Is anyone else concerned that the pre-sale for the Music Builds Tour for Wired is only 4 days away and there is absolutely no information on it on the Wired web site. I'm concerned because we have to "fight" the other fan clubs for the tickets. I just want to make sure that we will be able to buy our Wired tickets on May 9!!!

So are you all planning on using the Wired pre-sale on the 9th? Or are you going to use the regular internet pre-sale on the 12th? How many good seats do you think they reserved for the different fan clubs? I'm wondering about buying them on the 12th. I know Karen has had better luck in the past with Ticketmaster than with the pre-sale. And I know how touchy things are with Music Today.

What are you'll thoughts?

I'm very skeptical of the upcoming presale, and the lack of information on the wired website is only making it worse. The good thing is that MT is in charge of all four fanclub presales, but it would be just like them to have one up and running before the others. If the presale is up on the 9th I'm going to shoot for tix that way, but unless I get the first coupla rows, I'll try again on the 12th, then sell my wired tix. I have NO FAITH in MT, and this presale could help change my opinion somewhat, but also making delivery of the wired goods would not hurt my feelings in the least. JUST DO WHAT YOU SAY YOU ARE GONNA DO!!! Is that too much to ask?

How does that work? Can you link me to any information about that?

You can usually get those through Ticketmaster.

MusicToday won't put the presale information up until the sales go up. They will do the same for all of the fan clubs. They will have certain tickets for each fan club. We won't all be fighting for the same tickets. So my advice is relax!

RELAX?!!! Are you kidding? Have you ever known any 3D fans (yourself included) to be relaxed when they know tix are going on sale? When's the info going on the Wired site?
And to say MusicToday won't put the presale info up until the sales go up is like saying they aren't putting any presale info up... period. That makes no sense.

I don't mean relax about buying the tickets. I mean relax about them being put up. If they don't put them up on time, no one else can buy tickets either, so you aren't missing out. Of course buying tickets will be a frenzied experience! LOL

MusicToday will put the information up on the day of the sale. Tickets will go on sale usually at 10 AM or noon local time, but times do vary. The day of the sale, check the WIRED site.

So how can each website have a different set of tickets? Who gets the best pick?

How very odd...

anyway....should be "fun" on Friday...

Oh and where are you people getting May 12th? The public sale according to www.thirdday.com is May 14 and May 16. Did I miss the 12th date posted somewhere????

Wendy,

I get emails from Eventtickets.net and this is what they said:

So...anyway...

The frustrating thing about just checking the Wired site to buy tickets is that I, and I assume many of us, want the best tickets possible, and since we happen to have a life, just can't sit in front of our computers all morning and hit refresh every 5 minutes. So if we were told a specific time we could plan on being at our computer at that time.

I don't see why MT has to wait until the very last second to give us information. It's very frustrating and that makes it very hard to relax about it!

I'm sorry (really, really sorry) but I'm wrong. I just found out that Switchfoot fans and Third Day fans will all be picking tickets out of the same pot. So yeah. Forget I said to relax. This will probably be the hardest ticket pull ever. Also, all the tickets go on sale at the same time according to time zone. So if you are buying tickets for any of the Texas/Oklahoma shows, the sales for all four start at the same time. That is bad news for anyone going to more than one of those shows.

I'm trying to find out now if the shows all go up at 10 AM. I think they do.

I am with Cindy on this. I will be at work, whether the pre-sale is at 10:00 am or 12 noon. At work with NO internet access I must add. Even if I could know the time even just 1 day ahead of time, I could try to plan to have someone get the tix for me, or even be able to be home at that time and then go back to work. This very same thing happened to me for the Christmas Tour. I was able to use some comp time I had coming to me to go into work late. I had to be at work at 11 AM. My assumption was that the pre-sale would be at 10 AM, giving me plenty of time to snag tix and get to work. WRONG, the pre-sale was going to start at 1 PM. I went into a panic!!!!!!!!! Full blown!!!!!!! I gave up that I would be able to get any decent seats!! My best friend went home on her lunch break and got the tix for me. That was a very rough day. I really wish they could give more info well before the day of the presale so people can make plans to be at a computer at the right time!!!
Knowing that we will be competing with Switchfoot fans hurts my feelings too!! I just hope we all come out with some really good seats!!

I have a question. If for some reason I can't get to a computer or have someone get tix for me on May 9th, then what about this Internet pre-sale on the 14th. What is the name of the site for this pre-sale? Is this also thru Third Day, or is it Ticketmaster or something like that? What time is the pre-sale on the 14th?? Any info would be very helpful!! Corrine
05-05-2008, 03:33 PM
Okay, let me clarify.

