Okay, I'm listening to 3D live on the Wired site, and at one point in the show, Mac says "here's a song for you OLD SCHOOL fans". This got me pretty excited because I've been a fan since the Bus CD in 96. The "old school" song was "Come On Back To Me" from Wire....

Old school? Gomer's Theme. Forever. Praise Song. Blackbird (the version heard on Chronology or the original studio recording). Believe (from Time, not to be confused with "I Believe").

Sigh... Still, Come On Back To Me rocks, of course... but old school? Really?

I sort of define Old School as anything pre-Offerings. When the band started pulling out Took My Place for a few shows there, I was jumping around like an idiot... Made me wish there was a show recorded from the Time tour or even before... Wow that would really take me back...

Of course, no matter how long you've been a fan, all 3D fans have VERY good taste... : )

Yeah, pre-Offerings sounds like a good definition to me. I'm with you, tho'. It's all sweet. Looking forward with great anticipation to the new cd. I don't know about you, but I'm sticking around till that one's "old school"!

i agree that old school is pre offerings..but it's third day so who cares? it rocks no matter what!

I'm pretty sure Mac is referring to their earlier stuff when he mentions "old school". I don't think it matters how long you've been a fan, but whether you like the older songs. Many people feel Time is the best 3D CD and Mac actually admits to "I've Always Loved You" as being one of his favorites.

It could mean fans that were fans of the band be4 Offerings 1. Fans that have been with them since the start...I donno.

I just bet Mac is referring more to the sound, the guitars, the Rock.... which is the sound of some of the old school stuff :) , not necessarily an old school song. Come on Back to Me has quite a kick to it!!

I like that explanation! Does that mean Other Side will be "old school" because it definitely has a kick?!

"The Other Side" live dips way back, a little Third Day with some stuff we've never heard but heard about. WOW!! That song has a groove to it that is beyond my own explanation to you. I love it and I already know, it is going to be my repeated replay from the new album.

It is so good!!! I'd release this one to the general public, wow. I'd release them all to the public, but this one 1st.
