For those lucky enough to be US Stargate fans the final chapter in the SG-1 storyline wil play out on March 11. Now, I know there are plenty of other SG-1 fans on the boards so I was wondering how you think the story might end (No spoilers!). Unfortunately, we won't get the DVD release until early to mid April here in Auz. The budget for the franchise's second feature film was three and a half times that of a normal episode so it promises to be a mega conclusion to over a decade of SG-1's adventures.
And then of course we have Continuum... and possibly more...:D

I am looking forward to Ark of Truth, primarly to see a wrap up of the Ori Storyline. I stopped buying the SG1 seasons after season 8. While I enjoyed the show after season 8 it really had a different feel to it.

There are a few video clips on MGM's official Stargate website. It looks to be very good. I preordered it yesterday from Amazon. Hopefully I'll get it within the next week.
I have all the DVDs of all the seasons, and I even have an extra, sealed, large case-sized version of Season 8 (US Version). I would be willing to trade it for something comparable.
Hopefully SG-1 will be able to weaken or defeat the Ori, but I just wonder if the Ancients will get involved, or be effected by Merlin's weapon themselves?
I am wondering if they may also kill off an important character or not?
I just hope it wraps everything up.

From the excerpts that I have seen so far, two things have really impressed me:
1) The sheer scale of what is going on. The camera work and the element of narrative to be told is on a level far in advance of anything previoulsy done. It's Stargate on steroids
2) Teal'c: the nature of Teal'cs character over the course of the series has meant that he was more the warrior than the thinker. The writers I think did a fantastic job of making Teal'c having more to him as the show progressed from series and but in series 9/10 the writers really began to show the real Teal'c (again due to the nature of the story). The dialogue he has had in the clips so far have really shown a depth of wisdom previosly unseen in Teal'c. "Do not fight for yourself, fight for ithers who might be saved through your efforts." A breath of fresh air.
Will they kill off a major character in the movie? No, I don't think so. The writers have said as much. Of course, 'dying' in SG-1 has always been a term up for debate. Daniel has died so many times it isn't funny. And keep in mind all the actors are in the second feature film. It's kind of hard to be in the next film if you're dead.
And the Ancients? Well, we know there policy of non-interfernace got tiresome for SG-1 long ago. They'll do something big, just what that is we'll have to wait and see...

Hey, March 11th? That's TONIGHT! How am I ever going to remember to tape it?
*goes scrambling for a post it note to stick on something I'll see when I get home from work tonight*
And keep in mind all the actors are in the second feature film. It's kind of hard to be in the next film if you're dead.
LOL. But you mentioned the number of times that Daniel died, he kept showing up even after he keeled over, so it's not out of the realm of possibility that someone could be killed and come back as an Ascended being again for the second movie.
*sticks post it note to forehead*
There. Think anyone will notice a bright yellow sticky note on my forehead? At least it matches my shirt. Hee hee... ;)

Okay. Now I get why it wasn't in my TV schedule for tonight. Nobody said this was actually a direct-to-DVD release, and was NOT being aired on TV first. I just saw "For those lucky enough to be US Stargate fans the final chapter in the SG-1 storyline wil play out on March 11." and assumed that they were airing something on the Sci-Fi Channel tonight.
Oh well...
*removes the no longer needed reminder post it note from forehead and throws away*
...Something for the Netflix queue I guess. :)

I can't see an ascended member of SG-1 being in the second movie. In fact, I am certain there won't be. I have seen some footage and it's pretty clear that they are flesh and blood. Keep in mind that the writers have explicitly stated that in ending the series they were NEVER going to kill off the important characters. With that said, while everyone will continue to be alive and well, that doesn't stop them killing a character in the middle of the movie and then having them become alive again. eg. Vala got burned alive in S9 and then was raised by the Prior.

My bad, I assumed people knew. At least you get to see the movie nearly a month before me.   :D

Well I went and bought it yesterday.... Watched it yesterday afternoon, before going to Small Group....
Let me say, it was worthy of the SG1 name, It was action packed, and stuff from outta no where happens to make the movie really intense...
Loved it... Looking foward to the fall to see the next one with RDA.

I'm glad to hear this. I ordered from Amazon, so I'll have to wait a week or so. Thanks for no spoilers. :)