The WIRED presale and the presale for Switchfoot's fan club is May 9th at 10:00 AM in whatever timezone the city you are buying tickets is in, ie, if you are buying tickets for a Texas show, they go onsale on WIRED at 10:00 AM Central Time on May 9th. All the shows go up at the same time (10:00 AM in their time zones), on the same day (May 9).

I do not know where the internet presale will be, but yes, if you don't get anything good on May 9th, try again on the next sale date. Remember, if WIRED gives you tickets you don't like, don't buy them. Try again, or wait until the next sale date.

Yes, we are trying to arrange a Great Gomer Gathering, and it's looking like it might be in Houston on October 3. I will know more next week. (I'm sorry we can't plan these things farther ahead of time. Usually this is how it works. They give us the schedule of shows, and bam! They are on sale! So not a lot of time for planning.)

If you think you might want to go to the G3-08, you could buy yourself Houston tickets. Your chances of selling them if you don't use them are very good.

Also, you might want to prepare yourself for sticker shock. The way I understand it, there will be a variety of ticket prices at each of these shows. I don't know how much they will be, but KSBJ in Houston is selling a package deal for this show, a MercyMe show, and a TobyMac show. The ticket prices for those three shows combined says:

Ticket Package Prices (good for one ticket to all three amazing shows!):
Price Level 1 : $117.00
Price Level 2 : $102.00
Price Level 3 : $71.00
Upgrade to Pit for Third Day/Switchfoot: $152.00

So be prepared for a ticket price, for the good seats, that is a little higher than what you are used to paying for a Third Day show. But this is a very big show with four big bands.

So working off the highest price for 3 shows - $152 - that works out to be about $50 per ticket per day? That's not too bad, even it by NOT buying a 3 show package makes it a little higher than that.

Now, the package thing, that's just a Houston thing, right? I've not seen anything said anywhere else about there being multiple days being combined into a single package deal at any of the other shows. Like in Raleigh. I'm assuming that there will be tickets available for just that one show on just that one day. Nothing has been said about it being combined with any other shows that weekend...

KSBJ has a handful of tickets they are able to sell in their package deal.

Sooooo...

May 9th Wired PreSale
May 12th Some shows seem to be going on sale...????
May 14th Internet sale (which website???)
May 16th Public sale

May 12th is the Jars of Clay fan club presale, and possiby the Robert Randolph and the Family Band presale as well.
May 14th is the internet presale, presumably on www.LiveNation.com

No, $117 is for three shows, so that's about $39 per show. If you want the good seats for the Houston Third Day show only, it's $35 more, so $74 for that show alone.

That would be up to the individual radio stations. As far as I know, it's just Houston, but there may be more.

If there is any good news, it's that Jars of Clay does not have a Fan Club that will be scooping up tickets on May 9. According to their management, their fans won't be able to buy until May 12.

I was figuring $152 being the cost for pit seats for all three shows, not just the one. hello friendly gomers! I hail from the switchfoot.com boards! I was searching ticket prices for the music builds tour and stumbled upon this thread. I would just like to help calm everyone down.

You see most switchfoot fam's are college students. $40-$50 per ticket are very much out of a college students price range. many of my fellow fam's have already stated that they will have to sit out this tour. even if the college students decide they do want to go, they will probably be buying the cheap seats.
You also have to take into account that about 40% of switchfoot fans are non-christian. Some of them dont mind all the CCM artists as co-headliners, but then again some of them do. They will most likely sit this tour out as well and wait for the winter tour.
And also on June 7 is the switchfoot Bro-Am. Which is switchfoot's yearly charity event, free concert, and surf contest. Its the largest gathering of switchfoot fans every year! People save up all year so they can fly down to san diego for a week to attend the Bro-Am. high ticket prices just dont cut it with that kind of budget.
and one more peice of information you might like to know, the switchfoots fan club is brand new. its only been around for about a month and a half. I think there are only like 200 members altogether. and around 30 members will show up per city in the US. one time there were only 5 of them!

I really dont think you will be fighting many switchfoot fam's for front row seats. most of us boardies/fams will be digging the bottom of our change jars to afford a back row seat. which is where youll find me at the Dallas show!:)
The only switchfoot fans you have to worry about are the teens/preteens whose parents will be taking them. but, I shall see all you lovely gomers there! this tour should rock.

peace.
Erin

Okay what????

This is what is so crazy about pre-sale info not going up until the day before, or the morning of the sale. No tme to address those details and make alternate plans, etc.

And also, no telling which seats in which tiers are actually going to be made available for the presale!

