/Sep06_RRowling.html)? They basically donate money for missionary causes. They work with my parents in Colombia and now have a HUGE property that will provide room and board for over 800 young people for camps every week. The coolest thing is that the kids get to go for free. I don't think ~20 million would fit the bill, but it would be cool to perhaps provide support for a number of missionary families for a lifetime.
