Before you blink, the kids will be out of school and ready for some summer action and fun. I've got my Nana assignments, we will be going to Wild Adventure's in August and Rock the Universe in September. My grandkids would disown me if I left them out, they are always stoked and ready to go ride rides, eat everything that don't eat them and just rock out. They still try to get me on dueling dragons, not happening:eek: . They did get me on the Hulk last year...whew! love the fastness, but the loops are killer. My favorite is the Mummy. Dr Doom is cool and Spiderman is cooler.

Last year was big, we did AtlantaFest, I took 7 kids with me, teens and pre-teens, WOW!, my daughter Lisa and her husband Billy. It wasn't as bad as it sounds, they were actually alot of fun. So much fun, that after AtlantaFest, we went to the Varsity and the World of Coca Cola. Also, Cypress Gardens, Wild Adventures, Rock the Universe (Saturday nite.) They were at RTU with my daughter and son on Friday nite. Then, the flapjack festival in November, it was so hot then, it felt like summer, so I will call it a summer thing, but they are always ready!

You got any big Third Day plans this summer with your families, kids and grandkids (if you have them)? Or, other fun plans?

No.

I know it's not summer, but the Music Builds tour will be in Phoenix on 9/25.

We'll try to get together with Joe & Robyn on 5/17 when we see NeedtoBreathe at the First Flush Festival in Charleston. We have been fans of NTB since seeing them with 3D at the HOB. We are heading to Sonfest at Carowinds in June. We have season passes, so will be able to enjoy Third Day and the park. I'm not a ride person, but my kids love all the coasters. Our grandbaby enjoys the Nickelodeon section. My son and his friends will be going to a high adventure Scout camp in New Mexico called Philmont and Myrtle Beach in August for youth group summer camp. We'll be traveling to Raleigh in September for the MB tour.

This could be a commercial......

It just isn't summer without roller coasters, outdoor Third Day concerts, and an ice cold Coca-Cola......maybe a tropical storm or 2......

I am going to Unity Fest in Muskegon, MI for my first Third Day concert on 8/9/08. I am SO excited. I'm also going on Friday night and will see TobyMac. I've seen him once before and just loved him.

I'm taking my sister (no, not Andi) so it'll be a nice bonding sisters weekend. I can't wait.

As for coasters..... THIS http://www.cedarpoint.com/ is the ONLY place to go for coasters!!! I try and get there at least once a year.

...As for coasters..... THIS http://www.cedarpoint.com/ is the ONLY place to go for coasters!!! I try and get there at least once a year.Heh. Yeah. I went there a few years ago as a side trip with Doug when he won the trip to the Rock N Roll Hall of Fame. While we were there at Cedar Point, a park known for its coasters and the main reason I wanted to go there, that was when I discovered that he's not all that fond of roller coasters. :( He put up with a couple of them for me, poor guy, and I went on a few on my own, but some of the real doozies that I would have liked to have gone on had I had another brave soul with me, I skipped, because, well, when it comes to coasters, he's not that brave of a soul. ;) Very cool park though.

Summer plans? None, really. Seeing Van Halen at the RBC this coming Monday night, and then reserving vacation days for a trip to NY in September to catch one last Mets game at Shea Stadium before it's torn down. Oh, and the Walnut Creek 3D show whatever weekend that is in September as well.

Other than that, nada yet.

maybe a tropical storm or 2......

You wouldn't be reminiscing about Cypress Gardens last June now would ya? Let's hope the "no hurricanes" trend continues this year....or else they are all done by Rock The Universe time!

Or Tropical Storm/Depression Cindy, that blew through Kingsfest in VA a few years back. I squished back to the motel looking very much like a drowned rat that night. It was great! :D

Not summer yet, but will be seeing 3D this Sunday at Busch Gardens, Williamsburg... woohoo! We deserve some good weather on Sunday since the tornado just ripped up a good bit of Suffolk on Monday! (Please pray for our friends and neighbors there as we begin the recovery phase... it's BAD, folks!)
On to San Francisco the end of May and am really bummed that the Flight of Conchords show sold out before we got tickets for the show out there. Psyched about going to the nighttime ghostly tour of Alcatraz though.
Maybe going to Carowinds in June with Betty :D ...
definitely to the ampitheater in VA Beach for the Music Builds tour,
then to the Bahamas with the hubby in Nov to celebrate our 30th anniversary (hurricane season IS over then, isn't it?).
For someone that never really goes much of anywhere, I'd say it's gonna be a fun year!

My husband will be going to at least one show. Not sure where, one where I can get him home quickly.

My grandkids, after hearing a few songs from Revelation are ready to go!! If I went without them, I could not enjoy the show. And, I'm titled the coolest Nana by them. I love making these memories with them. My kids are getting into too...they only wish they could keep up with me. Love making the family events

My only wish would be, when my time has ended, I could hear them talking about all these memories: Remember when the grandkids started running, turned around and yelled, "come on Nana, Mom took off running with them" while we could barely move!!! No regrets, that is what it is all about.

Sorry, got a little deep there, but there is nothing like family!!

Amen! I so agree with you. I've been on a mission for 17 years now to be the best aunt I can be. I think often about the memories these kids will have of me when they're my age. "Aunt Sandy was always there, she was so much fun".... yep.... I agree. Family rocks!