For some reason I don't see the Sacramento date listed on the Third Day or Switchoot sites? Anyone know why that is? Do I have to wait to purchase those tix?

Getting the info so late does stink!!! I hope we can all get great seats, whether thru the presale or the general public sale later. Can't wait to see you Gomies on the road. Anyone coming to Virginia Beach???

Check my earlier post. I wrote that they don't have a fan club. That's why they are not part of the pre-sale Friday.

O.K. Switchfoot also is supposed to have an internet presale (not fan club) on the 12th.

I was just at the music today site and a lot of ticket links are up, but it's not 10 a.m., so are not available yet, although they don't list Phoenix which is what I want a ticket for. Now I'm wondering if Phoenix is even having a presale. Sigh...

I haven't heard anything from Friends of the Foot of Wired about the presale at all. If I weren't on here, I wouldn't even know there was one.

So yes, the Sept 14 date is there. The bad news:

Ticket Price:
$131.00 - Price Level 1
$61.00 - Price Level 2
Price includes $6.00 parking fee.

I just don't think I can justify a $131 or even a $61 dollar ticket price when I have to drive 2 hours there and back. So, I'm sad to say, after all this, I can't go. Just can't afford it. Truth is, I just want to see Third Day. I don't really care for Switchfoot or Jars of Clay (don't shoot me). I hope 3D makes another round of touring in the Spring so I can just see them and ticket prices will be back to normal.

I'll go cry now.

I was wondering if 3D was going to do a "just them" tour in the spring for the new CD.

'cause I'm kinda in the same boat. I fortunately don't have to travel for this one, but out of the four bands, I'm essentially just going to see 3D. But not objecting to Jars though, they were great at the Christmas shows.

But if 3D weren't playing, no question, I'd not be going... so still trying to decide whether it's worth the big bucks when I'm only going to see the one band...

*tick tock tick tock! 45 more minutes until SOMETHING happens! :) *

Hi ErinMarie,

That was nice of you to take time to make a comment here to try to ease our minds about tickets. I've never seen Switchfoot before, and hope it works out that I will be able to make the Chicago show.

This is the first time I've tried to buy tickets from the Wired site. It says presale begins today for DTE 8/21. I click on it and it just takes me back to the Wired page. So I read in the presales blog that I need to go to www.musicbuildstour.com to buy tickets. I go to that site and it says presale tickets are on sale on the Wired site.

What the heck?

You need to go to the "ticketing" section of the Wired website and then click on the "buy tickets" on the show you want.

Thanks. I just figured it out. You have to open another window to look at the venue's seating charts too!

Been trying for 15 minutes on both price levels.

At this moment there are not enough tickets available to fulfill your request. Please try again using a lower quantity of tickets or choosing a different ticket type.

I tried Chicago too - got the same thing. I just wanted to see what is availble. I was hoping it would tell me that all the good seats were taken so that I wouldn't feel so hearbroken over not being able to go.

Maybe they all just sold out right away?

We got ours ordered for Blossom music in Cleveland. Ended up going with the second tier of tickets and still got front row. They are on the right hand of the stage but that is fine. Just couldn't justify going for the top tier, which I assume is front row center.

Ok - couldn't take it. Got lower priced tix at Chicago. Section 104 Row B. So I'll be going anyhow. YAY!!!

If anyone wants front row to the San Antonio (Selma) show, go there NOW. I just pulled two and put them back. Go go go! (That's 12:45 Pacific Time)

I'm either brilliant or very stupid. I just couldn't take it. How could I miss the show. So I buckled under pressure and bought a seat. I'll be going by my lonesome.

Even purchasing them at 5:30 easter time, I was able to get row 6, seat 9 (basically center)for the D.C. show. So row 6 isn't that bad and it cost $75 when it was said and done. I could still have purchased a front row seat and it was very hard not to, but it would have cost $150!!! I could not justify 5 rows for double the price. And row 6 will still be a rockin' show and I'll get to meet them again with the meet and greet.

Now off to beg my husband's forgiveness and do some major groveling.

Please pray.

Cindy

Hey, just noticed in the E-mail I got from Wired today about the presale that anyone purchasing tix thru the pre-sale will get to download 4 free songs from the 4 bands participating in the tour. Anyone know how to get the free downloads. In the e-mail it did not say how. And there are no instructions for getting free downloads in my ticket order confirmation e-mail.
Just wondering what is up with that!!

From this thread http://thirdday.com/boards/showthread.php?t=103092 :
I think the ticket page on Wired says they'll be emailed to you within a week of your ticket purchase.

Hopefully it's just links to the mp3s and not the mp3s themselves, or there are going to be some jammed up mailboxes.
