And we're facing a cold, wet winter. Yuck. I hate being cold, I hate standard time cos it gets dark too early, and the heater dries out my skin. But at least it's not hurricane season anymore.

Autumn and winter are terrible on the skin lots of moisturizer and chap stick since the lips do get chapped really badly in those two seasons

Yeah, I know. I'm about to take a nice hot shower and then slather down with baby oil. Emu oil on my feet to prevent cracked heels. Doesn't that sound nice?

I'm sure none of that would hurt. I have been using a heating pad to allay some of the pain. It had got so bad that I was having like sharp shooting pains down my right arm. :(

Nope and I can't afford it anyway.

I'm fairly certain that once NaNoWriMo is over, I'll fell a little better.

That reminds me, I reached the half way mark last night, 25,000 words!!!! This is a HUGE deal to me, making this the longest story I've ever written and actually stuck with. I've said all along that I'll get done and now I'm beginning to believe that I'll get to 50,000 words.

How much does Paint Shop Pro cost?

A slightly older version, Paint Shop Pro X, can be bought through Amazon third-party sellers for around $50.

The newest version is about $70 but a lot of people are complaining about it on Amazon.

Genna14

I have version XI and I love it. I couldn't be happier! It cost me $100 brand new.

Jason

Corel Paint Shop Pro Photo X2 Ultimate is the latest. $65.99 at Amazon, but like I said it's getting a lot of bad reviews. I use 8.

TigerSpectator

Genna14

With Corel, its always hit or miss. Sometimes they have great programs like Animation Shop, but you have to learn to use them the right way or your images will come out grainy.

I would dance but NaNo is KILLING ME! I'm staying up until around 2-3 am just writing all night! Still thrilled for the boys!!!!

Here's a small excerpt I've written:

As she began her march to classes once more, she heard a sound of the most unearthly value. It tinkled through the hall of the school and pleasured her ears. Never in her life had she ever heard a sound so beautiful, so haunting. It seemed to call to her, whispering her name. As if an invisible hand guided her, she walked in the direction of the music and found herself in a recital hall. A man with silver hair was pounding away on an instrument that never in her life could she have imagined.

It was an instrument of large proportions with keys attached to cables which were consequently secured to bells of varying sizes and tones. There was a large keyboard of sorts which he pounded on with his feet as well. The man played with such passion that Hannah became lost in the sound and fury of the music.

His hands moved as though they caressed the keys, but, at the same time, they commanded respect from them. The sound of the bells resonated through the room and through Hannah’s body, stirring up emotions within her that she could not identify. The song itself was like nothing she’d ever heard. The melody spoke to her things that only the heart can understand. When the song ended, she felt as her heart would break, and she didn’t know why. There was inexplicable beauty and sadness in the song he played.

So lost in the music was she, that she didn’t notice the man glance in her direction several times in the duration of the song. Her heart wept as she listened, tears traced little paths down her winter chapped cheeks. So deeply drawn into the heavenly notes was she that when they ceased, she felt lost and confused, as though she’d lost a piece of herself.

She stood, dazed, as though expecting more. Her mind willed her to move, but her body refused the action. She somehow thought that if she made any small movement, the magic would disappear.

Just to clarify, everyone who hits the 50,000 word mark becomes a winner. I just did it way before the deadline. Like....seven days before the deadline. And I'm not so sure what to do with myself now. Lol I just really wanted to hit the mark before Turkey Day! YUM! My favoritest holiday!

NurseBettyLu

Well, some stores over here open as early as 4am on the day after Thanksgiving, otherwise known as Black Friday because store owners count on that day's income to bump them into the black for the year. Stores offer really good bargains for early shoppers, some even serve breakfast. It's not enough to lure me out, though.

Oh, his heart's in the right place, but he doesn't have a clue and usually ends up making things worse. So we've given him two jobs: clean up after yourself, and don't annoy your wife. You have to be smart with your money, because you're not guaranteed work. And I haven't been quitew as aggressive as I normally would be at replacing the lost shifts, because I really needed a few days off. But now I'm going to have to start looking harder. I don't like hospitals. The work is too hard and the paycheck too little. Closer to Christmas, shifts will open up in the correctional system. Okay, the work environment is not too great, but the pay is excellent. And you can eat free if you don't mind eating what the inmates eat.

Here I am! Wasn't feeling real great last night and went to bed early. This is my last night off as Peter is being discharged from the hospital in the morning. Whew!

I've been away from him for twelve days now, I can't wait! Spent a coulpe days of that time taking care of a precious little girl, a victim of Shaken Baby Syndrome. Born perfectly healthy, now profoundly brain-damaged. I may pick up the occasional fill-in shift with her, oh, she breaks my heart.
