I bought this off itunes a little while ago. This is Jars of Clay's talented and classically-trained rhythm section who put out an album late last year.
If you're a fan of experimental rock, then you'll find the deep, sonic-filled beats found on this cd to be a tasty delight! The Christian music scene hasn't tasted candy like this until now...

They have a great sound, don't they? Very retro 80s, alternative for sure.

I'm bumping my own thread (can you do that?) just because this is such a great album. Check out their myspace if you haven't already...

I understand. I can see where you'd be disappointed (pun intended) especially if you're expecting predictable Christian music. There's certainly lots of that out there!

That's the drummer and the bass player who play with Jars (not actual members of the band, but Jars has always 'hired' a bass player and a drummer for album recordings and touring). I think they've played with them since around the time of redemption songs or good monsters.
I bought this a while ago and it still occupies my 'ipod on the go' list, so it's among my favorites. It's like a Depeche Mode sound (for those of you old enough to know that band) with a 'rock edge' to them. Very retro, sound they fit nicely with Jars new sound.
great stuff:)

I like em. Wanna see a Jars headline show with these guys opening up. It does have a depeche mode feel to it. I like them with Jars as well.
