That would be July 29th. Not trying to sound critical by no means, but I don't really understand why it has to be so long from now. The CD is completed I assume because according to the blogs, Tai has it in his iPod, and Nigel said that he has heard it all the way through. I guess liner notes have to be written and the packaging layout has to be completed but it just doesn't seem like it should take that long. Does anybody else know what the hold up might be? We (the fans) really are ready to get our hands on REVELATION now! (I must learn to be more patient, I agree.):D

Actually, those things you mentioned, can take that long. It's wild, but by the time they get the linear notes taken care of, pictures taken, selected, and the whole thing laid out the way they want it, that takes a long time.

Also, the record label does market research, and the release date is usually very strategic...

I sort of figured the record company had a lot to do with it. If "Call My Name" is released in a few weeks, what happens when the person who is not a 3D fan hears it on the radio, falls in love with it, a wants to go buy it? I know that a 1st single gets released before a CD sometimes, but by the time July gets here, and they've heard it many, many times on the radio, and the new is worn off, they might not go buy the CD when it does come out. Maybe I look into things too deep but I would hate to see that happen. Some people actually do buy CD's just for that one song. Maybe when "Call My Name" comes out, they can have it available for purchase/download on iTunes as a single, then they could get sales from that. Wonder if they've even thought of that. Probably have.:confused:

WIRED news indicates all the new songs are mixed and mastered. The final track sequence is being debated.

I'm guessing a lot of folks (particularly some of the Wired folk who are still waiting for their membership packets from October) will have NO intention of buying the new CD from Music Today when it becomes available, but for those who might, will package deals be made available?

And preordering? Will they do like last time, if you preorder it you'll get to stream the whole album in advance of the release date? Haven't seen anything said about anything like that yet.

Last time I preordered, I still didn't have the CD on release date. It came a few days later. Only way I'll preorder is if there are xtra goodies involved. I really like the bonus CD's like the one that came with WYA. I hope there is one this time.:)

... oh, yeah! Yes I did, thank you, but I've not had time to try it yet. I was going to drop you a note back to let you know it worked, but since I wasn't sure if I HAD actually gotten it to work yet, I was holding off. :)

But yeah, a bonus CD would be good, I wouldn't mind one of those. :cool:

I wouldn't really care if I got the CD late, myself, just so long as they offered the entire CD as a stream to listen to in the meantime.

Don't a lot of the other online order sites (like Musichristian) offer the same things, a bonus CD if there is one available, as well as a stream for preorders? If nothing more were offered here, I'd still be inclined to get it from someone else, just because when I ordered from MT the last time, some of my cases arrived broken, and when I order from the other folks, they don't.

And PLEASE, let there only be ONE cover this time, I really don't need to buy three (or was it four) copies of the same CD just to get the different covers. ;) :P

There was a photo shoot in Myrtle Beach, so the pictures and packaging still remains to be finished.

Most of us would be, but I guess the CD buying public feels differently. :D

If everything on the CD is like the sample they played in Waterloo, it will be an great album. I'm looking forward to buying it.

Mac made a comment during the Metairie, LA show that the release got delayed due to the Christmas tour they did with Jars of Clay. Tai also mentions they are about 90% done with the cover on his blog.

If MusicToday is in charge of the presales, I'll buy mine retail on release date. I hate to give them any more of my money. They are shady!
