I am happy to have received my t-shirt and "stuff" but cannot help but wonder what the laminate is for? It has a neck cord and I guess I saw some people wearing them at the concert, but does it get you anything?
Curious...

I would say not really but throw it in your bag when you go to a show. That way if somehow you have to prove you are a WIRED member that could come in handy.

They identify you as a wire member in case you are going to a meet and greet. Of course they are handy for letting others know that you are a member of Wire, a great way to start a conversation and share horror stories..

Things like "Oh, YES, it looks so shiny and new because I signed up for Wired back in October of last year, and it took them THIS long to send it to me!"? :D :o Bwahahaha.

What you do is get just a neck cord, and wear that to a show. Then when someone asks about it, just act like "What do you MEAN you can't see it?" wave the cord in front of their face, and "it's right here in front of your face!" Works even better if you had someone IN on the joke with you to back you up. :D
Guaranteed to send them running to the eye doctor the next day. LOL. ;)

That's only if you are the twelve or so people who have actually received the laminate.

So they actually USED them for the M&G admission in the later shows? We had little nylon kind of sticky patches at the Christmas shows to get in because 2 months after the Wired sign ups, I don't think anyone had actually received their membership kits yet. Except maybe for the folks who actually signed up at the shows. What did they tell us back then? Oh yeah, "they should be going out in a couple of weeks". Bwahahahaha!
I guess if they actually HAVE a function, I'd better find mine again then, huh. Wonder if my Blue Man Group laminate would work instead, it's from Music Today too. Wonder if anyone would notice the difference. LOL.

The two shows I went to in the spring just checked my name off a list, because half the folks there had not rec'd laminates, but they did not do the stickies. I wondered at the end of the night how the girl waving us back knew if we were legitimate wried members or not. No one checked ID's or anything. At the Columbus, GA show, I think some folks figured that out, because there were a whole bunch of folks at that one.

Since you have your Wired package and I do not, why don't you try putting your lanyard on and see if it gives you and super-hero like powers. Maybe you could sing like Mac, or make cool faces like Brad when you put it on? Just wondering, since I don't have mine and all......:P

We got the stickers for our show and they check my name on a list, but I was hoping my husband could go with, but he could not. I wondered how and who got a back stage pass... while we headed to the M&G my dh thought he saw people coming out from meeting the band back stage. Not sure though...
